a nice slice of history
Immensely grateful to the uploader (and the internet archive) for ensuring these early tv moments aren't completely lost to history.
I think the wish day segments are really sweet, someone mentioned that it seemed awkward so I wanted to point out that this girl (and the boy in another episode) both came from children's homes. Who knows what happened in their life to get them there. They may have been a little shy, or uncomfortable with being in the spotlight. Certainly receiving all the gifts would be overwhelming, but it's such a warm gesture that no doubt had positive impacts on the children receiving.

Civil rights in action
According to her Wikipedia profile, this show was taken off the air because southern stations refused to air it, because White refused to fire song and dance man Arthur Duncan (then just 21) for entertaining while being black.
Duncan later appeared in a long run on the Lawrence Welk show.

Delightful Betty White!
Although the uploader seems to think this show is very poor, I found it very pleasant light fun; quite touching at times. She has a great singing voice, too!
So compared to what passes for daytime programming and/or "variety" shows today, this is a breath of fresh air. I could watch a show like this every afternoon, and never get bored. The delightful Betty White always was and still is a national (and international) treasure!
Thanks to the uploader for sharing this gem.
