right now on "nbc 10 news today," communities across pennsylvania are waking up to storm damage and flooding brought on by yesterday's severe weather. the storms ushered in the big chill we're feeling this morning. didn't we leave winter behind us? we'll tell you when the spring-like temperatures will return in the first alert forecast. president donald trump says he'll skip an annual tradition with the media. we'll have the response from the white house correspondents association. >> good morning. this is nbc 10 news today. i'm rosemary connors. meteorologist krystal klei is tracking the chilly conditions outside this morning.
krystal, we knew this was coming, but it really was a wake-up call. >> you walk out the door and feel that difference. the winds do not help. as a result we've got cold air, windy conditions, the two mixed together. we know how it goes. it feels colder than it is outside. here are your feels-like conditions, 12 degrees in mt. pocono, 24 for pottstown. 23 in lancaster. philadelphia feeling like 32 degrees right now. upper 20s for atlantic city and millville. it feels like we're in the end of february instead of april and may as the lay few days have felt. the wind gusts have dropped a bit. we have guests for coatesville, wilmington and wildwood. we had gusts that has dipped. any wind is enough wind to factor in that windchill or what it feels like to our skin. a look at radar and satellite,
better than yesterday evening. we've got just clouds out there and clearing conditions farther south. you see a little snow trying to fall to the west not making it to our neck of the woods. today is going to be a mostly sunny day for us as we move along. dry conditions, but windy and we stay cool, typical for this time of year. 38 at 8:00 a.m., 41 by 11:00 a.m. winds up to 17 miles per hour. we'll take a closer look at what to expect in your after none and how much we warm up into the workweek. >> thanks, krystal. that same storm system that hit us caused flooding and damage in northeastern pennsylvania. this is video from lucerne county. in neighboring lackawanna county, stopped traffic. the flooding uprooted trees causing some to fall into homes and power lines. several poles came down causing power outages. firefighters say part of route 662 will be closed for two days because of the downed poles.
as you can see and hear, yesterday's storm brought hail to our area. storm force ten was brought into delaware county. an underground transformer fire closed a major road. you can see the smoke rising from this manhole on baltimore pike in springfield. peco crews arrived to put out the fire and make repairs. nearby homes and businesses did not lose power. baltimore pike reopened about 9:00 last night. new this morning, police are investigating a shooting at a south philadelphia nightclub that wounded one woman. the victim was hit in the shoulder and leg at club onyx early this morning. investigators say a male suspect ran from the scene. the victim is now recovering at jefferson hospital. tomorrow bill cosby and his lawyers will return to court in montgomery county. nbc 10's dana durante is live
outside the courthouse to tell >> reporter: you can see there's brought through the main courthouse doors. this is called a change of venue hearing, where defense attorneys are asking that the case be moved out of montgomery county and have a jury that is not from this area hear the case. we have video. you can see how bill cosby has walked into court in the past here. what his lawyers are asking is that when it comes to this 2004 assault charge that happened prosecutors san jose happened inside cosby's chill ten ham home. they say the jury pool has been unfairly tainted. they blame in part a campaign ad that was run by the current district attorney in his bid for
office. defense has filed motions saying that cosby has been deemed a sexual predator and has been unfairly maligned here in all of this and you can't get an impartial jury from this area. now, prosecutors have not said they would oppose an outside jury coming in to montgomery county. those arguments will happen here in a courtroom tomorrow morning. reporting live in norristown, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. democrats have a new national chairman. tom perez, president obama's former labor secretary. yesterday party officials chose him over minnesota congressman. he pledged the rebuild the democratic party at both the state and local levels. perez also vowed his party would wage an all-out battle to deny president trump a second term. yesterday president trump reacted to perez's victory tweeting congratulations to thomas perez.
i could not be happier for him or the republican party. perez responded with his own tweet. he said call me tom and don't get too happy. keith elslison and i will be yor worst nightmare. in another tweet president trump tweeted he will not attend the white house correspondents dinner. it's a dinner that involves a master of ceremonies roasting the president and the president responding with his own jokes. recently president trump declared the press, quote, the enemy of the american people. his press secretary on friday barred several media outlets from a news briefing. mr. trump will be the first president to skip the event in more than 30 years. last night the white house correspondents association responded saying it will still have the dinner in april without the president. later this morning on "meet the press," town hall politics with be a top issue. chuck todd will sit down with
arkansas schat tore tom cotton and new democratic national chairman tom perez this morning at 10:30 on nbc 10. back to the turning giroux -- >> the flyers fought hard but could not pull out a win over their cross-state rivals. they took on the pittsburgh penguins in front of more than 67,000 fans. in an outdoor game shown right here on nbc 10, the pens prevailed 4-2. plenty of flyers faithful among the sellout crowd in rival territory, dressed in orange and black and made the six-hour drive to steel city. they say they got a mixed reception from people in pittsburgh. >> there's been a couple of mishaps, there's just as many nice people as mean people. >> 80% of them are pretty nice. >> the other 20? >> the other 20 are not so nice. we asked nhl commissioner gary bet man about the next

welcome back. here is a look at radar and satellite. a wider view. the colt front yesterday afternoon and evening has moved off to the east. we have scattered snowshowers in western pennsylvania, none of it making it to us. just clouds for us and temperatures that are considerably colder with those winds that are coming in from the northwest.
gusts 25 to 35 miles per hour in the forecast for today. sustained winds around 15 to 20 miles per hour. so still breezy to windy conditions for our sunday which makes it feel colder than it actually is. here are your feels-like temperatures. 29 at 8:00 a.m., 34 at noon and only the upper 30s by this afternoon even though true temperatures in the mid 40s. in the lehigh valley, the mid 30s, about as high as we can get for the feels-like conditions, feeling like winter in winter time. delaware, 29, 35 by noon and close to 40 by 3:00 in the afternoon. for new jersey, almost the same for delaware. mostly sunny conditions. 36 the feels-like temperatures for the jersey shore. today, a cold spell, but not long lasting. we start to warm right back up into your workweek. we'll track out those temperatures and also talk about the next round of rain.
today students from the upper darby school district, they'll hold an art contest at beverly hills middle school, the theme, from many country, regions and places, we are one community. the school district is made up of students from 25 countries. we'll hear from community members rallying to restore artwork in center city.

after it was vandalized. it's lady liberty with the puerto rican flag draped over there. the mural has adorned that corner for 40 years. somebody defaced it earlier this month. >> this mural sits in the middle of what used to be the largest and oldest puerto rican community in the state of pennsylvania. that history cannot be erased. >> community members are now asking the developer who owns the building to restore the mural. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> expected to have a day of change. we started with temperatures that made it to the 70s again. en the cold front passes. the thunderstorms move through and the cold air has now settled. take a look at your temperatures this morning in our philadelphia neighborhoods. we're at 38 degrees in society hill, center city at 39. west mt. airy, 39 for the
airport. parkwood at 36 degrees. big difference from what we saw yesterday morning when some of us were already in the 60s around the area. delaware same deal. much cooler than yesterday. 37 for harmon any hills. reedy point at 37. middletown checking in at 38 degrees currently. we drop further south, about the same. allendale at 37, greenwood at 39, lewis beach at 38 degrees. long neck 39 and 40 right up against those beach spots like rehoboth beach and dewey beach. temperatures won't climb a ton today. some spots in delaware upper 40s. that's about it. radar and satellite shows us we do have some clouds in place, not quite as much if you drop farther to the south. what will happen is they'll thin a bit through the morning hours. we're left with a mostly sunny forecast with some clouds lingering into the afternoon. it would be a nice day if it
wasn't for the fact that compared to the 60s and 70s we've been seeing, this is going to field cold. today is a layer-up kind of day, a typical february day. mid to upper 40s are average for this time of year. 46 in center city, 45 for somerton. 45 across the board for the pa subu suburbs. lee lie valley, 40s for forecast high temperatures. in new jersey, tren done, voorhees 47. through the shore, 46 cape may and ocean city. rehoboth beach at 46 and wilmington 48 for the forecast high temperature today. wind gusts, we saw them stronger yesterday e specially the beak gusts that caused damage. as well into south jersey, because of the strong winds with the thunderstorms. now we're left with windy conditions behind the front. gusts around 35-mile-per-hour
gusts this morning. as the winds start to weaken into tonight, i would not be surprised by still breezy conditions even over the next couple days. temperatures do climb. 46 today, 58 on monday. tuesday and wednesday we start to bring back rain chances. some rain with a warmup which is an issue. by wednesday, some spots to the low 70s could see thunderstorms again. then we cool down. look at this, briefly in the morning, a chance of a rain-snow mix for your friday. a high of 43. this weekend more than a thousand people came together to raise money to support redding terminal market. last night's party for the market, it's one of the oldest markets in the country. in south jersey, hat den field got uncorked. last night wine lovers explored boutiques. retailers in the downtown area joined together for the wine tasting event.
