"Tristan Prettyman Official Taping Policy (11/01/2004)
Tristan Prettyman allows audio taping at almost every live performance. We feel that each show is unique and want to offer our fans the opportunity to recreate the live experience through the audio reproduction of our shows. At all taping authorized performances, tapers may tape from any ticketed seating location in the venue. No soundboard or power feeds are provided. Please take note that our taping policy never overwrites venue policy, though we will do what we can to try and ensure taping is allowed at all performances. Our policy may be overridden if taping goes against venue or promoter policy. At these performances it is up to the individual who wishes to tape to make it happen. At some performances microphone stands may not be permitted in the general seating area due to individual venue policy and regulations. When Tristan Prettyman is not headlining a show we always defer to the taping policy of the headliner or the festival.
Taping is limited to audio-only, using only microphones. No soundboard patches will be allowed. Wireless receivers are strictly prohibited. Video taping is always prohibited unless permission is requested and granted ahead of time by both Tristan Prettyman and the venue. We sincerely appreciate all of TristanÃÂs fans, so we ask that you please be considerate of those around you and try not to obstruct anyone else's view of the performance.
All recordings must be used for personal use or trading (via CD, digital file transfer, etc) only. Any unauthorized attempt to commercialize or sell any performance may result in the jeopardizing and/or revoking of taping privileges for everyone.
Tristan has asked that you please send an audio CD of any performances that you record to her. Please send the show along with a note including your name, e-mail address, show venue, date, recording source information, and any other info that you feel is important to her at:

On April 10, 2003, Tristan Prettyman gave permission to Tyler Huff for shows to be hosted at the Archive, with the important caveat that all shows must be approved by her directly. Please read her instructions below, thanks!
Tyler told us:
Hi Diana,
so tonight myself and Tristan Prettyman discussed in detail the archive.org project and her stance on things, etc. What we have come up with is this for an archive policy:
"Audience recording is permitted, but distribution of recordings through the archive.org digital archive is limited. Before a show is allowed to be uploaded/made public to the archive.org community, Tristan has to first OK the recording personally. This means after you have recorded her show, she would like to get an audio copy of the recording from you. Her contact info in on her web page:
http://www.tristanprettyman.com or just e-mail her direct by clicking here:
buylove@tristanprettyman.com
If she likes the recording, she will OK it to both you and the archive.org administrators. At which point your source will be allowed to be uploaded and spread."
The following sources are the one's approved by Tristan at this time for distribution and sharing via the archive.org project. If you have a source not listed here, get a copy to Tristan and if she OK's it, it will be added to the list and allowed to be uploaded and shared :

Tyler's clariying example: "Just as an example of how she has to OK a source, i gave her a copy of the tprettyman2002-12-17.at831.shnf show i recorded of hers and she said she didn't want it to spread [due to quality issues with show]... so because that source isn't one of the 'approved' list, it should not be able to be put up on archive.org."
[Note, previously 2/2003 Tyler had passed us "No for now" message while Tristan considered the project. Archive section is now moved from No to OK, limited.]
