Sister Seba, a Catholic nun in Kerala, denied permission to appear
for the All India Pre Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) in
Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday as she was wearing a nuns' habit, and
headscarf and a cross around her neck. Sister Saiba requested to
grant a separate room where she can remove the veil and cross and
write the test, but the principal didn’t confer the permission.
Then she consulted with her superiors and decided to return without
taking the exam. The news comes a day after the Supreme Court refused
to allow AIPMT aspirants to wear a hijab, saying that “your faith
won’t disappear” if it is not worn on a particular day.
