say independence is under attack in america. and new this morning, nato takes another step towards welcoming to new nations into the alliance. as the war in ukraine rages on. from ktvu. fox two news. this is mornings on two. good morning. thank you for waking up with us here in mornings on to pam cook. good morning. i'm dave clark. tuesday july 5th the day after all the fourth of july. active yes, so much going on, and it feels kind of warm outside. here's roberta with your forecast. excellent observation. it is a bit on the warm side and muggy side as well . right yeah, up is at 5 52, and as a son does make an appearance . we will notice a combination of some clouds along the coach and also submit in high level clouds streaming overhead. it is a stable weather pattern. what we received yesterday is pretty much what we have again today. there you have it. we're brightening up over the estuary, where temperatures right now are
5:32 am
in the sixties. it is 66 degrees of peace and concord and incent carlos sixties common across the bay area at this very early hour. meanwhile later today, numbers will spend for the sixties the beaches mid and high sixties and low seventies bayside. and then you notice that are ill and areas mid and high seventies a few low eighties, well below average for this time of the year. we'll talk about your warm up when to expect it. the details coming up, but right now, let's say a big good morning to the grand marshal at the fremont parade here, sal on. well thank you, roberta. and here i am doing traffic again at on a tuesday, the july 5th. it looks pretty good out there. i'd say so far anyway, i think we're gonna have more traffic than we had yesterday on 80 westbound looks pretty good getting out to the bay bridge toll plaza and no major problems here at the toll plaza. so you still have an opportunity to get out there before the huge crowd does at 5 32. let's go back to the headlines. all right. thank you,

sal. many people across the country decided to stage demonstrations on independence day we found abortion rights activists protesting in sacramento, los angeles, tampa and washington, dc all with a similar message, a call for action to ensure women can make their own decisions concerning their bodies and have access to abortions. activists here in the bay area also turned the holiday into a day of protest. ktvu s brooks jarocz caught up with those celebrating and demonstrating in san francisco. as thousands gathered here along the embarcadero in san francisco to celebrate america's birthday , a couple 100. others say this is not a time to celebrate, and a wake up call specifically a time of reckoning. what started as 1/4 of july rally for rights . fortunate man. ever apologies quickly spilled onto the streets

of san francisco protesters with a message. we're not all free anymore. so what is there to celebrate red, white and blue green, a sign of standing in support of abortion rights? after the supreme court overturned roe v. wade the millions of women that are sort of impacted by this decision. are they really free like, are those women free? i don't think so. so that juxtaposition between celebrating the freedom of the u. s and what millions of women are going to be subjected to now that roe v. wade is overturned is pretty stark. calling for nationwide legal abortion. but this crowd of a couple 100 says it goes well beyond that push toward equality for all americans since this country was founded, founded on a lot of injustice, and this is kind of the last straw taking aim and putting blame squarely on some supreme court justices. and recent controversial rulings . it's not just women's rights

that they're coming for its gay rights. it's marriage equality, its voting rights in some states the protections that people thought that they had aren't aren't here anymore. so it's a way to show those who maybe aren't as aware of what's going on. but this is a problem focus on more than just recent rulings, problems affecting all communities. gun violence, inflation, and what this group argues our basic human rights stripped away. it just gets worse every year. it seems like every time we think that it can't get worse it does. people are sleepwalking through this nightmare, which is why, instead of celebrating there peacefully fighting using their free speech and protest rights to make sure their voices are heard. brooks jarocz ktvu fox two news thank you. brooks time is now 5 35 police in the suburb of chicago, still looking for a possible motive for the shooting that left six people dead during the fourth of july parade. box

moisture in the atmosphere. so today will be a little bit drier. mitt still not as dry as the last week. we are bone dry into the teens, as far as our humidity is concerned, whether it's trough to the north of us, it's still spreading some light rain showers and throughout the pacific northwest and maybe even that northwestern quadrant at the state of california. we had a few raindrops yesterday and santa rosa. in fact, they reported officially a trace amount of precipitation. so here we go tonight you see the clouds still laden along the coast side and into the bay and then we start to see some mixing occur on wednesday as a trough exits. we see less cloud cover along the couch. but the cool air masses still surging down from that trough to the north of us what we call it and seasonably cool. in fact, typically this time of the year we should be at 88 degrees right around dublin and sam, ramon and pleasant and backing through livermore. but instead today 10 degrees cooler than that low eighties and morgan hill when we should be flirting with 90 degrees, we
