Presented at Globians Film Festival 2006 -- Globians film Festival 2006 was proud to present the new film by Dan Hubp: "Not This War" is the story of one woman's accelerating spiral in the face of events that challenge her every belief. In a society where the ideal of honor, duty and sacrifice stand without question, Dorothy's only hope for herself and her tow sons, lies in her willful conviction to take matters into her own hands. -- Please check out Dan Hubp's documentary "Me Jane" (USA 2000) also part of the Globians Film Festival collection at archive.org at

i START STUDING INDEPENDENT CINEMA TODAY...i thouht this was a good a place to start . Thank You. My first impression is that its theatre on my little notebook screen.. The decisions used in presenting the story, remind me of how in real life people repeat stories ... sometimes month after month, year after year...sometimes one hears the story so many times that one forgets that its what makes the story teller tick over, day after day..In a nutshell today id say its Compact creativity .

Collage and sandwich: documentary and drama
The blurr of once strict categories like "documentary" and "drama" becomes productive in this short when using Home Movies as a documentary source, sandwiching it to a written drama text played by intense acting and collaged to a fine audio track. The result is a superb cinematic experience even on a sad topic: The war and its price to pay.
