The Harbor is collaboration among many community partners, including elected officials, Clark County’s Department of Juvenile Justice Services, Family Court, the Clark County School District, local police departments and state agencies and nonprofit organizations. The goal of the program is to keep kids out of the juvenile justice system by connecting them with services they or their families need. The goal is to assess, connect and follow up at the front end before issues escalate. In some cases, parents may see issues going on with their kids that are red flags such as trouble at school or problems with drug or alcohol use. In other cases, kids may be acting out at home or in school or in the community because of issues going on in their families. The Harbor is located at 651 N. Pecos Road next to the Family Court Building at Pecos and Bonanza, Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday. (702) 455-6912, www.theharborlv.com.
