and 38% of those asked don't have a budget plan at all. research ahead of time particularly tapping into networks of family and friends can help avoid a more rushed and sometimes more costly decision later on. they also recommend consulting an employer for other options to save like flex time or any subsidized child care availability. parents can also consider a flexible spending account to save thousands of dollars annu annually on child care costs. i posted more information on cbsphilly.com and on my facebook and twitter feeds. reporting for three on your side, i'm jim donovan. you may want to stock up on hot sauce on the cbs3 health watch a new study finds eating spicy food may help you live longer. researchers found people who eat spicy foods every day have a 14% lower risk of death than those who eat it less than once a week. the pattern was similar in both men and women and stronger in those who did not string alcoh alcohol. you'll need something to
drink after all that spicy food and you'll likely reach for a bottle of water. in fact, more americans are ditching soda and buying bottled water instead. experts predict that by 2017 water sales in the united states will pass sales of soft drinks. reason people are much more concerned these days with what they're putting in to their bodies. anonymous donor has given a big boost to children in camden. >> over the past few years this donor has given $50,000 to north camden little league. this league is now grown to 520 kids from tee ball all the way to high school age and now the league is looking to expand to other parts of camden. >> we tend to struggle here and, um, and for someone to be so generous like this just like a blessing. >> despite the generous donation from that mystery benefactor the league says it is always looking for additional support to help get as many kids as it can on the feel. >> that's great. >> isn't that great. >> the game of life. that sports goes a long way.

it's just south jersey and into delaware you can see the camera shakinshaking there gusty wind s well. here the rain again from portions of ocean county all the way down into southern delaware and storms are kind of regenerating along this line so another round has fired up in eastern maryland that's going to come through delaware so i don't think we really clear this out for at least the next several hours. if you're down the shore probably best to just stay inside for the rest of the night some heavy rain and now lightning moving off the coast probably a pretty amazing light show there if you're in stone harbor, avalon, sea isle city still raining heavily there. the worst of lightning is now offshore but more rain and more lightning moving into portions of sussex county, delaware, and all this could lift up into the shore points before things are said and done. so bit of a messy night down the shore and in southern delaware you can see the cooler air thanks to that rain we're back into the 70s in atlantic city and wildwood. 70 in allentown take leak at mount pocono, 59 degrees there right now. 68 in cape may. the rain has real dropped the temperature there. stone harbor at 72. so we got to 93 again today our
normal high is 87. so we're not that far off normal. as far as heat waves go it wasn't the hottest heat wave we've ever had. but it has been an 8-day stret stretch. we're now at 22 days above 90 this year beats last year and it beats 2013. got a ways to go to beat 2012 and 55 days back in 2010 does not look like we'll hit that thank goodness. 8-day heat wave with the hottest days on either end last tuesday and wednesday and again today and yesterday. longest heat wave we've had for two years since july 14th to the 21st of 2013. but now we're saying goodbye to the heat wave. this front is clearing the coast tonight. high pressure builds in tomorrow is gorgeous. nice breeze from the north and west. low humidity. temperatures still in the 80s but perfect summer day. thursday is even cooler and then clouds and showers start to build in thursday afternoon and you can see most of the this rain will try to mess to us the south but it all depends which computer model you look at. this one keeps it off to the south but if we take look at the european model watch what happens the rain comes further
north and he is specially from the city on south we get the chance for pretty steady rain thursday night into friday. so that remains to be seen i think we have to plan for at leave the chance for rain thursday night. and some showers and clouds hanging around on friday. overnight partly cloudy comfortable 68 degrees and for your wednesday, just gorgeous 88, mostly sunny nice and warm and less humid down the shore looking great as well once we get the storms out. wednesday is mostly sunny and again less humid the high 85. your "eyewitness weather" seven day forecast, look at the difference here. thursday 82. friday 79 and the day shouldn't be quite as scary as the icon suggests there maybe a shower here or there and it looks like wee clear out in time for the week and with highs in the 80s. be sure to wake up with "eyewitness news" in the morni morning. meteorologist katie fehlinger will track tomorrow's weather our team starts at 4:30 a.m. right here on cbs3. >> hey that's a pretty good looking forecast for august. >> yes. >> 70s. >> gettingetting much better. >> i wouldn't mind a cloudy day in the 70s right now.
