twos. >> that step up share what you know, if you saw anything that day. i know you're. >> now at night searching for answers in yet another senseless murder tonight. the family of a man killed for trying to stop a car break-in. it's going public as new clues are released in the search for his killer. thank you for joining us tonight on kron 4 news at 9. i'm grant lotus and i'm vicki liviakis tonight the family of 28 year-old eric davis is holding a vigil to remember his life. just days after he was shot and killed at lake merritt. first jonathan mccall talk to the family this afternoon has details on possible clues. yeah, you know what the family, as you just heard, his cousin say anyone with any type of information. >> they're begging them basically to just come forward to share anything that they may know tonight, oakland police are hoping anyone may know where to find this toyota rav 4. this is a picture put out by oakland police tonight.

it is wanted in the murder of 28 year-old eric davis. investigators releasing this picture this afternoon in hopes of being able to solve this senseless murder. here's a closer look at that suv. it is a newer model. toyota rav 4 28 year-old air davis was shot and killed sunday afternoon at lake merritt. investigators say he was simply trying to stop car crooks from breaking into cars at lake merritt. those who recalling his murder since list. tonight, family and friends gathering to remember his life, his girlfriend even offering her thanks to him for having the privilege of knowing him, family members say eric raised in southern california moved to oakland just a few years ago to start his life. his cousin kendrick told me today that eric had a number of goals that he was working on. she called him hard working and had a smile that everyone loved. she says right now they're close knit family at a complete loss for words over his last. she's calling for the violence to stop in hopes that someone will speak up with what they know. so they can bring justice for eric.

other students are in the hospital after police say their 15 year-old classmate opened fire on a michigan high school campus. a 15 year-old boy said to be the shooter. 3 or killed. a 16 year-old boy and 2 girls ages 1417 a teacher was grazed with a bullet. the of 7 students ranging in age now from 14 to 17 who are hospitalized tonight including a girl who is on a ventilator. investigators say there is still no clear motive. they believe the shooter acted alone. all right. switching it up here. we're going to check out our 4 zone forecast across force chief meteorologist lawrence karnow is here now with a look at a forecast that has been abnormally warm. yeah. very warm record breaking day. i think even warmer by tomorrow afternoon, this that time of year where things can snap back in a hurry. we may just see that as we get into next week. but now. >> enjoy clear skies around the bay area, the offshore winds trying to build. i think

that it's going to set the stage for what looks like a another warm one probably a record breaker for tomorrow. we did have one record go down today in san jose at 73 degrees breaking the old record of 72 set back in 2008. but all around the bay area the temperatures are running very warm under that big dome of high pressure really been persistent much of november and we'll continue to do so on the very beginning of december. at least you see all the storms well up in the pacific northwest, getting things dry here. but tonight, you've got a little bit of a sea breeze along the coastline. but now we're beginning to see a little northerly component. the winds there. see the air is moving out of the northeast as we're going to see more of an offshore wind kicking in temperatures outside right now. it's getting cool in spots in air is dry. 49 degrees in livermore, 49 now in dublin. you're going to 48 in petaluma 49 in santa rosa and 49 also senate some chilly temperatures overnight tonight, even down to 43 right now in the napa valley winds, they're really going to make the difference for tomorrow as we're going to see that

downslope wind see over some of the peaks now models start to pick up on the gusty winds developing over the north bay that will continue throughout the night tonight over the north bay mountains may be a breezy down below a little bit. and tomorrow morning waking up under clear skies that offshore wind has taken over the air is very dry and cold start the morning. we don't have the winds and then looks like we'll see that nice offshore flow. the better part of the day and then things begin to change as we head toward tomorrow. night. so tight going to be a clear and cool. a bit of a mountain breeze out there as well. tomorrow, sunny and warm and then more sunshine and dry weather ahead. although i think as we get into next week. all things are going to change. high pressure, though, still guiding all these storms well to the north. that will be the case for tomorrow. that offshore wind kind of setting in. and so these temperatures tomorrow, it's going to be something else. will be warm again around much of the bay area. these numbers soaring up into the 60's and the 70's, maybe even a couple low 80's by tomorrow afternoon. looks like we could see another round of some record breaking temperatures. but there's a hint that we may see some rain

today has been recognized nationally as giving tuesday kron four's, ella sogomonian is here to give us a highlight on a few bay area. nonprofits that could sure use a financial boost. >> hello, distant or grants that they may apply for nonprofits really rely on the generosity of donors and that's what giving tuesday is all about. >> as the team. christina, himself leaned on the rainbow community center in concord for support. now he's helping others as an hiv outreach manager saying without this nonprofit, i probably wouldn't right now in center has been providing resources for the lgbtq community since 1995 today. the nonprofit reaches more than 1000 people every year all across contra, costa county. they provide access to housing funding clothing toys during the holidays and mental health services. so giving tuesday is a big deal for them donations from t community ment

to keep their good work going black friday is all about shopping. all about supporting consumerism. >> but giving tuesday is about us caring for each other. us being community-minded us taking care of our neighbors. it's a beautiful idea. and this is the first time we've ever participated to hear from neighbors who have been impacted by our work and now they want to give back the volunteers at home. he's empowerment for once troubled youth themselves. who participated in the program turned away from gang life and now gives back since the pandemic their work has shifted to handing out food clothes, supplies and $1000 to those in need freedom store serves on average. 400 individuals and families weekly in the north bay napa, wildlife rescue runs purely on volunteers grants and donations to help orphaned or injured animals. wildlife is in crisis. it has been in crisis across the world for some time. we've lost about 60% of the wildlife worldwide since 1970.

as some other hygiene products. all donated to help families coping with financial stress brought on by the pandemic as well as dealing with living in the bay area. we had enough stock for i think we had 40 families for a month. the ability to give that many diapers out. >> heather says to make matters worse. the divers were part of a collaboration. it's expensive. number one for a small organization like mine to be able to offer this in supply bank. dot org actually gifted these diapers and these because we're starting to become partners with them and looking at how we can sustainably purchased. diapers throughout the year to be able to offer to our families, have their explains while it may not seem significant to lose diapers. it is a much bigger issue. people make choices they make choices between i'm buying food or buying diapers. and if they don't have

diapers, then the kids can't go to day care. they can't go to preschool. they have to have sanitary supplies to be able to go. and so this impacts the family's ability to go to work, which impacts their ability to make more money to be able to support themselves. and this resource that we were able to offer to families is a very important piece because it's not typically provided by any aid that's out there either. did receive some items tuesday to replenish their vanquished storage, but they have a long ways to go if someone were wanting to the best way to help truthfully is monetary donations because we will then purchase from supply bank and be able to buy wholesale cost us a lot of county sheriff's department is investigating. heather says that they are replacing locks and trying to improve on the security there at the fairgrounds. in the meantime, if you would like to

>> the san francisco homelessness is a very visible problem. many people in the streets are suffering from mental health and drug issues. that will today a city officials provided an update on one of the programs that they hope will help out. people in need proffers charles clifford has details. >> well, it's been a year since the city of san francisco launched its street crisis response team today,

mayor breed and city officials provided an update on the program. the crisis response team is a joint effort between various city agencies and partners with the goal of helping people. we're suffering from mental health problems or substance abuse issues the idea is that instead of sending police officers to every situation. the crisis team can provide a more tailored response by sending the appropriate services based on the needs of the individual. the mayor says that since the program launched a year ago. they responded to more than 5,000 calls for help. >> as a major city. that's a very dense city. we know that their problems and challenges we have to face. but i got to say i'm so very proud and grateful to all of our public safety officials who are doing the work on the ground to try and keep people safe. i'm grateful to them for showing up in despite dealing with some of the most challenging of circumstances every single day. they still show up. >> the mayor also said today that in the upcoming city budget. she is pushing to add hundreds of additional beds to

the involved parties stuff to in oakland. police are investigating a violent carjacking that sent a person to the hospital early this morning happened just after midnight. >> 400 block of the market air west. the suspect reportedly approached the victim with guns drawn before demanding keys to the car. they then pistol whipped the victim before taking off in the stolen car. the victim was taken to the hospital where he was last listed in stable condition. oakland's police chief is addressing the huge challenges his officers are facing every day as the city promises to add more officers to the force. there have been 127 homicides in oakland so far this year. chief leronne armstrong says that he hopes that recruiting and technology will help us department tackle crime kron on's rob nesbit and kron four's. rob misspent has been following oakland's response. the spike in violent crime. chief armstrong says videos captured by witnesses on their cell phones is helpful, but he wants more

the government's interest in reducing gun violence. the 7 to 4 ruling upholds to laws sb 1446 and proposition. 63 both crackdown on magazines with more than 10 rounds of ammunition. the original lawsuit was brought by groups representing the state's gun owners. they've not said whether they plan to appeal the case to the u.s. supreme court. along the peninsula scott peterson has been moved off of san quentin's state prison, death row and he's been booked into the san mateo county jail in redwood city ahead of a re sentencing hearing. peterson was booked into the county jail without bail is likely separated from the jail's general population of inmates peterson has been living on death row for nearly 2 decades for the 2000, 2 murders of his pregnant wife lacey and their unborn son, connor, his death sentence was overturned by the california supreme court last year peterson will be sentenced next week on december 8th.
