oakland leaders. he's joining us now with details on this reward and also what else they're asking for this afternoon. good afternoon, charles. >> hello. yes. so the investigation into this case continues. but now community groups, including the chinatown chamber of commerce crimes against asians. reward fund in the san francisco police officers association are teaming up to offer a cash reward for information. >> this past saturday 23 month-old jasper. wu was riding in the back of this white lexus being driven southbound by his mother along 8.80. there were 2 other adults and 2 other children in the car around 02:00pm near the split between 8980 a bullet struck the car and injured jasper. he later died at the hospital the california highway patrol is leading the investigation but so far released very little information. we don't know the motive for the shooting or who was responsible, although the highway patrol is leading the investigation. they are being assisted by the oakland police department. opd chief armstrong said on friday that he believes the reward money could help but that it will

take more than that. of rewards help influence people to bring forth information. >> we hope that this additional money will help somebody feel like they are encouraged to bring forth that information. it's much needed. i think the outcry from the community as well asking for that information will also be helpful. so i think it's a collective effort. i don't think money alone is the we need people to feel remorseful for this family. we need people to feel empathy for what happened and we need people to think about what if this was a child of yours. what if this was a relative of yours. would you want people to bring that same information forward so that the people responsible could be held accountable. i think they would a go fund me page has also been set up to provide financial assistance to jasper wu's family. so far over $200,000 has been collected. >> all right. back live we also know that that reward, that $10,000 reward that amount could actually go up in the days ahead. as more donations come in. anyone with information is asked to

near the door was open and they got the baby and just after midnight. police were tipped off that medley. was walking on bourbon street. >> she was arrested and booked for kidnapping. and that. >> she's being held at the martinez detention facility. her bail set at $100,000 in pittsburgh. philli e djegal all kron 4 news. >> now in concord police. they're working on a very similar case a 4 month-old baby was in a car last night around 10 when someone jumped in and then took off with the baby still inside this video showing that emotional reunion between the mother and her child after police found the car abandoned with that baby inside. police are still searching for the suspect this afternoon and there was another incident that happened with the car and a 7 month-old that was inside this one was stolen in the city of auburn, which is just northwest of sacramento. parents were dropping off their child to daycare when this went down. that is when police say 2 women jumped in the car and

took off with the baby still inside the women. then led police on chase and then the car crashed into a utility pole. fortunately the baby was not injured. one woman was arrested right after the crash. the other woman police say took off running and police were able to track her down about 30 minutes later. and she was also arrested. then. now to a big story we're watching out of san francisco. there has now been an arrest in the crash that killed an elementary school educator earlier this week. police have arrested 7 year-old susan baer rucci who they say drove through a red light at the intersection of union and franklin streets and that killed andrew simon police say impairment does not appear to be a factor but that 7 year-old woman faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and running a red light. and at the school where he taught at students, went back to class for the first time since their teachers staff, kron four's will tran spoke to some of them about their loss and

that same day, a 3rd bomb threat was called into presentation. high school in san jose and police are saying that same teenager was connected to all 3 calls but due to his age. they're not giving out his name or the school that he attends just saying that he's been cited now to the north bay. the sonoma county sheriff's office is investigating the death of a horse sheriff's deputies are saying early on monday morning. someone shot and killed this. 26 year-old african quarter horse named buddy right near a roadway because of anyone with information is being asked to call the sheriff's office there in sonoma county. and check this out. there was a major accident in oakland this morning that resulted in only minor injuries. this happened on the coolidge off-ramp on 5.80. you can see the cars there smashed up. fortunately all the drivers and passengers only have minor injuries. now to some national news in the u.s. trucking industry is saying it is short of a record number of drivers amid the supply chain crisis. our washington correspondent. reshad hudson has details now
