from the school district. teachers lined up at the paramount theater to vote on the district's deal yesterday. the union and the district have been negotiating for the past two years. teachers were demanding higher salaries, smaller class sizes, and more resources. (grant) here's a breakdown of what's inside the new contract. teachers are getting an 11-percent raise ... over four years with a 3- percent bonus. they will see smaller class sizes...one student will be removed from each classroom. there will be more student support... which will reduce case-loads for counselors from a ratio of 600 students to one counsleor... to 500 students per councelor. the district is also pausing the closure of some scools. school officials say they will hold more community input sessions. (grant) and... in a 4-3 vote today... the oakland unified school district voted to make 21.75 million dollars in cuts to the districts 2019-

20 budget. the district says cuts are needed because the district faces a 56 million dollar budget shortfl by the 20-20- 20-21 school year... if no reductions are made. the cuts went against the wishes of dozens of students, teachers, and community members who attended a three hour public hearing today. the board was scheduled to vote on the cuts last wednesday... but that meeting and a subsequent one planned for friday were postponed due to strikers forming picket lines around the planned meeting sites. (vicki) four people were shot over the weekend inside a business in downtown oakland. the victims, two men and two women, were shot just after midnight sunday at a business on the 300 block of 14th street. a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting. police were not able to provide any additional information about what led to the shooting or the identity of the shooter. (grant) in the south bay... police have arrested the man they say attacked a woman on the stevens creek trail in mountain view. 29

year old michael adonis was arrested at a home on santa clara avenue. the victim says he introduced himself as "jerry"... before he attacked her last week. officers say they were responding to a separate incident when they noticed bite marks on his hands consistent with what the victim told police...she said she bit him in an effort to get away. police say they also found the clothes the victim told police he was wearing. the victim was treated for serious injuries to her face, but is expected to be ok. (vicki) on the peninsula... pacifica police are searching for answers after two people were found dead inside a home on the 11-hundred block of banyan way. officers found the bodies yesterday afternoon in the 11-hundred block of banyan way. right now, there are no suspects and police say there's no public safety concern. an investigation is ongoing. (grant) in the north bay... russian river flood victims are getting help from a local assistance center.

it's inside the old bank of america building on main street in guerneville. sonoma county officials say they opened the center to help people as they begin the re-building process. it will be open from 9 am to 6pm though at least saturday. (vicki) some petaluma residents are protesting the proposed construction of a safeway gas station along a busy intersection. dozens of people walked along mcdowell boulevard yesterday speaking out against the project. petaluma city leaders are deciding whether or not to approve the project today. if approved... the gas station would be built at the intersection of mcdowell and maria drive. people against the project say that's too close to the petaluma child development center and mcdowell elementary. they also worry that the new fuel station would increase traffic in the area. (grant) today... vallejo unveiled its first new water ferry in about 15 years. service for the one hour ride into san francisco began at 5:30 a-m. the last ferry returns tonight at 8:15 p-m. one way trip

tickets are just over 14 dollars. and round trip tickets are just over 29- dollars. 24 hour parking will run you 7-dollars. the ferry fits about 450 people on board. lawrence karnow: skies were mostly cloudy with a few scattered light showers today. its mostly quiet on the doppler radar now but that will change later tonight. another round of rain will move in late tonight especially the southern parts of the bay area. rain will be heaviest in the santa cruz mountain south in the morning tomorrow. you can see the storm on doppler radar. it has tapped into subtropical moisture again which will bring heavy rain and possible flooding to central and southern california. tomorrow will be we on and off throughout the day. highs will be in the 50s and low 60s. more rain is forecast for wednesday before turning to showers on thursday. there is a chance showers again this weekend.

(grant) southwest airlines is now officially selling tickets to hawaii from the bay area. flights went on sale today.. with fares as low as $49 dollars one way from oakalnd and san jose. however the cheapest flights are going fast.... most may already be sold out. and

two young girls in humboldt county -- missing since friday -- were located safe and sound sunday in a forest.reporter dru miller was there for the emotional family reunion.
