a woman has died after being thrown from the horse. they were on a trail ride 3 pm yesterday afternoon in the open space when her horse apparently slipped and then fell down a ravine. paramedics were called but were unable to save them. both the woman and her horse died at the scene. an employer that was attacked by an alleged shoplifter has been moved out of intensive care and is expected to survive. we are told that the attack took place in a safeway in safeway's richmond neighborhood. >> at 12:15 am, a safeway worker was attacked when he tried to stop a shoplifter from leaving the store. >> the employee washed an adult male walked out of the store

with a basket full of merchandise.>> police said the suspect stabbed the victim while his dog bit him several times. when is a steady worker is a 39- year-old produce clerk who was transported to the hospital in life-threatening conditions. he is not inspected to survive.>> we were all worried that he may lose his job over this. >> a safeway worker did not want to appear on, but she told us that despite his good intention, his actions go against company policy. requires employees not to chase after shoplifter. >> it has been a recurring problem from what i know in the last several months. a store manager was assaulted. >> neither of those employees reported the crimes to safeway

back to the terror attack in manhattan. a man in a rented truck ran over people on a busy bike path near the world trade center memorial. tonight, a note was left in a drug pledging allegiance to isis. investigators say that sayfullo saipov got out of a car with a paint gun and a pellet gun and shouted allahu akbar . eight people were killed in the attack. five of the victims were visitors from argentina. another 11 people were hurt. police sought the 29-year-old suspect. he is expected to survive and face charges. the dodger stadium observed a moment of silence for the victims of that attack. now to washington where the

white house downplayed the role of the former campaign aide who pleaded guilty to lying to the fbi. he is not cooperating with the special counsel investigation in possible ties between the trump administration in russia. we have reaction from washington., president trump continuing to distance himself. he insisted the charges have nothing to do with him or his campaign. the former trump campaign manager both played not guilty to charges including money laundering and conspiracy against the united states and feeling to register as foreign agents.>> unfortunately for the campaign, we do not have the ability to do those types of background checks like when you are required if you are a government employee. >> also charged as a former trump campaign associate.
