AIILSG Prof Dr Kanaskar Building Resilience of Vulnerable Populations
Prof. Dr. Mukesh Kanaskar works at All India Institute of Local Self-Government. His responsibility profile includes leading the initiatives with the under-privileged populations as Director, AIILSG’s International Center of EQUI-T, anchoring the policy facilitation and research initiatives as Distinguished Professor and Academic Head (Research, Publications and Documentation). He is also Project Leader for a global award winning innovation (Disaster Risk Reduction- People Centred, Sustainable and Innovative- Community Self-Assessment) which won a prestigious global award, ‘Risk Award 2015’ from among 145 entries from 62 countries. The award is joint initiative of ‘The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction’ (UNISDR), ‘Global Risk Forum’, Davos & ‘Munich Re Foundation’, Germany. Active as a development professional since 1993, he is passionate about building resilience of vulnerable populations, especially of children and women from them, against Climate Change and Environmental Damage. His humble contributions lead to building such resilience of about 0.3 million vulnerable populations over 357 locations.
