>> one of the biggest concerns tonight? there is nowhere else for the new snow to go. >> this is not a good day to be on the road e.tonight how bad it will get and the school road crew might be without for this storm. >> hello. >> another massive snowstorm hitting maryland adding to the 2 feet already on the ground. >> vytas joining us now with everything you need to know about this latest winter blast. vytas. >> well, here we go again. round 3 of the season. now let me put this into perspective. we are talking about snow fall record. largest snow fall season now this is measured out at dwi. 1995-96 season for the entire season saw 62.5 inches of snow. we are currently still in the winter season for 2009 and 2010 and 60.4 inches not including the current storm on

the way. so we are going to blow that other season on out of the sky pretty much because we have another big blast coming in from the west. looking at the snow coming down pretty good on the eastern shore. a little bit of a mexico. we'll see that 10 to turn over the snow overnight as the temperatures fall. we have a very large system on off to the west and will tip to row take it around the secondary upper level low affecting folks as far north as chicago, medical walk, indian a, detroit delay there with airport snow coming down, cleveland and our neck of the woods upper -- next low moving in at this team just to the south. this one low that tracks up and the secondary low that is really going to be the backer as it strengthen and intense fees off the coast as it wraps in the moisture atlantic moisture. that's why we have winter storm warnings stretching from new york city down to philadelphia to dc, pittsburg back to indianapolis and detroit. this is a big, big storm that affects a lot of folks and drop heavy amounts of snow fall. now here locally we can is he all across the state.

block of terrace. this is what city crew concentrating on now. this car passing through. city crew concentrating on streets like this now. little neighborhood streets with snow packed with snow that have yet to see a plow. now again this street is pretty much passable because neighbors shovelled snow themselves. it allows the cars to pass through but still this is a very messy street. now mayor rawlings blake said today that they have identified at least 17 attack zones in the city. she says crews are focusing on secondary roads and neighbor streets but will shift the folk to us primary roads again once the storm begins. but again for now resources are shifted to the problem areas. e.we are doing everything we can to keep moving but we have to be reasonable in our expectations. this is not a shoveling event. this is a hauling event. we have to peck the snow up and move it. i'm greatful for our partner

throughout the city that have given us some locations to move the snow. >>reporter: we are back her live where you can see some of the cars moving. gingerly down the street. again some of the locations where the snow will go include the pemlico race track lot and school parking lots throughout the city and the mare says they even have epa approval to dump some of that snow in the harbor. leave now, keith fox 45 news at 5:30. bge bracing for new power outage in the latest storm. they announced today it restored electricity to most of the customers affected be the monday storm. more than 95,000 customers lost power. bge says the biggest challenge is getting the power turned back on and getting to the problem. >> sometimes we are there before the streets can plow and we have had to park at the side and actually have two man team walk in to actually try to find the case e-they warn you can stay away from any downed power lines and you

should call them at 877-77 8 2 2 2 2 to report any down lines you happen to see. call right away. maryland roads are coated with tons of salt and crew still fight the weekend storms. kearny parks live in elegant city where concern is growing over salt shortages. karen? >>reporter: well, jennifer as you can see here in elegant city this snow is relevant starting to come down. but this will create a bigger problem for the state. where to move mounds of snow like this and how to keep the streets clean. what is happening now is that after last weekend big snowstorm the state is running out of salt. the state started with 350,000 tons of salt and now workers have less than that to work with. officials say they have started pulling salt from years that don't really need it leak the eastern shore but that won't be enough to solve the problem. then shipments of salt are expected over the next two weeks and estate officials say it couldn't come

to know about the storm. whether you went to work by car, bus or taken chances are it was not a cake walk for you. melinda spent the damon toring transportation troubles around the city. live tonight in forth baltimore with the latest details on that. melinda? >>reporter: it was a treacherous commute unless of course you were snowed in and you just decided to stay home. it looks like tomorrow though things will only get worse. many drivers today got caught up in traffic jam because of snow blockage. for riders who rely on light rail train also serious 38 due to electrical problems. buses were also tied up and in some cases completely stuck near the intersection of green hill and fur each 2 buses stuck in the snow and ice. one of them has been there since monday afternoon and neighbors are getting frustrated. >> i think highly irresponsible to send out huge vehicle on one lane road with the ice with rear wheel

drive. >> neighbors spent all day digging out the buses themselves. now they really want mta to return with some equipment to remove the buses or else they fear they will just get snowed in even moreover night. live tonight in north baltimore, fox 45 news at 5:30. how are the roads looking tonight with all this snow? lauren has the traffic em report. lauren? >> thank you jeff. well this snow and ice that we are dealing with making the secondary roads extremely dangerous. we are also dealing with some trouble on the main lines. west side of the belt way is in bad shape as crew work to clean up all the snow. we look at only 10 miles per hour right now. as we take a live look at sex naive at liberty rolled you can see the second batch of snow is starting to lay along the roadway and heavy volume report along the inner loop lanes net. unfortunately that congestion will 10 as we make our way down to route 40 taking a live look here you will see it is really a mess along both the inner outer loop lanes and do watch out

>> seeing a mix and looks like that is changing over to snow as the temperatures fall. now we are going to see this wrapping in as we go through the overnight. first area of low pressure is what we are really concerned with as that continues to push into the region. closer look around baltimore you cap see snow fall coming down pretty good around baltimore, aberdeen, baltimore, aberdeen, belaire, wr and down towards the suburb of dc. so this is going to be the case that we have to deal with over the next several days here because we have to dig out. pretty bad situation. double low here. one out of the south bringing all the moisture and then the secondary upper level low wrap in behind that and intensify out over the del mar wrapping in all the moisture into the cold air. that's why we are under a winter storm warning

stretching from new york city all the way down across the east coast back over to the midwest. lots of delays and problems in the immediate area. eastern shore and winter storm warning in effect currently until about 7:00 p.m. tomorrow as we can see from 14 to 20 inches plus around the baltimore area looking at 16 to 24 north of us on the eastern shore and lower part of the state 7 to 14. we see snow tonight with temperatures down to 30. peck up overnight tonight and then through tomorrow morning get really windy tomorrow afternoon as well. details in the 7 day coming up.
