we take a live look outside. a beautiful morning along the schuylkill river. boathouse row. how long will the temperatures stick around? that's ahead. good morning, everyone. thank you so much for starting your saturday morning with us. i'm ted greenberg. it's 5:30 a.m. michelle grossman is here with the father's day forecast. looking good, michelle. >> yes. it's going to be warm tomorrow but a nice day. sunshine into the forecast today. also onñ sunday. so warm today, even warmer for your father's day. overall looking to be a really nice weekend. outdoors we're looking at mainly clear skies this morning. sun is up in a lot of spots. we're brighter in a lot of spots.

looking at mainly clear skies. cool start. temperatures in the 50s and 60s across the area. a live look in wilmington. this is north wildwood, looking at temperatures in the 50s. you may need a light jacket this morning. 60 in philadelphia. 53 in south jersey. 51 in the p.a. suburbs and 57 in delaware. zooming closer to the suburbs. temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. west bradford township, 58. we're looking at temperatures cool this morning. we'll rise very, very quickly, though, once the sun gets going. chadsford, 54. by this afternoon we will be into the mid to upper 80s in a lot of spots. new hope, 50. north wail, 49. new jersey, as we go throughout the afternoon we rise into the 70s by 10:00. by lunchtime, 81 degrees.

lots of sunshine. you need the sunglasses. 2:00. 83. we'll top out around 83. even warmer for your father's day and tracking some showers and storms in your ten-day. we'll look at that coming up. >> michelle, thank you. new from overnight philadelphia police are investigating two attempted robberies and a shooting in center city. the first happened at juniper and locust streets around 3:00 a.m. police say the victim was approached by two men demanding money. he ran away but the suspect followed and again tried to rob him. they shot the victim in the leg. we are told he is okay. then the suspects tried to rob another person at 15th and spruce. that person struggled with the suspects and another shot was fired, but no one was hit. so far no arrests. this morning a bucks county man is behind bars after authorities found 12 children in his home. he now faces sexual assault charges. nbc10's monique braxton is live in feasterville outside that man's home.

monique, what are you learning this morning? >> reporter: it appears to have all started to save the family's farm in lancaster county. money seems to be at the root of it. according to investigators. we arrived here about 5:00 this morning, and this is what we found. you can see that police remain on the scene. lower southampton police. you can also see that the home, the driveway, blocked off by crime tape. now, this is the scene as details of the alleged crime came to light yesterday. the girls found inside range in age from six months to 18 years old. according to the affidavit, 51-year-old lee kaplan admitted to sexually assaulting the eldest girl. she had two children resulting from those alleged attacks. police also arrested a couple from lancaster county and charged them with giving their teenaged daughter to kaplan in exchange for his help with their money problems.

now, those parents claim the other children in kaplan's house in his possession were also their children. this investigation began when a neighbor of kaplan's on old street road called child protective services. >> i knew something wasn't right. so i just -- go with your gut. i tell my son that all the time. you go with your gut. if it doesn't feel right, it's not. it's never the wrong time to do what's right. >> reporter: over the years neighbors say they only saw a handful of children outside of the house. they also say the girls seem nervous and were not allowed to talk to anyone. and back out here live, you see that the trees, the weeds, the flowers on thern]u hill here, overgrown. in the next half hour we're working to tell you what is next for all of the adults involved, as well as how many

jurisdictions seem to be investigating this alleged crime. live now in feasterville, monique braxton, nbc10 news. >> thank you. if you have the nbc10 app you heard about this story first. keep following the latest developments on the story the second we get them, just by tapping the app. philadelphia housing authority police officers will soon be using body cameras when they hit the streets. all 78 officers will be outfitted with the cameras starting tuesday. the equipment gives officers the ability to record, store and manage video of their encounters with the public. the pha is the latest in a growing list of local departments using the technology. septa police began using the cameras earlier this year. philadelphia police, chester police, and delaware state police all have pilot programs in place plus several communities in south jersey are using the technology. philadelphia police joined forces with the xhuvecommunity serve in germantown. they joined about a dozen community members for a prayer

walk last night. the group walked along germantown avenue, calling for an end to violence in the city. ♪ a south jersey church has its first black female priest. lorraine harris was ordained last night in camden. harris was born and raised in the city. from our jersey shore bureau, the new owner of atlantic city's former rebel casino says he will not reopen the business because he get a casino license. he told the "associated press" he shouldn't have to go through the long process of getting a license because he will simply act as a landlord and an outside company would run the casino. he says he plans to appeal the matter. a controversial beach music festival in cape may county can go forward as planned. the state superior court judge

ruled wildwood can host beach glow despite objections. the morey organization filed lawsuits to try to block the two-day electronic dance music festival pointing to problems at the concert two years ago including vulgar language and bad public behavior. the organizers say the event helps to raise money to bring school music programs to underserved students. it's a novel plan to overhaul new york's penn station and could give a thrill to commuters and generate cash to boot. we'll explain. plus, preparing to crown a new miss new jersey months after the loss of a former winner. we will show you how this year's pageant is paying tribute to cara mccolom.

stone state boy choir celebrates its 15th anniversary. current members will be joined by alumni for a gala concert in verizon hall at the kimmel center tonight. among those who will perform, bobby hill, the boy who sang for pope francis during his visit to philadelphia last september. festival will celebrate life by the sea in north wildwood. the lighthouse maritime festival begins at 10:00 a.m. there will be boats, pirates, live music and an arts and crafts show. the festival continues tomorrow. the phils hit another sour note on the field. they set a new club record for frustration as the ball continued to soar out of citizens bank park. look at that home run derby, next in sports. the decision to ride on and save money. he decided to save money by switching

building this amusement ride called halo on top of the station. the team would pay for the renovations by charging $35 a ticket. this is just one of the ideas that were submitted after governor andrew cuomo called for proposals to renovate the rail hub. all the proposals are now under review. announced yesterday that 100 local kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities will volunteer at the dnc part of a youth leadership initiative aimed at highlighting the disabled community. the wells fargo center in south philadelphia. the volunteers will work as hotel and hospitality greeters and also provide event support and transportation. today is june-teenth. a celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the u.s. it will be held at 8:30 this morning at washington square in

philadelphia. music legend kenny gamble and the philadelphia community of leaders will host a parade and festival. the parade includes bands, drummers, floats and dancers representing african cultures. mayor jim kenney will put a wreath at the landmark president's house at fifth and market at noon and the parade ends at the african-american museum with special exhibits and entertainment. women across the garden state are in ocean city vying for the title of miss jersey 2016. the winner will be crowned tonight. but hearts are heavy at this year's pageant following the february death of former miss new jersey, cara mccollum. she was also the girlfriend of nbc10's keith jones. this morning a look at how the competition is making sure cara's legacy will live on. ♪ >> just normal. >> reporter: behind the waves and the smiles at this year's miss new jersey pageant, there is a painful void.

>> it still doesn't feel real. >> reporter: cara mccollum would have been on stage with them, rehearsing for the show. it comes just four months after mccollum, miss new jersey, 2013, died following a car accident. >> she is truly still in this. all week we've been trying to figure out how to do this without cara. it's been hard. >> reporter: after two nights of preliminary competition in ocean city, miss new jersey 2015 will hand over the crown during this evening's bittersweet finale. >> cara would want us to be happy. she was the happiest, funniest person that i had ever met. >> reporter: the 24-year-old princeton grad was a news anchor in millville and beloved girlfriend of steppe keith jones. she'll be remembered when the first cara mccollum memorial scholarship is awarded at this weekend's crowning. >> her legacy lives on through

happening today, atlantic city wants you to bring your appetite to the jersey shore this weekend. the inaugural food truck festival and competition starts at noon today in brighten park and ends tomorrow afternoon. visitors can sample dishes from american comfort food to seafood and, yes, desserts and cast their vote for their favorite food truck. this is the final weekend for one of wilmington's most popular events, the annual st. anthony of padua italian festival. the theme this year is the italian renaissance. there will be foods, rides,
