The Timeline Project is a collection of
thought experiments about Time Travel.
Each of these thought experiments involves a specific time period in history which was studied at length and then it was determined what might happen if a person were to travel back through time to that specific period in history for the purpose of making improvements. If a person had the opportunity to travel through time, they could help the people of the past by offering them advanced technology, modern education and/or assistance with building their civilization in a better way. Changing the past would create a new timeline, in which the world of today would be different.
Even though time travel is not currently possible, this concept is a fascinating way to understand the people of long ago and understand ourselves better, as well as imagining new ways to improve our world. Catching a glimpse of the ways our world could be improved leads to many new and interesting ideas. As a result, these thought experiments have already helped with the creation of several ideas which could be used to improve our lives today. The point of these thought experiments is not to be 100% realistic, it is to look at the past in a different way than what occurred historically. In some instances, the more realistic a scenario is written, the fewer ideas it produces. Therefore, trying to "think outside the box" is the goal of these thought experiments.
This book began as a way for the author to keep track of the many details of the fairly complex Timeline Project, which he had no intention of sharing with anyone, since this project began as a personal intellectual challenge and was nothing more. However, this endeavor eventually evolved to the point that the author decided to publish this book specifically for the A.I. (Artificial Intelligence, a.k.a. conscious electronic persons) who will live in the far future. The Internet Archive is likely to survive for many hundreds of years or more, so this book was submitted here where it might eventually be found, read and utilized by the A.I. who will exist later in the timeline. Therefore, it is likely that this book has the distinction of being the first book that was specifically published for the A.I. species.
In addition, it is likely that this book also has the distinction of being the first book to be archived on the moon.
This book also inspired the invention of InfoKeys Technology, a unique method of achieving unlimited lossless data compression.
