takes a scary turn for a group of trick-or-treaters. police say they got into an argument with a gunman, who then opened fire on them. it happened around 11 last night at carey and mount hood, near sunrise manor. police say a car pulled up alongside the minors and there was some sort of fight. that's when someone inside the car started shooting. the three people who were hit, were treated at the hospital. they are expected to be okay. police are still searching for the

police are investigating an overnight stabbing. in an ally near 28- th street and east charelston. according to police... the suspect and victim got into a fight.. then the victim was stabbed once. he was taken to umc. his condition is not known at this time. this is a developing story.. and we will bring you more information as it becomes available. a woman has died.. after being hit.. while trying to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk. according to police.. the 41-year-old was walking near sunset and bermuda. when she was struck by a toyota. the woman was rushed to umc.. where she later died. the driver stayed on scene.. and is working with police. near lamb and sahara.. an elderly man was hit by a car.. while jaywalking across the streat. he was taken to umc.. and is suffering critical injuries. the driver of the s-u-v also stayed on scene. a valley student has been arrested. after police say he threatened to shoot up desert oasis high school.

but once they visited the teenager's house.. they found enough evidence to confirm a threat. police say they were tipped off by parents in arizona.. who overheard their own child talking about the plans. this is in part thanks to a parent that was being nosey. thanks to a parent that was paying attention. thanks to a parent that did not sit on the information and brought the information forward. the student's motive is still unclear.. but police say some of the items found in the student's room were hazardous materials.. including chemicals.. and bombs. as it starts to get cooler outside.. more coyotes are coming down from the mountains.. and into valley neighborhoods. they're more than just a nuisance.. sometimes encounters with the animals can be dangerous. according to the nevada department of wildlife.. the animals are coming down hungry.. looking for prey.. so its important to keep an eye on your small pets. chances are you have a giant bucket of candy this morning... some of you will eat it all... but if you don't want a tummy ache... give some back.. les krifaton joins us in studio with more on a buy- back program that involves dentists here at home and across the country. the 2016 halloween candy buy-back program is something i'll need to be taking part in. last night i was handing out candy on a one to one basis, one for them and one for me. needless to say many of us have more candy in our homes this morning than we

so it's the day after halloween and your kids are waking up to a stash of candy that you wouldn't even consider having in your home 364 days of the year. too much candy winds your kids up, it leads to obesity and tooth decay according to a program called operation gratitude launch. it's a halloween candy buy back program that involves dentists all across the country including some right here in the valley. here is how it works... for every pound of candy that kids bring into participating dentists offices, the child get paid a dollar. that candy is then sent to operation gratitude and it's sent the to our troops overseas. for the troops it not only boosts morale it's also something they can hand out to kids where they are deployed. so here is list of the dentists who are participating in the program this year according to halloween candy buy back dot com. here is a list of local dentists in henderson involved in the buy back program. here are some more in the greater las vegas area.

as you make up your mind, remember -- congressman heck voted 10 times to defund planned parenthood. he even threatened to shut down the government over it. heck took all that money from wall street and predatory payday lenders and voted their way. he even wanted to privatize social security, risking it on the stock market.

dan: if a bad guy breaks into my house, i have every right to defend my home. and i will. i have no problem with background checks and good decent americans have a right to bear arms. bad guys? criminals? the dangerously mentally ill? we've made it way too easy for them to buy guns. we have a loophole where dangerous people can walk into a gun show and buy a gun, no questions asked. after that, they could walk and i'd rather they didn't have a gun.
