being evaluated after it crashed near nellis air force base. the crash happened just before eight this morning. the veteran pilot was going through a routine combat training exercise. the fighter jet was a "19-70 t-a four skyhawk" it was used by the military in the vietnam era. the pilot was alone when he self-ejected from the aircraft. he was sent to the hospital with onlyinor injuries and has already been released "we'll take every precautionary measure to make sure these accidents don't happen. although rare when they do we need to find out the cause of the accident and to take the preventative measures to make sure they don't happen in the future." other planes involved in the training were able to make a safe landing. no other injuries were reported. we are getting new reports out of rio de janeiro - that american swimmers ryan lochte and james feigen have been indicted they're accused of falsely claiming they were robbed at gunpoint over the weekend. steve harrigan has more from rio.
5:16 pm
intro) says: "rio's police chief says the us swimmers were never robbed, and they owe the city an apology." the activity of four us swimmers between 4am and 7am sunday has become a headline for a troubled olympics and the cause of a diplomatic dispute between brazil and the united states. six time gold medal winner ryan lochte first told nbc news that he and three teammates were robbed at gunpoint. lochte (on nbc "today") says: "the guy pulled out his gun he cocked it put it to my forehead and said get down and i was like i put my hands up i was like whatever he took my wallet." then the details changed. the gun was not held to lochte's head but "pointed in his direction," he said. their taxi was not pulled over by gunmen but instead lochte now said they were robbed while stopped at a gas station. brazil police tell a different story entirely - they say there was not a robbery but a dispute - between four drunk americans who trashed a gas station bathroom then tried to leave without paying for the damages.
5:17 pm
surveillance video shows the four athletes enter the bathroom, gas station employees come to the door then the athletes exit the bathroom, get in a taxi and try to leave. instead they are ordered, possibly at gunpoint, to sit on the curb. veloso says: "at this exact moment, what the police can say is there was no robbery the way the athletes reported. they were not victims of the criminal facts that they described. the police can say that now." ryan lochte left brazil before a judge here ordered his passport seized. two of the swimmers in the taxi, gunnar bentz and jack conger, were seated on board a united airlines flight to houston wednesday night. federal police removed them from the plane, interrogated them for four hours and seized their passports. now conger, bentz and a third swimmer, james feigan, are in brazil,

interrogation continues. they are not under arrest, have met with officials from the us consulate and have a brazilian lawyer. harrigan (on-cam tag) says: "the police chief says there is no further reason to hold the three american swimmers now that they have given their testimony, and could not answer yet whether anyone would face criminal charges. in rio de janeiro, steve harrigan, fox news." now fox5 weather 24/7, with chief meterologist ted pretty we'll pick up at least slight chances of showers and thunderstorms through tuesday of next week. friday's high of 102 will also have slight chances of showers. those chances stay in the slight category for saturday with a high of 100. better chances of showers and thunderstorms

david was proud to be an american soldier. and i know i'm prejudiced because he was my son, but i don't think he had a mean bone in his body. there is not a day that i don't think about david. i felt such a sense of outrage. "she was standing there, she had nothing to say..." if donald trump cannot respect a gold star family, then why would anyone in america think he would respect them.

nominee gary johnson. recreational marijuana supporters will be taking over billboards around the las vegas area before nevada voters head to the polls in november. the coalition to regulate marijuana like alcohol formally unveiled a billboard today - with the message "support schools - not cartels". the campaign says marijuana prohibition has driven money to criminals - but a ballot measure to legalize the substance could generate 20- million a year for nevada schools. "if we regulate marijuana instead of having a blakc be able to produce over 60 million dollars a year for education funding. we'll create more than six thousand jobs and if you take a look at what happened in denver, 70% of the black market is gone already. and their estimates are that 90 pecent of the black market activity will leave nevada if this passes." the billboard is the latest advertising move in support of question 2. supporters of the ballot measure have reserved more than 800-thousand dollars in t-v airtime at las vegas stations. commercials will
