there. we do have lane restrictions, moving away from the schuylkill expressway. also watching an accident, this one is out in horsham, on horsham road. >> now, to a developing story, protesters were out all night, upset about the election. this bon fire was set in the middle of a street in oakland. a large crowd temporarily blocked travel along a california freeway. take a look showing similar protests all across the country. large crowds marched in new york, washington, d.c., chicago and at least nine other places. protesters also took to the streets in philadelphia and will do it again tonight. nbc10's matt delucia has more on that. >> reporter: vai and tracy, there were several protests here, we heard a lot of

anti-trump chants. this is what we saw while the demonstrations were going on last evening. the one here at center city moved on foots with a march up north broad street up to the campus. everything hundred people involved in that march. there was another demonstration on penn's campus. philadelphia police telling us there were about 500 peaceful protesters there. no arrests, no incidents, according to police. and over at a church at rittenhouse square, not far from where we are, there was a prayer service focused on unity after a divisive election. >> we prayed for one another, we prayed for philadelphians, we prayed for president-elect trump. >> i'm concerned about physical violence. >> reporter: again, philadelphia police tell us there were no violent incidents, no arrests there. while we did see some support for democrat hillary clinton,

some of the folks they're talking about were saying even she is not the answer they were looking for. there are more rallies planned like the ones we saw last night. those are planned for the next couple of days. matt delucia, "nbc10 news." meanwhile, president-elect donald trump will have a busy day in washington. at 11:00 this morning, mr. trump will be meeting with president obama in the oval office. and an hour and a half later, he's meeting with house speaker paul ryan. this is the first step in the office for president trump. president obama called mr. trump yesterday. after winning the election, mr. trump pledged to binds the country's wounds of division. he said he wants the government to serve all americans. >> every single american will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential. the forgotten men and women of

secretary of state. and rnc chair reince priebus for chief of staff. at the head of the team is new jersey governor chris christie. this probably means an early exit from the governor's office for chris christie. yesterday, he was asked if he would confirm or deny working in washington. christie avoided the question. >> listen, there are dozens and dozens of names in play, brian, and those decisions will be made by the president-elect and the vice president-elect. we'll have a large transition meeting today. >> and on the "today" show after "nbc 10 news today," governor christie will be live in the studio to talk with matt and savannah. the breaking news we're following just outside of pittsburgh, two police officers have been shot in a small town of canonsburg.

we're working to learn the conditions the officers. s.w.a.t. team is on scene. we don't know if any arrests were made. funeral services are happening for harold hairsten, we learned his death last week. he retired in 2004, family, friends are gathering for a funeral. new covenant church in germantown. three buildings built along philadelphia's jewelers row. neighbors have been stopping to fight the project and preserve the properties. last month, the commit gave approval for the properties to get historic designation. today, the commission will vote. 58 men and women are joining

the police force in camden county. after the ceremony, no down time for the officers. they're heading right out into camden city neighborhoods to get work. the atlantic city police officer shot in the head is out of rehab and back home this morning. take a look at these pictures of officer josh videlle leaving the hospital. dozens greeted him as he came out eventually walking without his wheelchair. and this is video of the officer leaving the hospital to go to rehab only seven weeks r ago. he was shot in the head and responded to a rally on september 3rd. two men are charged with attempted murder in that shooting. well, just call it healthy eating 101. >> ahead, see how one school in haverford is taking school lunches to the next level. this is one we want to you weigh

speeds still up in the 60s. more updates when i come back in the next ten minutes. >> announcer: now your nbc10 "first alert" weather. 20 minutes before 5:00. the temperatures have been cooling down as the clouds move out. calm right now in philadelphia. and 43 degrees. the sun is going to be up at 8:00. the temperatures will be just a little bit lower at that time. as the clouds move out the temperatures will be falling over the next few hours. but then they turn around pretty quickly. a nice warmup into the low 50s at lunchtime. and middle 50s at 2:00. but we could see the temperatures peak between 2:00 and 4:00, near 60 degrees. suburbs, plenty of sunshine, too. 41 degrees right now. we'll be in the 40s for most of the morning and then in the 50s for the afternoon. lehigh valley, the rain is done. the clouds have completely moved out. a nice northerly wind at 12 miles an hour. that's bringing the temperatures down for now. 42 for now, 30s by 8:00.

trump's victory almost ensures a more conservative nominee. president obama's affordable care act brought changes to the country's health system. the republicans were against it. president-elect trump has vowed to repeal or replace it. we've heard a lot about pr president-elect trump's plans to build a wall along the border. during his chain, president-elect trump proposed banning muslims from coming into the country as a way to keep out terrorists. nbc news reports this is too popular and congressional republicans have not endorsed the idea. and finally, president-elect trump has vowed to dismantle the iran nuclear deal that the obama administration brokered in 2014. the deal imposes limits on the nuclear program in change do for lifting international sanctions. a muslim american gold star father who entered the

today, but low systems lining up for what will be dry right through the weekend. but the weekend, we'll see the temperatures come down in a hurry on saturday. instead of being near 60 like today. look at the 40s and 50s for high temperatures. 46 degrees the high temperature in the lehigh valley. and very low 50s for philadelphia, new jersey at the shore and delaware. warmer on sunday. both mornings will be cold. a nice warmup with plenty of sunshine. mild weather will continue next wreak. there's your cooldown, morning temperatures in the 30s saturday morning again sunday morning. big rebound sunday afternoon. 61 degrees. and a chance of showers stays out of the 60 for monday and tuesday. but late tuesday, clouds will be building so we could see some showers move in late tuesday into wednesday. we'll be watching that and expect to see changes there. then 60s to follow with another round of showers next saturday. >> thank you, bill.
