right. and so anytime anytime you to you to fill in for now. we're doing weather and we're going to be seeing a lot of sunshine around the bay area. >> and you know, we saw a lot of rain over the last couple of weeks and we're going to be into dry conditions. actually as we get into tomorrow and even into your weekend, some 70's that we're going to be seeing around the bay area right now mostly clear skies out there. san francisco international airport. i'm not tracking any fog. no real cloud cover around the bay area right now just nothing but clear skies here at the airport on the peninsula. our satellite imaging showing that so we are going to see a little bit of a warm-up as those temperatures are going to get into the low 70's and some are warmer spots as high pressure continues to build for today and into tomorrow. and even more so into the weekend. the low pressure system that we're seeing will be to the far north of areas like oregon and washington. they will be getting some wet weather over the next couple of days. but thanks to that high pressure. it will be keeping the bay area pretty much drive through sunday. and

those so warmer conditions. right now, though, it is chilly outside. if you're going to be a heading out of your house. you want to definitely grab a jacket or sweater 40's and 50's on board right now. 47 in santa rosa 54 in downtown oakland. 56 in san francisco and 52 degrees right now if you're waking up with us in downtown san jose. but those temperatures are set to change. and like i was mentioning we're going to see mild to warmer conditions into this afternoon. we'll have all those details coming up in just a bit. for now, let's send it back to rain and we're back at. thank you so much for that. all right. if you're waking up and you're hitting the roads this morning. >> traffic is light for the most part don't see any major hot spot or delays out there. if you're heading from the east bay into the city. a little under 10 minutes to make it to that fremont street exit. let's get a look at the san mateo bridge as you're heading across towards the peninsula little under 13 minutes for your drive time there. and if you're in richmond headed across towards san rafale. no major issues still pretty quiet. looks like the lights are back on this morning. remember, was super dark yesterday. so a little under 9 minutes to make that

commute. let's head over and look at the golden gate bridge. if you're heading from the north bay to reach the tolls will take you a little under 20 minutes we'll have more weather and traffic coming up for now, let's get back to our top stories. 44 members of cows football team tested positive for covid-19 the coronavirus outbreak at uc berkeley and the confusion that followed berkeley health officials suggesting the team was not following basic protocol. some players have been venting about the issue on social media skrine forced on them. a call got a chance to catch up with some of the members of the team. >> i think moving forward everyone is very clear about, you know, the protocols that are in place going forward. what is expected? you know, clearing up the confusion over covid-19 protocols. members of the cal berkeley football team same everyone is now 100% clear. the team practice for the first time wednesday. but the limited number of players. >> it came just one day after news of a covid-19 outbreak

forced the school to cancel this weekend's game against usc mean believe definitely had to adjust. you know, this outbreak happened outside. >> practices of the covid shorter. you know, we have different things that are different with sand. within practiced tuesday, kron 4 1st told you when some of the players vented their frustrations on social media over what they say was a lack of clarity over covid-19 protocols between the school and berkeley health leaders. >> the berkeley public health department hit back confirming 44 cases of covid-19 on the team. the department said that members failed to abide by public health measures, including not getting tested when sick staying home. when sick and wearing mask indoors. that the trainers and the doctors to a return to play protocol. >> and anybody who's been covid positive. and there's. my goes into that. but it's not that the coaches. oversee

cal head football coach justin wilcox not specifically addressing the comments made from the health department. >> but says he is optimistic moving forward about his players and his program. there's still a lot of. >> a lot of good out there and you know, i don't envision this being a long-term. issue. you know, next year in the year beyond not to say that it's going to go away. but maybe that we're in a better place jonathan mccall kron 4 news. >> as we get closer to winter leaders at the federal, state and local levels are all now pushing for people to get vaccinated against covid santa clara county health officer doctor sara cody held a news conference urging everyone who's eligible for a booster shot to get one. the cdc says boosters are available to those who are age 65 those 18 and over with underlying health conditions and those who work or live in high-risk settings. doctor cody says you might be eligible to get a booster and you don't even

realize it. >> underlying medical conditions include everything, including depression anxiety. hypertension, diabetes obesity. there ar us who don't fall into one of you know, meet one of those eligibility criteria. >> doctor cody says more than a million county residents can get a booster. but so far only about 20% of those eligible have actually done that. governor gavin newsome says he and the state's top health officials are now doing everything they can to avoid what happened last winter cases rose dramatically while hospitals and icus spaces dwindle and weeks of decline california's covid numbers are now beginning to rise yet again. >> we are concerned about the winter. we're concerned about rising case numbers pressure on our hospitals from a number of other issues on top of covid winter's coming. >> well, governor newsome also

was pressed about a new daily mail report out. it alleges he had a bad reaction to his booster. covid shot and claims. that's why he did not make any public appearances in almost 2 weeks, including canceling his planned trip to the recent climate conference in glasgow newsome tonight. that report and reiterated he canceled plans because he wanted to spend halloween with his family. meantime, the white house says nearly 1 million children ages 5 to 11 have now received the first pfizer dose. it has been one week since the vaccine became available to that age group, some 20,000 vaccination sites across the country are currently providing shots for young children. the white house says about 700,000 more appointments have been made at pharmacies for the coming days. millions of these at-home covid test kits have now been recalled because of higher than expected. false positive test result. the little that's the australian company behind the test. they've identified more than

2 million affected test in the united states on the fda's warning and using these tests could lead to covid going undetected in the companies producing and shipping. new unaffected test kits to the united states. if you have one of these tests at your home. you can get a replacement if you like, by filling out a survey on the company's website. oakland. police are investigating after a woman was shot near the fox theater. officials say she was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition. there's been no word on any suspects or this was a targeted shooting. the ban all time low was scheduled to play fox theater. but the concert was canceled due to that shooting. organizers say tickets will be refunded. well, on the peninsula. belmont police say after 2 year investigation they've arrested 4 people in connection to the murder of a 17 year-old the body of mohammed othman was found in the parking lot of central elementary school in january,

7th 2019 police say they determine early in their investigation that the suspects knew off meant, but they say it took multiple law enforcement agencies to help them make a full arrest to the men arrested have been identified as 23 gonzales logan is of indianapolis. indiana and 21 year-old antonio valencia of concord. the other 2 suspects are not being identified as they were both minors at the time of kaufman's dept. there's still no word on a possible motive in the case. police say their investigation is still ongoing. well, a teacher's aide at sherman elementary school in san francisco has died. sadly after he was struck and killed by a car. the school principal confirms and use him in died. police say the crash happened shortly before 8 o'clock wednesday morning at the intersection of franklin and union streets. well, despite officers best efforts. stephen died at the scene there. now the cause of the crash is still under investigation. the driver did stop and the principal says a

crisis response team at the school is may plans to respond to any emotional needs of all students and staff. neighbors and merchants and community members are on edge after 3 shootings and just 3 weeks in san francisco's famous haight ashbury neighborhood supervisor dean preston who represents the district held a town hall to talk about the recent spike in violence. kron four's taylor is aqi. has that story. >> i have never felt afraid for my life. and i don't ever recall the violent being to neighbors sharing grief and frustration on wednesday. >> after 3 shootings in just 3 weeks. this haight ashbury community in san francisco supervisor dean preston held a town hall on wednesday to address the recent violence. we know there are recent weekso have been particularly difficult for our and it's really heartbreaking not to experience violence within our

community. more police patrols have been posted up in the haight ashbury corridor. >> following the death of 21 year-old samuel jessup of san francisco. he died last week on haight street after an exchange of gunfire that also left another person critically injured. there is some speculation on social media and through the conversation happening. >> that a business was targeted they went to a that's not the case. what i can say is that. 2 individuals that came through in a and had a confrontation with the victim terms fire. the kurds. there was also there was more than one tar parties from the and party that was on the street. both injured, the party from the vehicles. the one that that tied, it seems just a few days later. >> more violence erupted in the neighborhood after an attempted burglary at central park natural market late saturday night, an employee

says 4 men used hammers to try and break into the store when a man who lives in the back apartment interrupted and was shot at thankfully the bullet missed the tenant back on october 22nd another man wasn't as lucky. he was critically injured during an afternoon hail of gunfire since the increased police patrols this week captain chris been dreamy said there hasn't been any shootings robberies or violent assaults. however, he says the increased police presence in the neighborhood is not sustainable due to limited staffing. >> well, in san francisco students at lough high school. a state law high school stage a walkout protest of assault and harassment. now they're calling on school administrators to investigate cases as far back as last school year in response to that walk out the district released a statement saying they encourage all students to report issues of harassment. adding the district is obligated to respond. they go on to say, quote, for any allegation of harassment.

designated district staff are going to be reviewing the allegations and determine whether or not there is reliable information to pursue an investigation. well, coming up on the kron 4 morning news charges are formally filed against former raider henry ruggs the 3rd. >> what's next for his case. and president biden says his infrastructure deal will cut port congestion addresses, repair maintenance that needs happen there that logs and also install some new technology. we'll have more details on how he thinks that's going to benefit the nation. welcome back to the

shot. but of course, starting early of what we like to call around here and very, very chilly in fact, temperatures 40's and 50's right now around the bay area. so bundle up as you make your way out of the house today. a san francisco you're currently at 55 right now. oakland 54 degrees 51 in concord. 51 also in livermore right now. 52 degrees. if you're just now waking up with us in downtown san jose. look at all those 40's in the north, a very chilly in upper right now currently at 46 there and nevado 46 degrees. but things will be changing. we're actually tracking a high-pressure system that's going to be warming things up into the afternoon warm for this time of year. definitely little bit abnormal and we're going to be seeing a lot of sunshine and mostly clear conditions through tomorrow and even into the weekend, much of the rainfall in the low pressure in that chillier temperatures that will remain to the far north of us. and it looks like a oregon and washington will be getting the rainfall while we will be mostly dry as we get the next

couple of days. highs today. find your neighborhood. we're going to see a 70's on the board. it's november 11th. so definitely warmer than what we normally see for this time of year. 70 degrees in oakland for the high today under a lot of sunshine 72 in concord for the high. we're looking at some low 70's and liver morning fremont morgan hill. you'll be at a high of 72 some very evenly spread temperatures. there will be a couple of upper 60's. those are going to be mainly a for our coastal areas like half moon, bay 69 there. but lots of sun to enjoy. so it's going to be beautiful at the coast and the really nice at the beaches today. 69 in mill valley and they're looking at 73 in novato in the north bay and 72 for the high in santa rosa, looking into the 1st half of your weekend. look at this 70's inland all the way into saturday under a lot of sunshine. we're looking at around the bay upper 60's low 70's at the coast. we will some mid 60's popping up and then i'll have your 7 day around the bay forecast coming

the face. well, he's the first rider to be sentence for assault on an officer. he also received the longest sentence in connection with the riots. president biden is now touting his 1 trillion dollar infrastructure plan has a fix for the nation's inflation and supply chain. he touted the port of baltimore to kick off. it was the air and it's likely to be a national tour to highlight the bill that cleared congress last week. jessi tenure. you can see is live with us. good morning, jesse. yeah. good morning to you as well. the president has been trying to explain that congested ports indicate a strong economic rebound from the pandemic. >> but while many americans may have more money in their pockets. they're having to spend more too. >> very soon. we're going to see the supply chain start catching up with the man. president biden offered his 1 trillion dollar infrastructure plan as an eventual solution to the nation's backlogged ports and rising inflation, everything from gallon of gas, a loaf of bread cost more forced the

bill invests 17 billion dollars in ports to cut congestion address repair and maintenance backlogs and install new technology. products moving faster and less expensively from factory floor through the supply chain to roam. the president also announced more immediate fixes, more ports around the country will operate nonstop along with companies like walmart, target ups and fedex. they assured me that the shelves will be stocked in stores this holiday. his message came as the labor department reported, the largest inflation surge in more than 30 years. the more you expand government, the more money put in the system. the more inflation you've got to have now is not the time to do these policies. republicans on capitol hill blame the president and his party for the rise in consumer prices. it's a direct result. of flooding the country. >> and the president plans to sign the bipartisan infrastructure bill into law on monday live in washington. i'm jessi tenure. thank you for that report. jesse.

>> at a ceremony hosted by a dixon ceremony or cemetery there. the veterans have no family, no one to claim them and no one to be there to say a final goodbye. jeannie nguyen has that story for us. >> hate >> it's. >> after >> stops are >> these veterans are finally getting the recognition they deserve. >> this ceremony is to honor those veterans that came here that never got the military honors for whatever reason, these veterans have unfortunately been forgotten. >> no family, no one to claim them. want to be there to say a final goodbye.

>> that will change is right here at the sacramento valley national cemetery with one last ceremony to honor each veteran and all the stood for. we're now their family basically. >> stephen bound. >> a member of the american legion out of healdsburg is accepting the burial flag for these veterans. >> it's it's emotional for me that these veterans don't have family. >> and that emotion is something ron collier is very familiar with. he's a volunteer for missing in america project, an organization that identifies the remains of unclaimed veterans and brings them to a national cemetery. >> i had 3 veterans that i found in sonoma county that i brought over here in july of 20 and they were given their military honors. >> for these 3 veterans. these honors have been waiting for them for a long time. >> they had been sitting on the shelf for about 20 years. nobody had claimed them and i claim them. i become their

last family. >> even though these veterans of maybe unaccompanied these headstones show that there's a person behind each name with the story and possibly a family but never got any closure. we have had some people come forward say my uncle. >> i had no idea it was my uncle is buried here. that's part of the reason ceremonies like this are held at the cemetery for families to get one last reunion it's just very heartwarming to know that they found someone. >> that probably was lost and what reunions may not happen often ultimately it's about giving that veteran piece. it's to help our veterans to find a final resting place. >> what a beautiful story. and in honor of veterans day. we hope you join us tonight. as we say thank you to the men and the women in our military. >> our what sort of anchor ken wayne will be hosting our half hour special veterans voices honoring those who serve. it's
