nevada/arizona border is where we're focusing tonight. kelsey thomas reports on the search and the clues for her name. >> reporter: the search for justice begins here, in this secluded desert just off u.s. 93 outside of white hills, arizona. this is where her body was found. but who is she? that's the question everyone wants answered. the sun beats down on the open desert. t there's no structures. there's no infrastructure. >> reporter: interrupted only by passing drivers, it's this empty stretch of land where a teenaged girl was left to be forgotten. >> we need to find out who she is. >> reporter: to this day, the girl found dead on the side of the road in september is still without a name. >> she's known as jane doe. >> reporter: for the first time, we're seeing her face. these newly released images could be the answer to figuring out who she is.

recognizes her. >> reporter: this detective is with the mohave county sheriff's office. >> was she murdered? >> there was foul play involved. we're treating this as a homicide. >> reporter: she could be from anywhere. >> thank you. >> reporter: white hills, arizona is a popular pit stop for drivers going between las vegas and southern arizona. for now, jane doe is an african-american or biracial girl. 13 to 17 years old. she's 5'7" with no tattoos or scars. >> it did appear that she had been placed there by someone. she didn't get there on her own. >> reporter: with little else known, there are no tears. loved ones cannot mourn her. her family may be searching for her but who she was remains a mystery. >> anyone that is -- has met this fate deserves a name and to

proper -- to be buried properly. >> reporter: have you have any information, we have a phone number to call on our website, kelsey thomas, news 3. the driver of the school bus that crashed in tennessee reportedly called his mother moments after it happened telling her he had been in a drastic crash. some kids also say before the crash, he asked them if they were ready to die. jonathan walker also his mother he there was too much blood. walker is under arrest accused of causing this accident. police say the bus was speeding and crashed into a tree. six children remain in critical condition. >> the most unnatural thing in the world is for a parent to mourn the loss of a child. there are no words that can bring comfort to a mother or a

criminal side of the investigation, the ntsb will evaluate the bus safety issues it brings up and how to protect kids moving forward. that's an investigation that could last up to a year. >> the former gymnastics doctor with team usa is arrested and charged with sexual assault on a child. prosecutors say that child was younger than 13 years of age. larry nasser was arrested in michigan. his lawyer called the arrest an attack without warning. prosecutors say the abuse happened at his h reports of alleged abuse in michigan. reports starting coming in after he was sued for abuse that they claim happened in 1994 and in 2000. he's been released after posting bond. the man accused of murdering a san antonio police detective says he did it because he was mad about the custody battle over his son. reporters were able to talk briefly with otis mckane as he was being led away by police.

some of toyota see ennons got a recall. there is a potential problem with the sliding door. it can open while the car is in motion. this recall involves about 744,000 from model years 2011 to 2016. toyota is working on an remedies. after nine days a skilled electrics comes to a c rescue. >> fat boy, the cat, got up there and couldn't or wouldn't come down. fat boy was up there about 45 feet in the air during a rain storm. high winds. his owner said she tried the fire department and other agencies and no one would help her. >> fat boy seemed okay when he came down. like any fat boy, he was hungry. he had to eat.

it was a great day if you had a chance to enjoy some of the sunshine. by late in the afternoon, a few high, thin clouds working their way. that's it. kind of lit up the sunset for a brief moment. might get a couple of clouds during the afternoon hours. out of red rock, cumulus clouds trying to form. they didn't have much luck. i imagine there will be a few people hiking during the holiday weekend. elkhorn, 59 degrees and calm. but 35% humidity. fenn right now and across the mountains over the hump where it's 50 degrees at the high school in pahrump. and 53% humidity. it's 50 at soush highlands. summerlin is at 51. those numbers will start tumbling but shouldn't be too cold for tomorrow. upper 50s in the mountain. mesquite is coming in at 54.

in the 40s. mid-50s by 8:00 a.m. mid-60s by lunchtime before pulling back in the afternoon and the breeze does pick up. we're expecting those winds. for the most part they will be light. they will be sustained around 10. but they will be gust when the front comes through about 29 miles an hour. maybe 30. look closely. you might be able to see these high, thin clouds. awfully thin to be detected by the satellite. but the front itself, yet another wet system that will our impact will be the wind. we'll feel it out of the southwest. on the back side, thanksgiving will be warmer. reno 46. salt lake, 41. high temperatures, tomorrow, phoenix should hit 72 and southern california around the big 7-0. in southern nevada tonight,
