october. now it's really year-round. temperatures rocketing up on saturday. and then at least we have some good news. temperatures are coming down a little bit. once you get to summer, it's tough. westerly direction, for most. west, southwest, except for lake county. lakeport, due west. we will take that westerly wind. we will take the higher humidity. temperatures today are coming down. the wind is decreasing. still about some the right now. more on that 5-10 mile-per-hour range. still 90 degrees. by 3:00, humidity 20%. at least -- we will take any piece of good news we can get. we try to keep it quiet for a couple days. it does look a little warmer tomorrow. 50s, 60s on th everyone is stuck here. 57 los ry thick fog.

there are pockets of that. that may impact you if you're heading up. robust, fresh-cut delta wind. -- fresh, delta wind. that's exactly what happened. big drop on sunday. we continue that today. it looks like a little warmer. a little cooler. hints that maybe by the end of the week, we will warm up again. 50s, 70s, and 80s. 4:32. good morning, sir. >> good morning, steve and happy monday to you. right now the traffic is moving along pretty well on 80. we are going to start with the solano county super commute. the traffic continues to move well. no major issues driving on 37 getting over to marin county. also, looking at the carquinez bridge and the benicia bridge that traffic is moving along nicely.

it's going to take you just a little more than 60 minutes to drive from the carquinez bridge to the maze. that's pretty much as good as it gets getting out of the bay bridge toll plaza. there's a little but of a backup. for the most part, it's a very nice drive. let's go back to the desk. this morning, the fire in lake county continues to burn out of control. it started in the community of clearlake oaks saturday evening. it has burned 7700 acres in at least -- and at least 12 buildings. authorities have issued mandatory evacuation orders. now, one woman what been told to leave state as long as she could. that she eventually lost her home to the fire. ktvu's leigh martinez spoke to her. she said that woman said firefighters did not at quickly enough or do enough to protect her home. >> my house is about to [ bleep ] burned down. jesus christ. >> reporter: tracy woke up into a nightmare. she had fallen asleep after gardening, not knowing that fire had looking at at 5 pm 30 in eastern lake county. >> the first i became aware of

it was at 7:30 when i saw smoke and that's when i called 911. >> reporter: the operator told her there was a mandatory evacuation order for her area of cache creek road. gatlin and her neighbors new fire is on the other side of dough trail. but fire crews never came. >> i had both jets. i had four streams of water. i have them on my roof. i tore everything away for my house. i closed all my windows. >> reporter: gatlin says she ran down the hill and found cal fire cruz. >> at least 10 cruz. i said i'm not leaving. can you -- will you help me with my property? and they said that we can't do that. we can't promise that. it's a mandatory evacuation. >> reporter: unwilling to leave her house, gatlin went back up alone. >> i was up on a mountain fighting that fire on my own. my neighbors and meet were down

there fighting. cal fire sat down in those vehicles doing nothing from 9:00 till 11:30, 11:45 when the fire crested the ridge. >> reporter: at that point, gatlin says she knew it was over. >> it was when i heard it, i knew i had to go. and iran. >> reporter: she said she had 15 photos of her burned cabin. by 8:00 if anyone, cal fire ordered an aggressive air attack with helicopters and planes dropping water retardant as fire burned on both sides. >> we have 600 homes threatened at this time. we know that residents have been evacuated out of this area in the past. they are eager to get back in. right now, given the conditions, we just need them to be patient and definitely heed the warnings, do remain evacuated. -- to remain evacuated. >> they said the fire was

moving slowly and not to a. and then they told me it had not made it through the valley. >> reporter: she believes at least five homes in her neighborhood burned saturday night. >> i begged for help. i screamed for help. and i just can't believe that they just let us burned. >> reporter: when we asked cal fire to comment on gatlin's claims, we were told the incident commander planned to call gatlin directly and investigate exactly what happened. in lake county, leigh martinez, ktvu fox 2 news. >> 4:36. some of the most potent weapons used are the firefighting aircraft. that includes a supertanker. when the pilots of the 7:40 the fire they are headed to. that is done by pilots in smaller aircraft very close to the fire.

they act as scouts. the direct all the aircraft to where they're needed most. >> it's like an air traffic controller in the air. what they do is they determine what they need on the ground to the aircraft. they determine where to drop. >> on the bigger fires, there could be as many as a dozen aircraft of different sizes battling the flames. the pilots pinpoint the eardrops. that makes it important to have someone else overseeing their flight path. the bay area has only one air tanker base. it's in santa rosa. six aircraft are based there. two people are recovering from smoke inhalation after a destructive wildfires in antioch. temperatures were in the triple digits. it quickly spread to more than 50 cars were destroyed in the fire. it began as a r conditions coul that fire harder to fight.

>> the conditions are ripe for a fire to start easily. had we had cooler weather and high humidity. it's harder for things to ignite. >> firefighters called in planes and helicopters to drop water on the flames. they stayed at the scene overnight to put out any hotspots. santa rosa, three people are in the hospital after a shooting last night. it happened about 8 pm in the neighborhood. police received several 911 calls reporting gunshots. when they arrived, they heard one more shot. the woman inside the house called to tell police there were several people inside when a man walked in and started shooting. the sonoma county sheriff's office s.w.a.t. team was called and. they worked oua to rescue the people inside the house. later, they found out the suspected gunman was the estranged husband of the homeowner and the people inside were the son and daughter-in-

law of the homeowner. that gunmen is in the hospital in critical condition. two other people are being treated for non-life- threatening injuries. good samaritans rescued two people after they saw a car crashed into the berkeley marina. the driver of that car ended up assaulting one of his rescuers. witnesses say the car drove off a ledge and into the water yesterday evening. a man in a nearby car said he heard screaming. he immediately jumped in. calla sailing club was also out on the water and saw the incident. they helped pull the two people into the car. >> we were teaching people how to sail. our car went right off of that ledge and before we knew what happened, we went out and they started pulling people out of the car. >> they arrested one ofthe pol

body cam video from las vegas. it's from last fall's deadly mass shooting at a music festival. you can see that chaos as the police arrived at. a judge ordered the release of this latest video after getting media requests for it. look at this. it gives a very graphic view of people hiding behind whatever they could fine and laying on the ground trying to avoid being shot, screaming desperately for help. more than 22,000 people have packed the route 91 music festival in october when a gunman opened fire, killed 58 people, injured more than 500 others in the worst mass shooting in modern u.s. history. protesters announced the deadly shooting of a black man by police. they have recovered the man's gun. >> lives matter! black lives matter! >> protesters delayed the start

of the pride parade after police shot and killed 31-year- old man saturday night. police say he was firing a handgun as he walked down a city street. authorities plan to released the name of the officers involved in the shooting after both have been interviewed. 4:41. police in petaluma arrested a man who they say traveled from southern california to have sex with a 13-year-old girl. yesterday, 24-year-old brent was arrested in a playground, where investigators say he was waiting to meet that goal. they say he visited the arrest came after a three- month online sting operation. with the permission of the girl's parents, police posed as the to talk to him on

welcome back to mornings on 2. 4:45. we're still tracking all the new developments from the pawnee fire in eastern lake county. still out of control. it has burned 7700 acres. last night, powerful winds pushed the flames across a wide area. a mandatory evacuation was ordered. 3000 people have been ordered out of that area after 12 buildings including some homes have burned. there's more this morning that the white house is working on setting up a meeting between president trump and russian president vladimir putin. national security advisor john bolton is in europe with stops scheduled in london, rome, and in moscow. a spokesman says the visit to moscow is to discuss a possible

meeting between the president and president putin. reportedly, the meeting would be plant around the time of president trump's trip to the uk and the nato summit in mid- july with vienna a likely location for that meeting. new this morning, harley- davidson says it will shift production overseas for motorcycles to be sold in the european union because of rising costs from new tariffs. the european union retaliated with tariffs against harley- davidson after president trump imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from the eu. there was speculation the eu specifically targeted harley- davidson because the company is based in wisconsin. the home state of house speaker paul ryan. harley-davidson has opposed president trump's tariffs fearing retaliation just like this. in filing, the company says that you tariffs on its motorcyclists -- motorcycles jumped from 6% to 31%.

4:46 is the time right now. let's go back over to sal to check on traffic. what are you keeping an eye on, sal? >> the altamont pass, for one, guys. it has built in. if you're driving and was been 580, you can see traffic is going to be slow after 205. and 205 tracy area is also slow as well. so there's not really a break. this is the ordinary slow traffic of every day. once you actually get into the livermore valley, it looks much better. we have a little bit of an early crowd here at the toll plaza in the cash lanes. it's less than a five minute delay really. but there is a small delay once you make it onto the bridge. it looks pretty good. i always like to talk aboum for is all. -- at all. that's a perfect transition to my friend, mr. steve paulson. >> but there are some where it is, sal. out to fairfield. you get some of those long

commutes. thank you, sir. we get right to it. on lake county, some good news. it's still going to be in the 90s. more of a westerly breeze. except lake county, northeast. humidity, everyone else is west, southwest, or northwest. that's good. the temperatures are still pretty warm. certainly in the afternoon. really tough to cooled down. areas around the county this time of year. from 75 acres to over 7700 acres, just incredible. pawnee fire will have good news weatherwise. it's still going to be in the 90s. and get around that.midity is u 59%. thdown. 92. wind wester10. at least a little bit of good news. we will see a decrease in that breeze. relative humidity again. this morning, up around 50 have been 60%. it's going to go down 15-20. it looks like a cooler day

today for us. temperatures, though, again, they do this little roller coaster here. 50s, 60s on your temps. upper 60s for some. so kelly is in there. i mean, this is really close. santa cruz 59. there's not much of a different -- difference. some areas to the east, everyone is really close. just streaming. delta wind. for some, it's very windy. 41 up and truckee. 56-86. reno to lots -- las vegas. thei today because there's a system sweeping by to the north. that cooled us down. and then andown on wednesday. temperatures will have settled back to where they should be. 60s, 70s, and 80s after we just went through the roof there on saturday. came down big time yesterday. we continue that theme today.

welcome back to mornings on 2. here's the latest on the wildfire burning in lake county. east of clear lake. since it started saturday evening, it has now burned 12 square miles. that's five times as big as it was this time yesterday. crews this point. it is burning at a very steep valley. making it hard to fight. we know that some homes have been destroyed and 3000 people have been told to evacuate. we will get an update in just a few moments. people are talking about roseanne and her tearful apology about her controversial tweet. last month, in a tweet, roseanne compared a former

obama administration senior advisor to an ape. went there was public outrage, roseanne tried to exclusive, saying she was on ambien. when she made -- wrote that tweet. abc shut down the revival of roseanne's show despite it being so popular. in a podcast in view, roseanne admits she feels terrible about it. on thursday, abc said it will air a 10 episode connor family sitcom without roseanne. dinosaurs ruled the box office this weekend. jurassic world fallen kingdom came in as the number one movie in north america. it made $150 million in its opening weekend. worldwide, it made $711 million this opening overseas. earlier this month, fallen kingdom exceeded universal's expectations.
