[ bleep ] happens. you know of all people that [ bleep ] happens here, you know? >> i agree. >> it doesn't take long for the board to render a decision. >> sanctions that are going to be imposed for this case are ten days punitive segregation. >> ten days. >> a little generous. >> ten days. it took me longer than that for the paperwork. >> he's ad segged. any more, it's not going to really help. >> he, like other long-term ad seg inmates, will eventually be transferred to one of the state's most highly restrictive prisons where all the inmates are locked down 23 hours a day. it's just a matter of waiting for a cell to open up. grahf has four limon inmates ahead of him but not for long. >> we're going in to take four guys out ad seg.
7:46 pm
michael gill is one of them. we're taking him to sterling. >> how do you feel about your move today? >> pretty [ bleep ] off. >> why? >> because it's four hours away from my family. i got 61 days left. and they're moving me for no reason. >> he's a hot head and he gets upset real easy so you have to walk around him easily. >> my whole goal is just to go home and i was secure here. i know everyone here. i'm comfortable here. >> gill appeared to take the news well until his request for a shower seemed to hit a snag. >> were you afforded an opportunity to take a shower yesterday? >> no. >> why not? >> yesterday we don't get a shower. it's canteen. >> let me talk to the staff and i'll get back -- >> she said that they were going to be here any minute and it's been an hour. >> i'm going to go out and talk to them right now. give me the chance to fix this. all right? if you don't give me a chance to
7:47 pm
fix it and you go off, you lose, all right? >> have patience. >> have patience. have i done you wrong? then give me that respect. >> gill's patience didn't last long. >> i'm going to go on a bus and probably head-butt [ bleep ] because i don't get a shower. i'm going to start [ bleep ] -- haven't taken a shower in three days. >> you think lieutenant gillis is taking care -- >> what [ bleep ] kind of bull [ bleep ] is that? this is the kind of [ bleep ] games you play? i'm not going to get no [ bleep ] shower until at least tomorrow. [ bleep ] kind of bull [ bleep ] is that? >> though ad seg inmates are limited to three showers per week, the confusion over gill's allotment was soon cleared up. >> i got my shower in so i'm good. >> how is your head? >> my head is fine. >> really? >> yeah. how is your head? >> mine is fine but i didn't bash it against a window. >> well, you know, three days
7:48 pm
without a shower, you know, i can't do three days without a shower. it's bull [ bleep ] only thing i'm looking forward to is being in that van with the radio on so -- something i look forward to. how long of a drive is it? >> a couple hours. >> can i sit up front? i haven't listened to music -- that's all i care about. >> we'll play some. >> whoa, whoa. there's ice on the ground. i don't feel comfortable in the car. i'd like to say good-bye to limon. tell the place they can kiss my [ bleep ]. 60 days i'll never look back. >> gill leaves behind the one inmate who seemingly strives to annoy all he comes in contact with, timothy schreiber, who now lives in general population. >> what is your name? >> i'll put it in writing for you. >> state your name. >> state your name.
7:49 pm
>> you need to -- get your meal, get your meal and go back to your house. >> she's the housing sergeant. she won't tell me her name. what's your name? >> get your meal and go back to your house. >> he wants everything right now and he wants it on his time. i don't do anything an inmate tells me to do ever. >> i'll find out your name. >> i will write it down for you. >> i'll find out your name. >> even if i say it to you, you won't understand it. i have to write it down for you. >> you know what's coming, mother [ bleep ]. you know what's coming. >> they hate him. i mean, he has brought so much heat on to this pod and disrespect to them. he's called them inappropriate names, racial slurs, all this stuff and, you know, they're not going to put up with it. >> neither will the correctional staff. schreiber has been written up yet again. >> last night during count they caught him masturbating. >> he just chose to be masturbating during count. he knew the female officers were
7:50 pm
counting. >> as i was walking by for count, he had his hands down his pants making the masturbating motion. i asked him to stand for count. he kind of sat there, rolled his eyes for a second and slowly stood like he was annoyed. he just kind of looked at me and pressed his face up against the window and stood there for a few minutes. and i walked back down the tier and walked back by and he followed me. his eyes had followed me the entire time. >> it was not true. i was sitting on my bunk with my hands on my thighs looking at her like this because i wasn't going to stand up for count. i was going to deliberately not stand up for count. i wanted to get a write-up for disobeying a lawful order to help my cause of getting ad seg. in a way, it's cool that she falsely accused me of this because now they're putting me in seg. >> but schreiber's assumption that he will be immediately placed in ad seg is false. he must wait up to seven working days for a disciplinary hearing
7:51 pm
before a placement in ad seg is even considered. >> you're the enemy. >> prison policy is only put in inmates in ad seg before a hearing when they pose an immediate threat to themselves or others. >> i feel that i don't deserve this [ bleep ]. i'm mad about it and i'm mad about having to do the time the way they want me to do the time and i'm going to do everything in my power to bug these people to death, and that's a fact. >> coming up -- >> is this the twilight zone again? >> timothy schreiber's day of reckoning. >> i know you believe in your mind that you're getting out in august. that's probably not going to happen. it's hard to describe, because you have a numbness, but yet you have the pain like thousands of needles sticking in your foot. it was progressively getting worse, and at that point i knew i had to do something. once i started taking the lyrica the pain started subsiding. 7:53 pm
7:54 pm
7:55 pm
used racial slurs and made false accusations. he has verbally abused staff and masturbated in front of a female officer, all part of a campaign to be sent back to administrative segregation. but now schreiber has taken things to another level. officers have discovered a shank in his cell. we interviewed him the morning of his disciplinary hearing on the matter. he was still sleeping. >> i just found it. i didn't make it. i found it underneath the bed. i gave it to one of the guards. i don't know. it just turned up at the right time. i can't believe it but that's what happened. >> schreiber has opted to not defend himself at the hearing. >> it's too early for me. i don't -- i don't get up and do anything until like lunch and it's exactly what i want anyway. the hearing, you know? there's no point in me being there. >> so what's the answer? >> okay. would you read the notice for administrative segregation into the record?
7:56 pm
>> summary states schreiber has demonstrated a pattern of incorrigibility. he has been convicted of six violations and housed at nine different facilities in about a six-month period. >> how many occasions was there a homemade weapon? >> appears he had three different incidents. since he's been at this facility, he attempted to incite other offenders, made racial slurs, been disruptive, masturbated in front of female staff and made inappropriate sexual comments and had a homemade knife. >> it doesn't matter where he gets moved to. he's not going to change his behaviors. >> he said he wanted to be placed in ad seg. he is afraid to be in general population. >> the actions he takes because he wants to be administrative segregated. >> do you believe if we put him back into general population he will hurt another offender or staff member? >> yes, i do. >> do you believe in that? >> i do. >> based on the seriousness of him and his continuing disruptive behavior, this committee finds his conduct poses a serious threat to the security and staff of this
7:57 pm
facility. therefore, this committee is going to recommend ad seg placement. >> this is what i've been trying to do since september. and then i went to five different prisons and landed up here. finally they did the right thing here after it took me ten write-ups, you know. but they finally did the right thing. they got rid of -- probably one of the biggest management problems in their history, me. and so i got what i wanted. >> schreiber got exactly what he wanted for now. but what he doesn't realize is that very soon his actions might result in a consequence that he never anticipated. he has just been summoned to the associate warden's office. >> it's probably something i said because they probably heard me say something. they want to talk to me about it. it's all it is. probably i made a comment to one of the guards.
7:58 pm
it's probably what this is about. i hope that's all it's about. >> but in reality the matter is far more serious. schreiber's attempts to manipulate the prison might have come with profound repercussions. >> i know you believe in your mind that you're getting out in august. that's probably not going to happen. you're looking at a whole bunch of time. they're even talking about filing habitual on you, so you could be looking at the rest of your life in here. >> and you understand what that's based off, correct? it's based off of the shanks that were found in your possession. as i understand, you've been found with two previous to limon and then the shank that was found in your cell at limon correctional facility. >> i found them. i didn't make them. i found them. >> well, that will be handled in court. but i'm telling you, with the amount of time that you're looking at, quit antagonizing these inmates. because you're going to have to live with them -- maybe for the rest of your life.
7:59 pm
and what you're building now, you're going to pay for it down the road. >> oh, dude, i'll tell you right now, if i get criminal charges off of finding a bic razor in my cell, i'm not going to be doing that time. i'll tell you right now. i'm not going to be doing that time. >> well, i'm here to tell you you'll end up going back. >> i'm telling you right now i'm going to kill myself if i go and get criminal charges on that [ bleep ]. that's what i'm telling you right now in front of these cameras. i'm not doing any more time in prison off this [ bleep ]. period. so if i get criminal charges past august, i'm killing myself plain and simple.
8:00 pm
i'm a hustling fool. >> it's a world of hustlers. >> these sausages, man. they're so [ bleep ] good. >> where no object is too small to bargain over. >> you know the first thing he asked me? he goes, can i keep the fork? oh, he got me for a fork. >> it's an underground economy where some deals are signed in ink, and others are signed in blood.
