so lots of sunshine for everyone. we just have to get through. and these chilly temperatures 40's and 50's for the most part, alameda. you're at 57 degrees currently oakland 51 and san francisco at 57. but all these temperatures that you see you're going to be replaced the upper 60's to low 70's and i'll have those details coming up in just a bit. for now, let's head over to the traffic center. yeah. and get an update on the roads. good morning, rebecca. right. so we have a car fire. this is in hayward, northbound 80 south of 92 west. but we're looking at the highways. >> not seen any major impacts from that. we're going to keep a close eye on things. there. if you're traveling from the east bay right now into the city. a little under 11 minutes for your drive time. no major delays along 5.80, or 80 as you're traveling through berkeley and emeryville san mateo bridge heading across towards the peninsula. little under 30 minutes for your fell commute. nice and light for us a little under 9 as you're traveling out of richmond and in the south bay. look at that. 2 3780 to 85 no

major issues started. james, back to you. thank you. are star top story this morning. some scary moments for 2 sets of parents in northern california. there were 2 incidents where their cars were stolen. while their babies were still in both of these cases. the kids are ok this morning. so let's talk about the one. >> that happened first in auburn. well, actually, what but what happened in the bay area. so we'll start with pittsburgh because the pittsburgh police are still looking for the woman who stole the car with a one year-old girl inside. we've got proper sarah stinson in the newsroom with the very latest on the sarah, good morning. >> yes, so scary. but thankfully this morning the father baby girl. they're reunited after last night's terrifying events this morning. police are still looking for the woman who stole the car with her inside. you can see video of the moments after police finally found that suv and that's what the one year-old girl was inside of police say a woman jumped into that car. the father's suv and drove away with his daughter after the

woman was denied a cigarette. the baby's father was outside of the suv at the time talking with someone. but he left his engine running. >> this girl. this little baby girl. she was secured in a car seat in the back seat. an amber alert was issued. police got to work and they finally found that suv after the woman abandoned it with the baby back inside safe. this was in an apartment complex parking lot in pittsburgh and they found it just after 7.30. the girl was found because people heard her screaming. >> the neighbor had called me and i called her back. she told me that it was weird. they pulled up in the car was blocking here. they were blocking the driveway and was just sitting here and they said it was weird because they heard the baby screaming crying, screaming crying and then they looked in their last. the life of a missing near the door was open and they got the baby. is is scares me because i asked. >> i mean, question one had to pick up the challenge. this is crazy. this is crazy. this is insane.

>> the suspected car thief is described as a white woman with blond hair in her 30's with a face tattoo on the left side. she has not been found yet, but police are still investigating and working on at the reviewing surveillance video from the business where the woman originally stole the car with the baby inside. so we're hoping to get that video were hoping to get more information and we'll get that from the kron 4 news room. so stay tuned for an update in about 30 minutes. back to you. >> so the other incident happened when a car with a 7 month-old inside was also stolen that in the city of where that these 2 things happened so far. part of the same time. so in this case in auburn, the parents. as you can see, this place. they were dropping of their kids to this child or their child to that child care when this happened. and this is the child care center and right when they were, you know, getting out of the car. 2 women jumped in the car and took off with the baby inside match and the women then led police on a chase down highway. one 93. the car

crashed into utility pole. luckily the baby was unhurt. everything's fine on that front. they did arrest one of the women right there at the crash site. the other one that took off on foot and you're looking at night vision video showing about 30 minutes later when they caught up with her. she now has also been arrested. also happening today, the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce is expected to announce a reward for any information in the search for a shooter after a 23 month-old was hit by stray bullet on interstate 8.80. the reward is expected to be $10,000. the incident happened last saturday. we told you the story about jasper wu he was riding in a car with his mom when he was struck by that stray bullet. he later died at children's hospital oakland. the oakland chinatown chamber of commerce is expected, as i said to hold that news conference later this morning and we will bring you live coverage of that when it happens. that will be on our 24 7 streaming news app kron on. >> it's 6. '06, and today students are returning to class for the first time since

a teacher's aide was struck and killed outside sherman elementary school in san francisco. and that's the story. the kron four's will tran is on for us this morning with the latest on what's expected to be a sad day today for the kids. well. >> very sad to the point where they will bring in grief counselors. this happened on wednesday right before school. and then yesterday was veteran stay so school was not in and this will be the first full day that they're in school realizing that their teacher andrew zemin will not be inside the classrooms. this vigil continues to have candles that burn. you can see notes that are been written for andrew and his family. there are flowers. james let me show you how close he was to being safe. this is at the intersection of franklin and union across the street yulius evans will move the camera across the street is sherman elementary. he was hit in the cross walk shortly before 8 o'clock on wednesday. that's how close he was to being safe

instead, 2 cars collide into each other and then crash into him while he was in the crosswalk heading to school. that was the school. he went to as an elementary school kid and he wanted to go back there to give back to the kids now, this caused the cause of the crash is still under investigation. many factors are being looked into, including possible speeding as to why these 2 cars collided and slammed into him. so horrific league ice that they could not even rushing to the hospital that he died at the scene just 30 years old. he was the only child at this particular point, the city of san francisco they are also looking into it to see what caused this accident. this is franklin. this street is wide open historically famous for speeding. they don't know speed was a factor at this time, but they are looking into possibly doing things to slow the drivers down there could be even charges against

the drivers who got collided into each other and then ultimately ricocheted and then slammed into andrew. that's the cross walk eyes. this is the cross walk. he was in right there in the tiddle of it when he was hit so close to being safe grief counselors will be here before the kids arrive. and i'm sure even before the staff members arrive. this is the first day because yesterday was veteran stays. so they came out here. they consoled each other, but they will have professional help today and we will be respectful and we will talk to the parents and the staff members and maybe even some of the students he was beloved. it's confusing enough. as you know, for high school kids and even college kids to wrap their mind around death, much less elementary school kids. back to you. all right. thank you very much. well. >> 6. '09, times. 5 people were hurt. they were hit by a car during a vaccination mandate protest on the golden gate bridge. a car smashed into a street sweeper. and you

can see here the bottom right corner your screen where this happened. 2 of the victims who were hit more police officers. they were to the hospital, non life threatening injuries and the other 3 victims were golden gate bridge district employees. they suffered only minor injuries. we can see the backup in the chaos in the action. now this is before this video here is before. this is the protests when it started at the welcome center. and at one point the protesters tried to cross the bridge. but authorities kept them from doing that. hundreds of people were at this protests calling for the mandates to and they say it's government overreach. one man died and another was injured in an apartment fire in brentwood were zeroing in on the area where this happened, this fire broke out in the apartment on nancy street and when crews went in, that's when they found the 2 men and a dog inside. one man was revived at the scene and taken to hospital. but the other man and the dog didn't make it.

fantastical behind us. good morning. we're back and good morning, guys. yeah. the warning is shaping up to be a quite beautiful around the bay area. lot of our live camera shots right now starting to just that little bit of sunshine starting to rise and that we're seeing mostly clear conditions with a little bit of patchy fog in some spots llke we just saw. >> in with our suture tower camera over of the bay right now outside. we're looking at our camera pointed towards the bay and into san francisco. this from the east bay hills in berkeley right now. you can see just a little bit layer of fog there. but mostly clear, though, at least clear enough to where you can see across the bay in 2 of the city and fog cast for were yes, it's going to remain a little bit denser. a long summer coastal areas and even in the south bay and rain has been talking about it on the roads as well. it's been a factor, especially if you're going to be driving through parts of the lay. whoa, fairfield the nation right now. but the good news is is once we get closer to the lunchtime hour. look at all that clearing that we're going to start to see with a whole lot of sun half moon bay, though you're still going

to have it on and off throughout the entire day, but everywhere else. it should be mostly clear skies and definitely a warm up there. we're going to be seeing across the bay area temperatures right now. we just have to get some of these chilly ones, mostly 40's and 50's it is 60 degrees right now in pacifica. but we're looking at 56 in berkeley right now. 51 in downtown oakland. 57 in san francisco and a lot of 40's still remain in our north is own likes and coming in at 47 degrees. futurecast for showing us and no rainfall. see how it's to the far north of us. the storm system coming out of the pacific northwest going to just be touching down through the oregon area into washington and parts of canada and high pressure continuing to sit through the bay area, keeping all of the warm weather here and keeping us a nice and dry temperatures today in your neighborhood. it might be a degree or 2 degrees higher than where we were at yesterday. like downtown san jose a high of 76 expected today oakland you'll be at a high of 72 and san francisco

high of 70 degrees. the lay who 72 and then the moto. you'll be at a high of 74 looking ahead into your weekend. look at this is going to shape up to be just beautiful, sunshine and perfect weather make some plans to go outside inland temperatures low to mid 70's around the bay. you're going to see mostly low 70's in mid to upper 60's at the coast. i'll have your 7 day around the bay forecast coming up a little bit later during a rebecca. thanks for that. all right. out there on the roads, even light for the most part. >> but in some areas we've seen accidents like here and reveal. so 80 westbound at powell street. but we're not seeing any delays along 5.80, or 80. that's the good news. you see traffic building here on the bay bridge. about 20 minutes traveling into the city right now to make it to that free much exit looks like they just turn the meteor lights on here at the bay bridge like of rebecca just mention the benicia martinez bridge. we see some fog there long 6.80. so take your time as you're driving in that area

>> obviously there's only so many taken half and the fact that passes al sharpton right now that's fine. then that's it. one more black pastors coming here for other jesse jackson, whoever was he was here earlier this week saying with the victim's family trying to influence a jury in this case. and i'm not saying the state is even aware that mister sharpton was in the courtroom. i certainly wasn't aware of it until last night. i think the poor can understand my concern about bringing people in who really don't have ties to this case other than political interest. >> the attorney went on to say he was concerned with the presence of the black pastors being an attempt to intimidate or affected jury. the judge said he was going make a blanket ruling about to anybody who would be in the courtroom. the father and son greg and travis mcmichael and their neighbor. william bryan, our charge with the murder of arbery and 12 february of 2020, the defense has said

that travis mcmichael fired in self-defense. >> well, the defense is also arrested now in the case of the murder trial of kyle rittenhouse, the 18 year-old shot and killed 2 men and wounded a 3rd using an assault rifle. this was all during a protest in kenosha, wisconsin last year. well, rittenhouse says that he shot the men in self-defense. so that's his defense as well. closing arguments are expected to begin on monday. >> the biden administration is taking action for veterans who may have been exposed to toxic burn pits while serving our country overseas yeah, that's something that he talked about at length jessi tenure join us live from dc with more on all of this. good morning, jesse. >> yeah, good morning, james and darya these open air burn. pits were a very common at military bases during the iraq and afghanistan wars. but current va policies make it difficult to qualify for care. >> president biden marked his

first veterans day in office with a promise to those who have served the country are administration is going to beat the sacred obligation that we owe you. the president announced new support for veterans who may have been exposed to toxic burn pits while serving overseas to make sure our veterans don't have to wait to get the care they need. the va will set up a call center and a network of specialized providers to help make it easier for veterans to prove toxic exposure caused their health problems and get faster treatment. our nation makes them a simple promise. if you take care of us will take care of you. if you fight for us will fight for you. if you service, we'll serve you when you come home. va secretary denis mcdonough will also oversee a 90 day review to determine if certain conditions like rare cancers are service related. those words live on. and their minds and their bodies. and scars visible and invisible on capitol hill. lawmakers have been working on legislation to help more veterans exposed to toxic burn pits and those who

blake. >> the last phone call i got from michael said it's going scary fast. get here quick. he tells me she tried to get into this car right here. but new she wasn't going to make it ends up coming right here on to the grass in deciding this was the spot i totally did not want to have a baby but the johnsons tell me that's what ended up happening. >> and it was all caught on their ring camera >> emily's mother christy arrived at 1030 about 5 minutes after emily tried to get in the car. >> just 12 minutes later she delivered the baby night as the paramedics pulled up, his head was coming out as they were getting out of the vehicles got to cut the umbilical cord, the scalpel on the front yard. >> mom >> and baby were taken to the hospital after the delivery and are healthy. their older son was in the car seat

that wasn't causing any for travelers. a little under 14 minutes. if you're headed across towards the peninsula to make that drive a lot of fall still in the benicia area. so if you're traveling across the nation, martinez bridge on the north and southbound side. 6.80. we are seeing fog there. a little on dirt on it. he had a richmond had to cross the war. sandra fell and in the south bay, no major issues about 30 minutes traveling from 85 to menlo park darya. james, back to you. thank you, ray. so breaking news overnight. we've just learned about a 3rd incident. now involving a child who was in a car when it was stolen. >> in northern california in all 3 cases of the children are safe. so wanted to make sure we made that clear right off the bad. the weird thing is that all 3 of these cases are independent. yeah, they just happened. all happened involving cars that were taken with kids in that one in auburn. >> up near sacramento than 2 here in the bay area. so let's start with the one that happened in pittsburgh where somebody took a car with a little girl inside.

>> and luckily, as we said, all of these kids were found 4, sarah stinson in the talking about that one in pittsburgh. and then this latest one that we've learned about in concord. sarah. >> yeah, we're going to start with conquer because we have just confirmed that we've been talking all morning about the incident in pittsburgh. and we've been trying to make calls about the one in concord and we've been able to confirm another baby was in a car stolen right parents eyes and happened in concord. take a look. we have video of the emotional moments. the mother was reunited with her baby holding her for dear life. the 4 month-old baby was in the car last night at 10. '03, when someone jumped in and took off with the baby inside the parents stepped out of the car for just a moment before that parent knew it. the car and the baby were gone. police say it was a terrifying call to get that. thankfully. they found the baby 20 minutes later, a very terrifying 20 minutes. but thankfully they found him. the concord police say they can not believe there

at this time. so we know what they're looking for in pittsburgh conquer. police have not released any information as to who they're looking for. they're going over surveillance video. they're going to go back to the area where the car and the baby were stolen trying to canvas the area get some video and conquer. police said they're going to be working with pittsburgh police to see if the 2 are connected. i mean, you can't help but wonder if the 2 are connected, this does not happen every day. so that's what they're working on. and once they get a description of who they're looking for. we'll bring you the latest. we're hoping to get that update within the next 30 minutes. hopefully no longer than an hour. back to you. all right. thanks a lot, sarah. well, and then as we mentioned, that 3rd incident. >> was the one that happened in auburn, a car with a 7 month-old inside stolen. while the parents were dropping off the child compared to the bay area auburn, as you know, have a mountain towns it's yeah. so here they were, they were going to this day care center and they were dropping off their child.

>> when a woman jumped into the car. sorry. yeah. 2 women jumped in the car and took off. so the babies inside the women lead police on a chase. the going down highway one 93 and the car crashes you just saw it into a utility pole and luckily the child was fine. baby not hurt. one woman was arrested right there at the scene. the other one took off. and that's this video here. its night vision camera video showing the moment. >> about a half hour later that police caught up with that second woman. so she is now resting you think of the reckless nature of this. you know how the crash with a baby and that the baby is okay. >> it's just good that they were caught. everybody's right. 2 people running for mayor of oakland are weighing in on the gun violence to plague the city. we told you yesterday on the kron 4 morning news about 3 different shootings that happened just over 12 hour period. well, now to mayoral candidates are offering their plans to address gun violence. >> it is important that we have a law enforcement presence to hold the line while we are also investing to

address the root causes that lead to the public safety challenges we face. i have fought for better public safety. >> we fought for historic investments in violence. prevention is always important that if we can prevent this from happening before it happens. that is what we should do. >> as of this morning. the city of oakland has had a 119 homicides so far this year. >> in the east bay richmond mayor tom is accusing fellow city council members of plotting a coup. that's a day after the council voted to condemn him for comments that he made in recent months about the richmond city manager. the issue stems from the mayor's news letters that he regularly posts on his website and on several occasions. the mayor has disparaged the job performance of city manager laura snide munn and city attorney teresa stricker. now tuesday. the council voted to direct the city attorney to censor the mayor for improperly disclosing attorney clyde information. the mayor has responded saying in part

see it on the screen, quote, as a city council member and mayor. i have a duty to be critical if warranted of the city manager and let her know when and how her actions fall below what i believe the community expects and quote, now the city attorney as we understand is already resigned and will leave office in january. in the south bay san jose police have arrested a man who's accused of committing crimes while acting as a spiritual leader. 42 year-old, jorge never ready is accused of crimes including the rape of a child under the age of 15 police say it happened between october of last year in august of this year. it's unclear where he was serving as a spiritual healer. but as the story unfolds, we'll keep you updated. >> 6.38 for your health this morning. don't forget about the measles, the cdc is worried that this is a global threat now in a serious problem because a lot of parents in covid more get their kids vaccinated more than 22 million babies missed
