summit shopping malls across the bay area and what appears to have been a coordinated plan to stores at 2 different malls were robbed in the south bay kron four's rob fladeboe has details on that part of the story. >> santana row security guard jeff grant was on duty sunday evening when he spotted a commotion outside lululemon apparel a couple of doors away from the store. he was guarding. but got down there about 8 people come dashing out running across the street to my right with a bunch of items in their hands at about the same time in what appears to have been a coordinated strategy. at least 2 people robbed the sunglasses that store across the street at valley. fair mall. they were likely planning something bigger when they were spotted by security say police but whoever was waiting outside and multiple vehicles. let me add that it was just wasn't one or 2 cars. it was 4, 5, cars. they're playing to load all these cars fully with merchandise who knows. police say lululemon is out $40,000

>> okay. so this is who we're dealing with. these aren't just people that, you know, it's not a crime of opportunity, these very planned and organized. >> they are armed san jose. rob fladeboe kron 4 news a week ago today, a group of robbers were caught on camera storming into iceberg diamonds inside the sun valley mall in concord. you can see them right here smashing display cases before. >> taking off with stolen jewelry. no arrests were made in that robbery in fairfield 3 teenagers were arrested for a smash-and-grab robbery inside this town center in fairfield. this was on last wednesday. the robbers broke open the cases. they're still about $50,000 worth of jewelry. police tracked down the teenager said arrested them. and in san francisco's chinatown robbers broke into long boat jewelers and stole $250,000 worth of jewelry that happened last tuesday. no arrests have been made in that case. >> meantime, governor newsome says his administration is responding to the

smash-and-grab robberies that ravage retailers over the weekend. our capitol bureau reporter ashley zavala has that part of the story. >> look, i have no sympathy, no empathy whatsoever. people smashing and grabbing stealing people's items crane havoc and tear on our streets. not governor gavin newsome reacting after a weekend of ransacking in robbery at numerous retailers across the bay area. in response. he says you can expect to see more police presence in and around shopping areas that are highly trafficked around the holidays. newsome revealed his own business has been broken into 3 times this year. >> the governor promising to exponentially increase funding in the state budget to help prevent organized retail crime. we want real accountability. >> we want people prosecuted and we want people to feel safe this holiday season. >> mayhem before the holiday season happened over the weekend. in walnut creek where investigators say a mass robbery involved 80 people looting a nordstrom. i wouldn't even. >> characterize organized crime. that was domestic terrorism. rachel michelin is

the president of the association. she says is organized crime in california continues to rise. law enforcement retailer, state and local leaders must come together on solutions including potentially strengthening the laws against organized retail crime. the association is also requesting an expansion of the state's organized retail crimes task force, which relaunched in july. some of the solutions may be uncomfortable. >> and so we're going to have to have uncomfortable conversations and we're going to have to look at some of the laws that are on the books. obviously they're not working. a lot of the solutions we're talking about or not. >> short term really immediate solutions. and i'm wondering what could be the consequences if some of just take too long to implement my peers. we will continue to see these types of displays in crime from a not to be happening across the state of california at the state capitol. ashley zavala kron 4 news. >> former raiders wide receiver henry ruggs will remain on house arrest after almost missing required alcohol test after that deadly

car crash where he was accused of being drunk ruggs was made to appear in court today because he missed a warning to take the required alcohol test. he says he didn't hear signal on a special monitor that informs him. it's time for a test. he's required to take 4 tests a day. an attorney says he did end up taking a breath test. a couple of hours later, which was within a grace period remain on house arrest. ruggs was made to wear not only a gps ankle monitor but and alcohol level monitor as well. and the judge warned him. if there are any more missed tests or of any alcohol is detected in his system. it would be, quote, problematic for this court going forward. >> now to 4 zone forecast as we take a live look outside at the beautiful golden gate bridge. a lot of traffic on the bridge some time. yeah. people out shopping getting their thanksgiving turkeys all. but we're going to find out what's going on with the weather was rebecca strom rebecca. >> hey, guys. well, at least it's a safe on the roadways.

no rain in the forecast and we're definitely seeing temperatures, not a whole lot of movement outside right now. we saw a pretty much mild even warm day today around the bay area. so lots of sunshine that we were able to enjoy. thanks to all the high pressure that's been building around the bay area. now temperatures, though, are start going to start cooling off and feel more normal for this time of year outside right now they're nice and clear. this is our live camera overlooking san francisco international airport here and looking ahead this we can expect tonight mostly clear skies tonight. but we could see just a couple scattered clouds coming in during the overnight hours. it's going to cool down to the 40's across much of the bay area and the breeze is going to start to kick in late tonight and then follow through early tomorrow temperatures reaching into the 60's as far as the highs go. so a little bit cooler that we're expecting tomorrow afternoon the what we saw today, but it is going to be a quite breezy up to 20, maybe 25 mile an hour. a gust of wind that we're going to be seeing especially along the coast and in our north, a

berkeley hills there. so shot all the way across the bay and into san francisco lows overnight, though, getting chillier and chillier. we're dropping into the 40's tonight. even some 30's in our far north bay like santa rosa coming in at 36 tonight, a 49 in downtown open. we're expecting in 43 degrees and downtown san jose winds are going to be a factor as we get into late tonight and early tomorrow morning. so that's really going to feel a lot of from the one we felt today. in fact, we're going to see gusts of up to 20, maybe 25 miles per hour as we get through the morning hours and into the afternoon, especially at the coast and some are inland valley locations. if things are going to feel a cooler than what we fell today. plus, the temperatures dropping a little bit in 2 in the afternoon hours talking about those afternoon highs are only topping out into the 60's tomorrow. so find your neighborhood downtown san francisco 62 degrees tomorrow 63 with a lot of sunshine in oakland, but still breezy and

cool and 65 for the high in downtown san jose, your thanksgiving week. here's a look at your seven-day around. they forecast. we're going to get a lot cooler as we get towards the middle of the week and into thanksgiving. and then as we get into black friday, 60's will be the highs there into the weekend with a lot of sunshine. but look at those overnight lows, inland. we're dropping into the low 40's. and again, we could be seeing a lot of 30's as we get into wednesday and thursday could be waking up. it's a little bit of frost on the through the next couple of days. that's a look at weather. >> and now kron 4 sports. >> the sharks come into tonight's matchup with the hurricanes losers of 4 of their last 5 games. they got off to a great start to the season, but it's been kind of a drag as of late. what other time to turn around the fortunes them tonight. and guess what, kron. 4 sports reporter kate rooney. she is live at the shark tank with a preview. kate.

>> hey, jason. yeah. you said if the sharks got a few high this season but lately some lows and now there are 17 games into the season. a few trends are starting to merge the biggest trend right now is that the sharks need some help scoring goals. after all, it is hard to win games without scoring goals in the sharks have scored just 8 in the last 5 games. as you said, they also lost 4 of those matchups. they're averaging just over 2 and a half goals per game. that's 25th and the nhl not great. so santa knows that even though there are these and flows. they have to start figuring it out and figuring it out fast today. they recall the rookie from the developmental league san jose barracuda scott reedy is the leading scorer for the berry could out. he's second among all rookies in that league. and today it was a left wing jasper weatherby said that he was really doing its best to turn the scoring drought into a positive thing. >> every team is going to go to some kind of how you handle

so for us it's a great learning loss and we can look at some of those games and say, hey, this is how we get to our identity is how we can win so it's i think that, you know, having this could be a blessing in disguise. i'm just, you know, how do we respond how we learn at the end of the day, it's a you know, you can when you can show off and then those lessons and make those improvements and adjustments. you're going to get better hockey team down the stretch. >> so here is something worth noting the sharks or playing without their leading goal scorer from last season. that's a cain who is currently serving a 21 game suspension for violating nhl covid protocols. his suspension is set to be over in about a week. but there still hasn't been any word from the team on whether he will actually rejoin the sharks. we're definitely keeping an eye on that story but for tonight, there's still a game. the puck drops 7.30 is the sharks take on the carolina hurricanes here at essaibi center. jason, back to you. >> thanks for that report,

kate. yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens with cain got busted for that fake covid card. it's been a lot going on down there and with forty-niners. they won 2 games in a row for the first time since september 19th when they beat the philadelphia eagles. now they sit at 500 and they are right back in the thick of a playoff race. but despite the recent success, they still have to tighten up on the lot next week. the minnesota vikings will come into town who are equally as desperate at the niners. both teams sit at 5, 5, both teams coming off of a big win and both teams have playoff goals heading into this season. >> another is some things that we did just way we came out of both oides of the ball. you know, obviously the long drive off and started with just being able to throw the ball like that. and make 3rd been a number of that we need to get better at that. we're fortunate on the last play, you know, scored a kid on it that we were none of legal formation. there things we've got to clean up by no means was a perfect lot better this week out there.
