( darya ) new this morning..police are looking for a woman who robbed another woman at an a-t-m near the downtown berkeley bart station. it happened monday morning outside the chase bank on shattuck avenue. the

woman told police that the robber mentioned she had a gun and demanded the money. the thief got away with the cash. ( darya ) a teacher convicted of committing sexual acts on two 15-year-old boys will remain in prison. a state appeals court upheld the conviction and five year sentence for 36-year-old danielle matko. she was an english teacher at aspire east palo alto phoenix academy. she committed the crime against her students back in the fall of 2015. matko claimed there were mistakes in the evidence allowed at trial...but a three-judge panel unanimously upheld the conviction. ( james ) new this morning... a man is in critical condition after being shot in oakland. it happened around 10:00 last night near the intersection of 54th avenue and holland street. police do not have a description of the shooter this morning. ( james ) in the east bay a real estate agent says 26- thousand dollars worth of jewelry was stolen from her home while she was hosting an

open house. it happened in walnut creek on kit fox court. marian krochka had plans to move to hawaii and wanted to sell her home fast. on saturday... she hosted an open house alone -- even though she's not the listing agent. at some point in the afternoon... she says a man and a woman showed up -- claiming to be from georgia...but neither showed much interest in the actual house. krochka says they toured the five bedrooms in the one-point-five million dollar home unsupervised. a neighbor who may have captured images of the burglars on surveillance cameras -- handed that video over to the walnut creek police department. ( darya ) in the north bay -- the napa police department is hosting a meeting tonight to discuss a school threat that happened in january. two students were arrested after being accused of planning shootings at vintage high school and river middle school. napa police say the will discuss overall strategies for school safety at the meeting... as well as give tips for parent student

communication. the meeting is at 7 pm in the vintage high school theater. ( darya ) on the peninsula. sheriff's deputies arrested a man who burglarized at least 6 businesses. here is a picture of the man. 46-year-old andre murphy of oakland. investigators say the businesses he hit were in half moon bay, millbrae, and san carlos. ( james ) a big story this morning ... support continues to come in for the family of a father killed in a wrong-way crash.( darya ) the father of seven died on highway 101 early sunday morning. kron4's j-r stone talked with the victim's 13-year-old son. sot my dad is not here and without him everyone is sad and they miss him a lot and i miss him.13 year old yahya without his dad after that dad, waheed etimad was killed by a wrong way driver on highway 101. the accident happened in san francisco early sunday morning. waheed was driving for uber and had a passenger in his car when the wrong way driver hit them.

waheed and the other driver died.. his son yahya remembers when he was told what had happened.sot two policeman came and they were like we have bad news for you they took my mom my sister and me upstairs and said i have bad news your dad passed away years ago waheed worked as a translator for the u.s. government in afghanistan. he brought his family to the united states legally four years ago. waheed was currently a full time student and full time worker. working overnights as an uber driver to support his wife and his seven children seen here. many of them are too young to understand what has happened. those at the muslim community center are working to help the family. these items have been donated and online more than 200-thousand dollars has been raised in hopes of finding them permanent housing. there's a hope that officials will help too.sot if the county office congress senator pelosi...we need help for them....fault of the whole stateas for yahya. he understands the challenges ahead.sot my dad passed away without him my family none of them can work all o fthem are small and my mom doesn't speak english and can't drive and she has all the kids to go to school come back have lunch and she can't do all of it.(jr) hearbreaking story. at last check more than 213-thousand dollars has been raised for this family. they are not us citizens but those here in the

( darya ) stacey abrams, the former gubernatiorial candidate from georgia, delivered the official democratic response to the state of the union. abrams called the recent partial government shutdown, a "stunt" engineered by the president." she also talked about her campaign as a gubernatioral candidate, and her reason for running. abrams said she stood there last night holding onto a saying from her father... who said: "together we are coming for america, for a better america."

( darya ) bart is adjusting its schedule starting on monday...as crews begin make upgrades to the transbay tube. ( james ) the changes will last three years! kron 4's sara stinson is kron 4's sara stinson is joining us now with what riders need to know before monday. sara. there are about three thousand bart riders who hop on a train from four to five in the morning and those passengers will be most impacted as starting monday they will have to take a bus to get to work. there will be an early bird bus schedule running from 12 different stations throughout the bay area and bring people to the transbay transit center

in san francisco.crews will be working overnight and trains will start back up one hour later than normal at five in the morning.this project will last nearly three years to install steel lining in the transbay tube to prevent water from leaking in during a major seismic earthquake.crews will also be upgrading the electrical system and the tube's existing pumps.early riders i spoke with say they're glad bart is making these upgrades - but this is going to signifigantly impact their commute for the next three years.

( darya ) another big story. teachers in oakland rallied again ... this time in front of city leaders.( james ) it happened a day after 95- percent of oakland teachers voted to authorize a strike. kron 4's dan kerman has more. one day after 95% of oakland teachers voted to authorize a strike, they're hoping some political pressure will help

( james ) happening today... civil rights attorney john burris will announce a lawsuit against four oakland police officers involved in a fatal police shooting last year. this is body cam video of the shootiing. 32-year-old joshua pawlik was fatally shot by officers back in march. according to the complaint, the family says the conduct of

the officers is as close to murder as one can get. the family says pawlik was found unconsious between two homes in oakland, when police barricaded themselves behind and armed military vehicle. police say pawlik had a semi-automatic gun. they say officers opened fire after pawlik refused to put the gun down. police have not responded to a request for a comment on the lawsuit. ( darya ) in the east bay. police have arrested the teenagers accused of robbing a woman near the north berkeley bart station. it happened saturday evening on sacramento street between virginia and cedar streets. the victim told police that one of the suspects grabbed her cellphone from her hand and then they all ran away. the three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of stolen property. ( darya ) hayward police say tire thieves are targeting cars parked behind security gates, on properties with security cameras. in the latest incident, police say

the thieves went after vehicles parked in the metro 655 apartment complex on tennyson road. a resident there says she found her 20-18 honda without tires. she says the theft happened while she was sleeping. these stolen wheels follow thefts last week from cars parked in another hayward apartment complex.

( james ) we're learning more about the pilot of a plane that crashed and destroyed a yorba linda home over the weekend. investigators are now saying that antonio pastini was not a police officer. tuesday, an orange county sheriff said

pastini, was a retired chicago officer after a police badge and retirement papers were found. nvestigators say the credentials are fake. pastini was however a licensed pilot, according to the ntsb. he and four people inside the home were killed. ntsb investigators are not sure what caused it. they say based on video and the debris field, the plane appears to have broken up in the air. morning. a san francisco couple is rescued after they were stranded for five days in the mendocino national forest ... which was blanketed by snow.( james ) julia avery talked to the good samaritan who helped rescue them. "with the weather we had this morning, i'm fairly convinced the jeep would have been buried by morning," said logan. "how long they would have made it, i don't know."

monday morning, they drove to the mendocino national forest and got on their snow machines. "the wife said why don't you come up and see if you can find these guys," said logan "so, we loaded up the snow machines and away we went."the men had heard for days about carlos hernandez jr., 21, and his girlfriend maia herman- kitami, 18, going missing in or near the mendocino national forest. they knew they were looking for a yellow jeep. after four hours searching on the snow machines and more than 20 miles covered, logan and lovell were considering giving up. they ran into a group of jeeps on the same mission also about to head home. it was then they saw the jeep."sure enough, we come around the turn and there's a jeep 300 yards away," said logan. "it was just mind boggling."the excitement quickly turned to fear. "finding the jeep was the first part and then the unknown, you know? are you going to open the doors and find anyone alive?" logan said carlos and maia didn't let the fear last long."they started laying on the horn, you saw both doors open and they jumped out each side," said logan.the couple told them that for five days they rationed their food and melted snow for water. they kept the

snowed cleared from the roof of the jeep and stayed inside of it.they also put up a "help" sign on a nearby tree. "they did everything right," said logan.the team of jeeps helped dig out the yellow jeep and they were quickly on their way home to san francisco. "they were excited and we were excited and it didn't feel like a rescue mission by any means it was just 'hey lets get you out of here and get you down the hill", said logan. logan said he'll do the same thing next time someone is missing. he doesn't consider them heroes, but he knows the couple would have been in trouble if more days passed. ( darya ) warriors star steph curry is putting together a super team of his own with president barack obama. curry and obama are teaming up for the obama foundation's 'my brother's keeper alliance.' it is centered on reaching out to young boys and men of color. there will be speeches from a number of leaders, as
