good evening everyone, i'm amanda goodman and i'm ron steele. thanks for joining us tonight. our top story tonight -- a man is rescued from a burning building in the area -- only to arrested immediately after escaping the flames. here's a look at the early morning fire in waterloo -- fire crews responded to flames in the 900 block of commercial street. police in waterloo say the sometimes find people inside. this morning was no exception -- as they rescued the man from a second story window while putting out the fire in the 110-year old building. 44-year-old chad bruce was arrested for trespassing at the scene. he's out of custody tonight. kwwl's taylor bailey joins us live

" they did, they did save someone that was homeless" "it could easily be used for obviously squatters which in this case it was i mean it is other end what could you do about it?" the fire happening just after three in the morning... "i can see flames through a window inside smoke coming out" people who live near by--smelled the smoke "so i walked around my house to make sure it wasn't my house on fire and i was like it seems kind of late for someone to be burning leaves didn't think stand-up "
activity at this vacanat appartment building, one employee telling me people just walk by, wave to him and walk inside" those busineses have called the police--but they say the people keep coming back. "what do you do? you police these obviously, try to keep them out of these buildings but if the city continues to leave these buildings around it's gonna happen" businesses keep an eye on the building, if they see people inside they call police -- and officers want to remind you that going inside is trespassing. live in waterloo...taylor bailey...news seven...kwwl the cause of the fire is still under investigation. continuing coverage tonight -- as a woman broadcasts her

listen as she livestreams her interation with a cedar rapids police officer inside a popular coffee shop "we got the po po wearing the black thing on her badge, i guess she is sorry a couple of care at the university of iowa hopsital and clinics with a bullet in his neck from one of referring to an officer-involved shooting earlier this yet said whether the man was armed--but they do believe he started some sort of fight with the officer who shot him--the incident still very much under investigation. now the woman continues to cause a scene--as another officer comes in the door. "mam, i'm gonna ask you to step outside for me." "show me where it says i tresspassed." "they've requested that you leave." "who is they?"
moments later the the woman claims the officer is descriminating against her by telling her not to come back to the coffee shop. "how can i fight that unjust "says you, who the i mean w- t-f do you know yo? you wasn't here?" police eventually escourting her out-- but not without--yet another scene-- "don't touch me! don't touch me!" finally--they get her outside--the live stream--still going "i say bleeep the police forever more!" the woman--clearly showing no respect toward police officers-- and alarming scene happening right here-- in one of our local coffee shops.. the video--has more than 1400 shares on facebook. live in cedar rapids--kristin rogers--news 7 kwwl. we checked melyssa kelly's
tresspassing--inter ference with official acts and multiple incidents of disorderly conduct --for loud or raucous noise. iowa police say one person has died and another is in critical condition after a chase early this morning. the chase began around three-45 this morning in sioux city -- when a deputy tried to pull over a car. that's when the car turned onto another street, sped up and released tonight. a train derails near iowa's northern border -- forcing an entire town to evacuate. this union pacific train was en route to north platte, nebraska when it crashed off the tracks in southeastern minnesota -- near the town of ellendale. the evacuation was ordered because some of the train cars gas. no injuries have been reported
is continuing tonight. in a kwwl follow up -- thousands of dollars are raised for an area family after two teenage sisters die in a car accident. 16-year-old selena and 13-year- old bella perez died at the scene of the accident in linn county last week. they were on their way home from school with their mother and two other sisters -- one of whom is still in critical condition tonight. three scooter's coffee locations in cedar rapids -- holding a benefit for the family yesterday. manager that over nine-thousand dollars were raised for the family throughout the day -- not rallied behind the grieving family. coming up on kwwl -- no speed limiit on support. an eastern iowa man shows his love for veterans along a busy highway today. and a group of area dentists come together to offer free dental work to those who served on veterans day. and... here's a live look at the

right here in eastern iowa are being honored today. one man -- taking to the streets to honor their bravery and their service. he's been standing on area bridges since all day. he's holding an american flag. he says he's not a veteran himself. but the man -- simply known as clear. today isn't about him -- tom says he's saluting both the country and the brave men who fight to protect it. "what can you-how can you pay back for that? you can't. what i'm doing now is nothing, nothing at all. this is not about me, it's about them." saying he's dedicating today to his nephew who served two tours in

"i think we're becoming more and more appreciated. we weren't initially appreciated, but now i think it's becoming more evident, and i think it's great. it's great for our children and nation. i think we're deprived of that. so, we need to see that more and more."

dike-new hartford for the crown. union beat dike-new hartford during the regular season--- but the wolverines controlled the action early--- madison lavenz rips a winner... the d-n-h crowd is pumped... later it is bailee petersen with one of her match high 20 kills... dike-new hartford wins the first two sets. union battles back in the third set--after trailing 20-15.. the knights claw back... kara peter scores one of her 15 kills. union takes the third set. forth--- and finally on match point.. the woilverines come up with a championship block!! dike-new hartford beats union in four sets for the three-a title. it was pretty great with them beating us during the regular season--gave us that much more of a push movtivation to beat them now..and we knew it was going to be tight coming in and we played our game and we won the game. we just wanted to maintain and

definitely nerve racking you never know how a team is going to come and we came out like we had to take care of business and that is what we did. in 5a top ranked cedar falls meets two-time defending state champion ankeneye back set for grace burken for one of her 8 kills---the tigers still lost the first two sets. the third set was close--- mahi with a nice set for claire geerdes--she has a team high 9 kills. but ankeny centennial is too strong --blocking taylor lynch on match point... cedar falls is going to fall in straight sets----
