the rematch taking center stage. the fight described by some as one of the best in ufc history. randy has highlights. a hectic night for police investigating two separate homicides. first, a body was found in the backyard of a northeast valley home. then a fist fight turns deadly. good evening, everyone. we start with a gruesome discovery in the backyard of a valley home, a man shot to death and his killer on the run. it is our stop story. we start off at med try headquarters. >> first homicide of the day. a man in his 30s was shot and left for dead at an apartment complex.

shooter. a grizzly discovery on colby lane, a body face down in a backyard, neighbors horrified. >> i heard at least eight shots. >> at least four hours passed until detectives were called to the scene. >> there is about six people reporting they heard gunshots, they didn't hear any yelling, screaming, nothing about a vehicle in the area. gunshots are common, it wasn't dead at an apartment complex. >> he was deceased. by the time the police arrived here around 11, i'm not sure, but he had been out laying on on the ground for some time. >> this death could have a connection to gang activity. >> we have a gang many else that

progress to report on the blue cut fire. the department of forestry and fire protection says the blaze that has burned 37,000 acres is now 73% contained. the voluntary evacuation orders remain in place for 7,000 residents. mostly around the areas of rightwood and little creek. at the height of the fire 82,000 people were under evacuation orders. six people are without a home. firefighters got a call just before 5:00 this morning to the area of sahara. the living room and kitchen of that residence were gutted. investigators do believe the fire started in a living room. no word, however, on the cause.

arizona police dog passed away. he died saturday morning at a critical care facility in las vegas. the canine officer assisted searchers after two injured hikers became stuck on the top of a mountain range in arizona. he showed signs of heat exhaustion and was transported to a clinic despite showing signs of improvement, he trauma. he had been with the department for one year. today family and friend and firefighters joined together to mourn the loss of 26-year-old jump beeb. hundreds lined the road into a park. one week ago he was killed while

there are thousands of homeless high school stoups, st, many in need of clothing. there was a sin some of these children in need today giving many an opportunity they may not have had otherwise. it helps more than 25 homeless kid across the las vegas valley. tonight we are talking about the possibility of rain. jerry says light showers, passing through the valley right now. they moved through. they came in from the north. let me show you right now.

this is down in henderson. you can see the cloud moving around, sunset. we had cloud on and off today. still hit 106 officially. we had a broad low pressure across southern nevada and the southwest. but dryer air up there did keep the rain out. look at this, we have got wind stained from the south southwest 24 miles per hour. it's 90?. theye 39 miles per hour. one more and they were tropical storm strength. cooler on the west side. 87, wind not a big deal. look how low the pressure is, it's come up. lower still here at our downtown studios, 91? here in downtown las vegas. as we look around the area, i can see a hundred in death valley.
