wildfires have take an deadly toll in washington state. three firefighters were killed after their vehicle crashed after battling a fire. that's about 100 miles northeast of seattle. several other firefighters were injured. it's forced residents and tourists to evacuate. >> reporter: this flag is one of many now flying at half-staff in twist in honor of the firefighters who died battling a raging wildfire in the region. authorities in oak noggin county believe their vehicle was overtaken by a wind swept plain. >> they were just trying to do their job and there's times when things go bad but the fight has to go on. >> reporter: as the fires continued scorching the area they fled the town. thousands of people around the region have moved south for safety. >> i don't know how the government is going to pay for

it or how the people are going to rebuild and now there are no supplies. it's like horrible. >> reporter: firefighters are also trying to get a handle on another group of fires to the east. one that prompts an evacuation of people and cattle in the town of con con nully. with more hot, windy, and dusty conditions expected the tide could turn in a moment. natasha chen, cbs news. a new study says conditions will lead to bigger wildfires, extinct wildlife and dry farm towns. it will cost california's economy nearly $3 billion. farms will feel the most impact. 10,000 will lose their jobs. and parts of new jersey is drying out after severe flooding.

some drivers had to ditch their cars. a storm yesterday dropped up to 4 inches of rain. donald trump is posing a real threat in the race for the white house am new poll of registered voters shows the republican trails hillary clinton by just six points but trump took aim at fellow gop candidate jeb bush at a town hall meeting yesterday. he describes the former governor as low energy. in another nearby events bush accused trump of being a democrat in disguise. >> i'll tell you what. you know what's happening to jeb's crowd right down the street? they're sleeping. they're sleeping now. >> mr. trump doesn't have a proven conservative record. he was a democrat longer than he was a republican. he's given more money to democrats than he's given to republicans. >> the two candidates mostly differ on their immigration plans. >> more trouble this morning for

hillary clinton. cbs news has learned two e-mails on her private server contained classified information. the democratic front-runner has denied that on her campaign trail. jan crawford reports. >> reporter: the two e-mails the intelligence community says contained classified information were uncovered during the kbgs of the 2012 benghazi attack in libya that killed ambassador chris stevens and other americans. it was forwarded by aide uma abadin. the second e-mail forwarded by aide jacob sullivan outlined reports of possible arrests in connection with the benghazi attack. the e-mails are among some 30,000 clinton turned over to the state department from her private server. on monday the state department said it had flag third degree 05 e-mails out of the 20% it has reviewed as potentially contained classified information.

of traveling to new york city to pay for sex acts with minors. >> this isle wealth, status to exploit children. >> reporter: he's known of the child pornography of russell taylor. under the terms of the plea deal fogle has agreed to pay $100,000 in restitution to each of the 14 under age victims. he will also register as a sex offender. 37-year-old fogle became a household name more than 15 years ago as a pitchman for subway after he lost more than 200 pounds. subway no longer has a relationship with fogle and wednesday called his actions inexcusable. adriana diaz, cbs news, indianapolis. a massive car bomb exploded in cairo, egypt this morning.

the san francisco district attorney said wednesday the background checks failed to uncover criminal records of 25 california dribers. they included several registered sex offenders and a convicted murderer. working longer hours could raise your risk of a stroke. researchers report that people who work 55 hours or more per week have a 33% greater risk of stroke. they also have a 13% greater risk of coronary heart disease than those with standard hours. california is placed the best place to live in america. ventu ve ventura is one. next is humboldt. anne-marie? >> i wonder when that survey was taken. if it was takeen in january, i can understand why california has an edge but the northeast looks good right now. well t hackers who stole

information from the ashley madison website say they exposed millions of unfaithful partners. a statement from the hackers says that the website refused to close down, so now everyone gets to see their data. wyatt andrews reports. >> reporter: some of the names and e-mails are fictitious but still millions of marriages could be in peril as spouses learn what that late night shopping has really been about. >> they weren't counting on a hacker to obtain that data. >> reporter: kim detta reports to another problem. around 15,000 of the e-mails traced to u.s. government accounts including state department and justice department and to top secret defense contractors including rakt on. >> if those are legitimate, if the activity can be matched with real people in government and people who might hold sensitive office, that creates the potential for blackmail.

lightning and it was all caught on video. a man recorded it on his phone tuesday. he actually didn't realize lightning struck a nearby jet until he checked the video later on. a commercial airliners door landed in north carolina before the rest of the plane did. the door from the us airways dallas flight fell onto a golf course. kris van cleave has the picture. >> reporter: the panel door fell off. it landed on the seventh green of a golf course. the airline said the door is about 15 x 16 inches and weighs a few pounds. it came off a plane leak this one carrying 156 passengers. it konks a hydraulic air yachl it says it would not cause a flight safety issue but it comes as the ntsb is launching an investigation in a close call of
