we do know the statistics include a significant drop. the full announcement will be held at san francisco police headquarters at 12:15 today. the city of berkley is considering establishing an outdoor emergency homeless shelter. city council will be discussing the topic tonight at 6:00. the shelter could include climate controlled, wind resistant tents with wooden pallets, showered sanitation services and garbage pick ups. supporters say half of the city's homeless is not receiving sanitation services. the oakland mothers may now have a chance to buy that house. now at first, they said they wouldn't noesht with the women of moms for housing while they

it's back to school and work for people today. >> it still looks pretty decent in this first hour from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze. we had back ups all morning yesterday. yesterday was definitely a holiday con. today it looks already here in oakland. and no problems on the east bay commute right now also starting off very well. we'll keep you posted. what about today's weather. let's bring in steve back here. >> it's a very good question, sal. another system coming in. you know, the only thing that makes me nervous is usually we get dry spells. we've not had that yet. the forecast models are indicating early february wants to do that and then they took it away.

i hope not because we're running on a deficit of rain and we get a little bit but we don't get any big systems. we'll get some rain out of this system. a lot of cloud cover over us. some light rain to the north. reno 34. 54 down in las vegas. and 49 up in ukiah which is reporting some light rain as you can see. fort bragg even into lake county. that seems to be about the line right now. some of it's trying to work its way in. but that's a sign of things to come. for the morning commute it looks like north of the golden gate. south of that looks absolutely fine but this system will drag across this by mid morning and some of the projections are okay. they'll be more than that. less as you go south as this
