40 degrees as you head out in worcester. you can see patches of clouds working on through rotating around a storm system that's moving out. high pressure building in. so i think we're going to brighten our skies a little bit more today. some clouds around through lunchtime and then brightening up through the afternoon. temperatures come up to around 50 degrees by 9:00 a.m. we're in the 50s this afternoon. it's going to be an above average day temperaturewise. 58 degrees in boston. big changes ahead by the end o rain and even some snow around, ahead. >> a live look at route 1 southbound side heading to the bottom of the screen. no problems. some construction in the final stages on the pike eastbound. there's road work wrapping up on 93 north by route 124 and once

kendrick street. so far trains and buses starting on schedule. >> olessa, thank you. breaking overnight, caught on camera a commuter rail train smashes into a car. the impact just destroying that vehicle. this morning there are a lot of questions. >> and the eyeopener's antoinette antonio is at the scene in revere right now with what we know. >> a lot of questions indeed. the big question this morning is where are those two people. they took off. police are trying to find them. take a look at that surveillance video once again. you see all of this happening. the commuter rail train just smashing into into the car on the tracks near oak island road. before that, the driver had gone around the crossing gates and then you see those two people scrambling out of the car and taking off. here's a look at video of the aftermath. the car just in pieces. police bringing in k-9s to search for that driver and the passenger, but so far this

buses were brought in to bring them to their destination. so far, no word of any injury. the big mystery, where are those people that were in the car and why did they take off running? we'll keep you posted. live in revere, antoinette antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. >> antoinette, thank you. right now a new clue in the murder of a jogger in princeton. it has been more than months since vanessa marcotte's body was discovered. her killer is on the loose. investigators are looking for a dark-colored s.u.v. that was seen near the area where vanessa marcotte's body was discovered. police returned to the area of brooks station road, interviewing people who live there. witnesses say the s.u.v. was parked along the road at the same time the 27-year-old disappeared. marcotte, who lived in new york,

people in this community have been on edge. >> completely scary. i think that's the part of it that's unnerving. no one has an answer yet. i don't really feel like we've had much information on which to make -- >> investigators say they have received more than 1,000 tips. they are asking anyone who may have information to call 508-453-7589. that number on your screen. residents say detectives have done dna testing as part of the investigation. the attorney for the man accused of assaulting his girlfriend's 5-year-old son will be back in a courtroom today. they are asking for statements made by alberto sierra days before jeremiah oliver's body was discovered to be suppressed. those statements were made to a jailhouse informant. the boy's body was found off interstate 190 in sterling in 2013. no one has been charged in his

force and development plans to put out the latest unemployment numbers for october and they will have a revision for september. unemployment is at its lowest level in 15 years. the rate dropped to 3.6% in september, down from 3.9% in august. the merger in the world of fantasy sports. draftkings and its new york rival fan duel are joining forces. it is not clear where the new mp sports industry has faced legal and marketing costs after attorney general in several states questioned whether the fantasy game were games of chance or skill. twitter suspended accounts of the members of the alt-right. the social media site noted that its policy forbids threat, hate speech and harassment. the alt-right is a group that advocates white nationalism.

mangled mess near oak island road. we have video that shows the moment of impact. look at this surveillance video from the neighbor's house. you see the car drive on the tracks, around the crossing articles, then the train plows into the vehicle. two people scrambling away. it's unclear why they drove onto the tracks. the neighbor's surveillance camera capturing that whole thing. as for the people on board the train, they were taken on buss to their destination and no reports of any injuries. we are working to gather more this big mystery on who those two people are and why they ran from the scene. antoinette antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. >> antoinette, thank you. to the other big stories we're following on the eyeopener. >> erika has those overnight developments. >> three months after the murder of vanessa marcotte, investigators are now looking for a dark-colored s.u.v. spotted near the crime scene. marcotte was visiting family in princeton in august when she went for a jog and never returned. her body was found hours after

continue to search for the gunman who held up a newton gas station. you can see the man armed with a long gun at the gulf station in newton centre. the clerk was not hurt and back on the job last night. south carolina governor nikki haley is headed to trump tower today. there are reports she's being eyed for the position of secretary of state in the president-elect's administration. randy? >> right now boston police are searching for this man in connection with a stabbing in hyde park. police mother as well, inside their huntington home tuesday night. both women survived that. police say labathe broke windows and smashed the women's s.u.v. police in burlington are searching for a fourth suspect now accused of passing fake cash at two stores in the community. three of the suspects are behind bars and they will face a judge in hours. sky 5 over the shopping plaza

years in prison. the arson happened in march. the woman says she broke up with him and he began to stalk her before trying to burn down her house. he was found with an empty bag of cheetos and two lighters. >> parents in one boston neighborhood are angry over a decision to close a failing school. the school committee voted in favor of shutting down the elementary at the end of this school year. some parents are against the plan, saying improvements are being made. the school will be replaced with an early learning center and mof next year. >> first electric school bus will be showcased in concord. towns are planning to converse school bus fleets to more environmentally friendly options and to test out the benefits of electric bus following. governor baker's administration gave out four grants for the purchase of the buses. they will be in use in cambridge, acton-boxborough, amherst and concord. >> new developments in the

jersey. the "associated press" reports the train engineer may suffer from a previously undiagnosed case of sleep apnea. investigators are looking into that as a possible cause. engineer thomas gallagher was diagnosed with the condition after the september 29 wreck. one woman was killed when the train plowed into the station going twice the speed limit. >> a party turned murder scene in new york city. police say that a man was stabbed to death in this manhattan high rise this weekend. his body was fou jersey. investigators have been removing evidence from the fourth-floor apartment, including a blood-stained luggage rack. witnesses say a building resident was using the rack on monday to carry items to a car. a minnesota police officer is charged with second-degree manslaughter now. in the shooting death of philando castillo, his family says they are pleased with the
