executive action to make sure that they can get these progressive goals in place reporting live in washington. i'm basil john based what are republicans saying. >> well, there has been commentary from republicans while this whole issue has been going on between democrats. >> and senator joe mansion, the latest that we did see is that we got a statement from congressman mike kelly pennsylvania and he said that what west virginia senator joe manchin sees as a problem and build back better is the same thing. the republicans both the house and the senate solve the problem months ago. he even concluded his statement by saying, quote, republicans would like to have a seat at the table to find a compromise on some of these issues to best serve the american people. so you have some republicans who are extending their hand. they want to come to a compromise with democrats. but democrats are likely not going to take republicans up on that offer because they want to keep their progressive plans with in that bill. they see a lot of this as progress and they
