do our best to two out of three series of warriors recaptured home court advantage last night after beating the boston celtics by 10 last night at the garden after an epic performance by steph curry reporting 43 points on a sore foot to boot here to talk about game four in the atmosphere inside td garden, and the overall mood of new england is boston 25, fox sports director and a and an old friend . butch stearns. butcher you had a you had a late night last night, didn't you? frank you have to use the word old. everybody knows world. okay i look i am proud to be here with you, my good friend once again, and i'm proud to represent rude new englanders everywhere. okay well, we will get into that. but let me ask you this. you've seen some greats go through the boston garden. where do you size up steffes effort last night in the dubs big win and what really may have been his best final performance, maybe ever well,
7:47 am
i'm well aware of the stuff without kd stories and the team of that in this series, and the other things are at, um at stake for the warriors. so i think you and i know this all too well. if the worries win this series, it becomes epic. if not, it becomes a good game that he did. but how can you not be impressed with what steph willed them? to a win last night to me that that last night was the classic example. the celtics are the better team , and i'm not saying that as a boston guy, i think i'll nba people believe that they had the better season, but the warriors have been there done. that obviously, and last night was an example of the guys that wanted they've never had it. and when it was time to do it, calling on that experience, the guys who have been there the warriors led by steph and he's outplayed jayson tatum. that's why this series is tied. not 31, right? indeed the garden has all the banners there, but not quite the history of the old garden that
7:48 am
we covered years ago has that td garden kind of grown up a little bit with this series, you think and with all the other playoff games because it was nothing frank. not only has it grown up, but think about this td garden was the old government stripped down in the early nineties. there's a whole generation of celtics and bruins fans that don't know the old garden so i understand your question, but that's a generational question from you and me really didn't even know the old garden. so yeah, it's grown up. can we talk about being old again? yeah sorry. you're right. i'm a hypocrite. how about marcus smart? who is this guy? tatum and brown are incredible. we knew about them, but it seems. everyone of his 18 points came at just a critical time last night. he has been, uh, kind of the motor for that team. well marcus smart is draymond green on the celtics, and they're completely different players. marcus is a point card dream. green is an enforcer, but but marcus as the defensive player, he's a winning basketball player, frank, but he's odd button. he's a guy that was the

sixth overall pick in the draft . he's a very, very good player . email daca has been amazing with all these guys and made smart, understand that he's going to be the engine that makes this team go and turned him into a good point guard but still some of the shots he takes down the stretcher. maddening to celtics fan, but to me, he's a winning player, the end of the game. the end of the series. he makes more winning plays than not well, let's talk about draymond green because i know the celtic fans have gotten to know him, uh, rather unique way they've been throwing a few four letter words his way. with that in mind, i think it's all in good fun. can you describe a boston sports fan to folks here in the bay area because it truly starts at birth, doesn't it? yeah. i don't think boston sports fans are any different than any other city in being provincial and rooting for their team. however. we take sports differently here. you know, frank, you were here. it's
7:50 am
different. it's not better. it's not worse. it's just different. i mean, you can't go into a coffee shop in the morning without having somebody who isn't even a sports fan. talk to you about the game last night, and i don't think it's that way everywhere and in my experience when you go to different parts of the country, it's college football. it's all kinds of different horse racing. whatever. here, it's professional. sports boston college with doug flutie years ago went to magical places. as you know, people don't care. they only care about professional sports, and they only care about you hate us because you ain't us and they just take it to a different level and are they rude? yeah we are rude, but we're direct. we're going to tell you where we stand. i think draymond loved that. look back again at what happened last night. i think the warriors showed their experience by handling it the right way. honestly, i was worried. when i heard them after game three talking to a man i know they were asked a question. they didn't bring it up but spoken so much on the fans. i'm like you guys better focus on a little

bit on yourself. but they handled it unbelievable. i like dreamin. i respect dreamin. i heard bob ryan talking about him to last night. former boston globe columnist well known, he said, draymond is one of those guys that you you love to hate. but if he was on your team you'd love him to death, you know? well he does the dirty work, he let's step be stuffy. let's play be clay, which wiggins wiggins, doesn't he? oh, yeah, no doubt. well, let's talk about game five. back here at home court back in the in the warriors hands. how do you see the last three games playing out? well if you're i thought this series we're gonna go seven all along. honestly i did. i'll be out there sunday night and monday and then i'm all expecting to spend my father's day in san francisco. so it better be lovely, but the way i see it if i'm if you're a self experience, here's what you're rooting for. think about this frank, both the celtics and warriors. our undefeated after losses this year, the celtics r six and r. when the playoffs celtics haven't had back to back losses since march, so if it goes by

that the celtics will win monday night, the warriors will win game six in boston, and then after a loss. i like the self exchanges in game seven step, francisco believe it or not. yeah well, i kind of thought this would go seven to it sits. it reminds me of a game seven. you know, nhl stanley cup final . they just empty their tank after the regular season where a lot of these guys are just automatic. it's just been so fun to watch. full tilt basketball and made the best team win. butchie always a pleasure, my friend all the best, and hopefully frank, hopefully we can maybe grab a beverage while you're out here. okay that would have to be sunday night. touche alright. alright frank turns from boston 25 sports director out there. thank you, butchie. okay, frank. alright weather. take it away. alright good morning to all of you happy saturday. how about a cool down ? that's what's coming our way for your pay area weekend temperatures are going to drop off along the coast inside the

8:33 am
takeaway was that they're trying to tie donald trump directly to what happened that this wasn't just a spontaneous mob that formed because they were impassioned, uh and fired up by a speech, but that there was weeks of coordination ahead of time. and that donald trump failed to do anything for hours as the mob was ransacking the capital and instead was, you know, kind of encouragingo that kind of the before, during and after elements. uh and i also i think one of the big takeaways from watching that 1st 90 minutes was that the this congressional committee really does seem to want to argue. that the former president has criminal liability for what he did that day. i mean, certainly there there was no mincing of words and it really as it would sign out. it's very detailed, not just in time line, but in people. we know that the committee interviewed more than 1000 people, but we were talking
8:34 am
about you know the overall big picture. we're also talking about the individual people that we're kind of seeing coming to the forefront officer caroline edwards, you know, she was described as the first officer injured by rioters because and she was knocked unconscious. had a traumatic head injury, her testimony, describing it like a war slipping in people's blood, really takes you right down into i mean, we most of us watched it on tv instead of obviously actually being there, but when you hear the people who were in the middle of it, it does really. take you to a different place. it really does. and so that was sort of the balance that they were going for exactly what you just said, which is, you know, they have these powerful clips like we're seeing on the screen right now, but they also had these kind of much drier clips from depositions and interviews in conference rooms with various senior officials. and so they were kind of going back and forth, right? exactly the sedate testimony versus the
8:35 am
visceral imagery coming as you know, charges are being filed. we have seen multiple cases going through in the last week we had saw the proud boys, the head of the proud boys, enrique terrio and four others charged with seditious conspiracy. we heard from the filmmaker who really followed them around and did give us a different look. you know that video really prime part of this investigation. yeah it really. i mean, if you're if you're planning an insurrection against the government, it's probably not a good idea to invite a documentary filmmaker along yeah, it's really remarkable footage, you know, just c as we saw during this first hearing enrique terrio in the in in a parking garage meeting with, you know, so enrique terrio is with the proud boys in the head of the oath keepers. stewart rhodes was was also in this parking garage and they're talking. ah about what they're planning to do the next day, which does sort of
8:36 am
contribute to the charges of conspiracy that there was not a spontaneous different groups. exactly spontaneous going. oh, my gosh, we just got caught up in the moment before we go, though i want to talk about you know you. you mentioned trying to link this to the former president. what he did what he did not do what he has said about mike pence, saying maybe he deserved to hang. uh and things like that, as we go through subsequent hearings. we expect that to go deeper into that space. how effective do you think they are will be in presenting that not just in this hearing, but into the general american public and how it's viewed well, more than 20 million americans watched the first hearing on t v, which is a pretty good number for congressional hearing. and it'll be you know these these next ones will be in the morning. you know, seven a.m. pacific time on monday, for example, so i assume there won't be the same level of viewership, but the people who are really interested in this subject and want to kind of get to the bottom of what happened
8:37 am
will be tuned in. i'm told by people involved in the committee that they're going to keep these subsequent hearings pretty tight compared to you know, sometimes these can go on and on all day long. but i think they're going to try to keep all of these 22 or three hours so that they can hold people's attention and really tell a story in connect the dots well, certainly will be watching very closely. james hohmann, opinion columnist for the washington pros. we appreciate the discussion in your time this morning. my pleasure. and let's talk about those next hearings. they will come this monday and wednesday at seven a.m. dates of at least three more hearings will be announced at a later time. 8 37 now happening today. rallies are being held across the country in response to recent mass shootings. the events are being organized by students all part of the group march for our lives. it was established in 2018 following the shooting that claimed 17 lives at a high school in parkland. florida bay area demonstrators are being led by teens, including 17 year old lucy gets of concord high school . she hopes these protests will

8:41 am
beautiful view. the onshore breezes still fairly weak. it will be turning on a little bit later today and into the evening hours. here's the view from up above again a little hard to tell, but we've got some fog along the coastline, north bay coastline and seeing it patchy in and around the golden gate this morning as we get into the second part of the afternoon again, temperatures will be coming d3 mph, so it is weak. it has to be c very nice m the pacific t heat warning for solano county or the section of which includes parts of the bay area lasting until tonight. vallejo venetia fairfield in our communities right in there will be included in this and you can see where it's coming from the sacramento valley. so the national weather service at the sacramento valley course, governing this section here and continuing with that excessive heat warning, but it's not just this area inland cities again well into the nineties, you know, make sure you watch
