we have team coverage coming up as people hit the roads and rails and skies and let's beginning with our first alert traffic reporter and a look at the current travel conditions. a look at how is looks. >> very light this morning, typical morning construction. the vine street camera right around broad street. you see cars veering off towards exit for broad street and doing pretty good and fairly light and over in deptford, new jersey, right on route 41. very light traffic once again. i would recommend that car heater. it's very cold out there, folks. let's take a look at the rest of the new jersey major. shall we. i-295 and the new jersey turnpike. 42 freeway and all in the clear at this time of morning. when i come back in the next several minutes a look at 95 and we'll see how that morning travel will continue. vai, back for you. >> whether you're flying out of town or welcoming friends to your home philadelphia international airport will be packed today. >> 77,000 travelers pass through

the airport today. nbc 10's matt delucia joins us live. how are conditions right now in. >> traci and vai, one of the busiest travel days of the year and some of the folks are coming to the airport this morning trying to get out for their holiday destinations. right here you're looking at terminal "e," the ticket counters slightly busy. we saw a rush earlier and if we take a look upwards, you can see it there by the security checkpoints. those lines have already been forming and getting longer as we speak so it is getting a little bit busy here as the day goes on. we did ask philadelphia international how many people they are expecting this week. 610,000 travelers through next monday. today is actually the third busiest overall travel day. you just heard traci say about 77,000 people are expected to come through this airport today. this coming sunday will be the busiest day with everybody coming back home, but another live look here. the good news today, it's looking like decent weather. just heard bill say it's about

35 degrees here at the airport so all you really need is a jacket. fortunately no umbrellas and no airport delays as far as weather is concerned. at least not that we have seen. the only other issues we might be able to see today might be because of the crowds. again, getting through the security checkpoints. we'll be heading inside the airport in the next half hour and we'll be talking to the folks as we get ready to head out and enjoy the festivities that are to come this thanksgiving. live at philadelphia international, matt delucia. >> amtrak is adding train cars and extra service along the northeast corridor and beyond. >> they expect 750,000 rail travelers this week. pamela os borne is live at 30th street administration. good morning, pam. >> reporter: good morning. amtrak has employed or deployed rather every available coach in its fleet to accommodate all of those travelers. now if you're heading down to 30th street station this morning take a look good news is no lines. everything is morning pretty

thanksgiving? join the social media conversation and tell us about your holiday plans. our twitter address is right there on your screen. police in bucks county say a boxled pizza shop robbery was a real family affair and now a mother, son and his girlfriend are all facing charges. robin soto and chasidy ramos were taken into custody last night for their alleged roles in the crime. ramos is the girlfriend of one of the suspected robbers and soto is the mother of the two brothers accused of holding up the shop. both ramos and soto are facing robbery and conspiracy charges. they went before a charge last night in bensalem. soto's son justin rose was charged and remains in the hospital after being shot by a customer during the robbery. police say the two women cased the pofr yore's pizza and pasta shop in levittown last week before the robbery and then stood guard outside. they say soto's two sons pistol whipped a customer who then pulled out his own weapon and shot them. one son was killed. the customer had a license to

carry and is not facing charges. the two women are due in court next week. 4:35 right now. a shooting inside a north philadelphia motel lobby has neighbors speaking out about the violence. neighbors of the liberty motel in germantown avenue walked in on another crime scene on their block last night. a masked gunman shot two rounds through a pair of glass doors hitting one customer in the thigh. >> did not seem to close the place down. i don't know what it is, cannot seem to close it down >> you never know if you step out of house what you're going to walk into. >> police responded to more than 1,800 calls at this motel or within a block of it from 2004 to 2014 for various crimes involving drugs, prostitution, deadly overdoses and murder. neighbors say they won't stop until this motel is shut down. >> philadelphia traffic is always a challenge, but this next commuting story truly is one you have to see to believe so i know you're doing your

morning routine but come to the television and look at the screen. social media lit up yesterday afternoon when this bull got loose and ran through fish town. karen hart got cell phone video of the bull running down palmer street. the pull escaped from a truck making delivery to a slaughterhouse on west lehigh avenue. the bull was seen running on i-95. seeing the bull was an experience she won't soon forget. >> i didn't believe my eyes. i did not believe what i was seeing. hi my window up, but if i stuck my hand out, definitely i could have touched it. >> sky force 10 was overhead when police caught up with the bull and put it down. the bull belonged to a livestock company in lancaster, and its owner thanked the officers for getting the situation under control before anyone got hurt. if you live in pennsylvania and work in new jersey, you'll continue to pay taxes where you live, not where you work. the same applies to garden state residents who work in p.a. they will still pay taxes to

their home state. that's because new jersey governor chris christie has changed his mind and is allowing a tax agreement with pennsylvania to stay on the books. in september he threatened to pull out of the deal. well, this week marks a sad anniversary in south jersey. >> i really hope that this year brings closure for myself, my family and the community. >> this boy disappeared 25 years ago. ahead hear how his family hopes to bring new attention to the case. and also cheers to the fan. the phillies season is long over but major league baseball gave out a special honor to one fils fan. you might remember that. that was an excellent catch. >> 4:37 and a little bit of a breeze above the building level. at the surface the wind is much lighter, so we've got a colder start this morning. 35 in philadelphia. most of the neighborhoods this morning are below freezing. neighborhood forecast just ahead.

good morning, everyone. francisca rusci yeo. watching 95. our camera right around girard ave. so far we're doing pretty good on the rest of the majors, especially over new jersey where we're watching i-295 around route 130. this is west deptford, new jersey, and we're doing okay. very light traffic and also very chilly. the car heater is a great idea. now, let's take a look at 76. we're doing everything. everything in the green okay from the vine towards the blue route and going okay. eastbound, leave it 12 minutes and we're in the 60s and doing okay in the green and we're in the majors when i come back.

>> 20 minutes before 5:00, it is cold outside this morning. clear skies over philadelphia. just the first day and a few days that we're not starting without any clouds but that has resulted in some colder temperatures this morning. the numbers are falling right now. 32 degrees and west mt. arie just below freezing and even center city in the 30s, aren't ihouse, pens port, 30 degrees. look at wind. 3 miles per hour. finally has settled down and that's part ever why it's so cold this morning. still cold at 8:00, but temperatures will be climbing with bright sunshine. with less wind that will allow for a nice warmup during the day. into the upper 40s by 2:00 this afternoon. light northwesterly wind at just seven miles per hour. a break from the wind in the suburbs, so it's 32 degrees right now and 30s through the 10:00 hour and then 40s all

afternoon long with plenty of sunshine during the day today. there will be some clouds coming in to tonight, but during the day, sunshine will warm the lehigh valley from below freezing into the middle 30s by 10:00, so cold at 8:00, and by lunchtime 43 degrees and sunshine through the afternoon. 33 now in new jersey. 38 degrees at 10:00, and then that light northwesterly wind much lighter than yesterday even and far lighter than just a couple days ago. 46 degrees at 2:00 this afternoon. that lighter wind will allow the warmer temperatures this afternoon. we're going to get close to the 50-degree mark at the shore of the right now 28 degrees, but look at the fast warmup through the 30s, 40s and then near 50 degrees at 2:00 this afternoon. and delaware completely dry, completely clear. 29 right now once the sun is up just before 7:00 this morning the warming process starts. 46 degrees at lunchtime and 48 degrees at 2:00 this afternoon, so excellent getaway weather with no sign of any wet weather

over the family car. the argument escalated to a fight and police say when his son walked away young fired two shots. one went through his own shoe and the other hit his son in the back. >> there was a suggestion that there was a tussle over the weapon and the weapon discharged. based upon the scientific and physical evidence that was an impossibility. the son was shot in the back at the time. being shot in the back he lost his spleen as a result of that injury and part of his colon. >> young has been a philadelphia police officer since 1991. the police department suspended him for 30 days and plans to fire him. it's 4:46. there's a new effort to bring attention to one of south jersey's biggest cold cases. friday will mark 25 years since mark himebaugh disappeared. he was 11. a look at the mystery which is among the 1% of missing children cases where there are no clear

answers. his mother says she thinks of him every day. >> i just want -- i really hope that this year brings closure for myself, my family and the community. >> do you have any new leads? >> we don't have any leads at this time. >> very frustrating. i think 25 years is way too long for any family to have to deal with this. >> the community will come together for a vigil on friday afternoon at the camden county park where the child was last seen. >> 20,000 drunk driving convictions in new jersey are in jeopardy and a former state police officer is facing criminal charges. investigators say he falsified records while recalibrating blood-alcohol level testing machines which means the readings may have been inaccurate. over a seven-year period investigators say former trooper mark denis calibrated machines in five counties including ocean county. the attorney general's office says the state has identified more than 20,000 people who provided breath samples on instruments that he calibrated.

lawyers have filed a class action lawsuit and say they are getting lots of calls from clients who hope that a drunk driving conviction can be overturned. >> a lot of these people are desperate, especially if they are repeat offenders. we're talking about people that maybe lost their license for ten years. this gives them hope that there's a possibility of getting their license back. >> that attorney you just saw says getting accurate breathalyzer readings is especially important in new jersey where very slight differences in readings can mean much stiffer penalties. now let's get a look at state by state and county by county for a look at some. stories across the area. >> in delaware it's graduation in kent county for a new class of prison officers. the new staff members are already assigned to work in prisons throughout the state. now to delaware county. today college students will serve a thanksgiving northeast to families at the salvation army in chester. students at widener's university

center for hospitality management program have provided the meals for more than a decade and in montgomery county the glenside chapter of toys for tots hopes to drum up support. donations are down so far this year. the organization serves more than 50 communities in bucks county. the chapter today is opening its doors to show what it takes to get thousands of toys red for the holidays. 4:49 right now. northeast philadelphia community is scoring a touchdown this morning with a new scoreboard for the football field. the andy wallace foundation is donating the new board to the summerton youth organization. wallace grew up in the neighborhood and devoted his life to the summerton youth organization before dying in an accident in 1999. today the group is dedicate considering the need to him by naming it the andy wallace memorial field. also today, flyers alumni bob kelly and brad marsh will help the camden neighborhood center prepare for its thanksgiving day service. they will be joined by dozens of staffers in the flyers front office to repair and also cook

first alert traffic reporter starting on the schuylkill expressway. >> we're light right now but that's a different story in a couple more hours. schuylkill expressway at montgomery drive heading westbound and eastbound towards center city of philadelphia and the vine street expressway and doing pretty good on the rest of the majors. now we're looking at travel speeds for route 422. we're doing knock. you see eight minutes right here. this is typically the travel time for eastbound, but as we get closer towards the 6:00, 7:00 hour that will be changing and it will be escalating. now let's take a look at maple shade right now. route 73. doing okay, our camera right around route 38 heading towards route 90 towards the betsy ross bridge. we'll be fine there. when i come back a look at the vine street expressway and 95. traci? >> thank you, francisca. i'm looking over at the easton, p.a., looks like it's snow but it may be just the lighting. the way the light is hitting the

ground. >> no snow, bill. bill? >> you're just trying to cause trouble, vai. >> that's him. trouble-maker. >> trouble-maker. >> skies could not be clearer. where do you see snow in here? >> city lights. >> all that white here. >> no, no, maybe it's my hair that you're looking at. maybe that's it. clear skies. clear! no snow! cold, yes. cold enough for snow. you could have sawedna, that's okay. look at the temperature. 31 degrees in the lehigh valley and 30 in the suburbs and delaware 29 degrees and south jersey in millville has plummeted to 29 degrees. that's what light winds will do with clear skies. you'll get a huge variation in the temperature. millville 20 degrees and 25 in piles grove and mt. slaurl 32 and 31 in pemberton, so it's cold all around, but some areas are colder than others. princeton is 30 degrees right now. clear, there it is. radar and the satellite.

this would show clouds. in fact, if you look closely, you can see a few thin clouds off of long island. nowhere near us so we'll stay clear today of the brilliant sunshine during the day, and then, oh, man, look at that snow. that's going to miss us, but we could see some rain tomorrow during the day on thanksgiving. a chilly rain. that snow is not going to come anywhere near us. might see a few snow flakes in the pocono mountains with this system as it moves towards our area on thursday, and there's a chance we'll see some showers on friday, too. those are rain showers moving through indiana. a little bit of snow in northwestern ohio. that's not a dusting in our area here. this is noontime today. clear skies, 43 degrees in philadelphia. we'll warm into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees this afternoon, but look what happens this evening. the clouds are to the west that are producing the rain and snow far to the west and the clouds start moving in this evening and it stays dry this evening and stays dry overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.

>> three minutes before 5:00. in philadelphia, happening today, the philadelphia museum of art will begin its holiday season with a tree lighting. a live look at where it will happen. 509-foot tall tree will be lit tonight at 5:45. you can then pay what you wish to go into the museum until 8:45 tonight. well, if you visit the atlantic city aquarium you will see some amazing work done by a group of fifth graders. >> the kids design a new educational exhibit there called mysteries of the ocean. now the exhibit looks at different zones of the ocean. each zone focuses on a different animal. there's even an artificial reef and they attend the school in egg harbor township hand their
