this is daytona beach over by the coast, we are waking up in the 60' s. dave, what is the weather? dave: i really appreciate it. humidity levels on the high side. 71 is the way it is looking along the coastline. 63 in the melbourne area. watching showers pushing in from the west. you can see them falling apart. mainly a high cloud deck. once the sun gets up, i would expect mostly cloudy skies. enough energy as you look into the afternoon.

some of the rain could linger into the evening hours. some fog this morning. another warm afternoon in central florida. ted: construction on i-4 , a lane taken out both east and west bound. two left lanes taken out. 417 northbound around curry ford road, right lane taken out. crews are still on scene with that project. jason: it' s another day of big changes for drivers, as crews rebuild i-4. michelle: a popular ramp closed overnight, from orange avenue to the westbound lanes of the 408. the new ramp is about four blocks away at division avenue. alex villarreal is live this

building that interchange is going to be a major project. alex: it is massive. it also means huge changes for drivers like this one. this ramp closure behind us here , westbound 408, right beyond where we are near the and south lucerne. you' 408 west. the good news is, it is just four blocks west of the old ramp. there are signs you can follow. transportation officials moved to this ramp to give crews space to build a new ramp for the interchange. the new ramp is temporary. it will be around for the next three years. the next a major project will be down the road for the next

watch for those to begin this sunday with a test run from 12:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m.. project updates. we will be back to see how this is affecting traffic. michelle: happening today, a killed a father and son, is headed to traffic court. 75-year-old cynthia guthrie was not criminally charged after family' s car at the intersection of state roads 436 and 434 last october. jose vargas rosario and his one-year-old son brayden died in that crash. witnesses to the crash told wesh 2 news, they disagreed with the decision to only cite guthrie in the case, today, she' ll answer to that citation of careless driving. jason: we are following breaking news of south florida. an nfl player is in critical condition after a serious motorcycle accident. authorities say baltimore ravens cornerback tray walker was on a dirt bike when he collided with a ford escape just before 8:00 last night.

s why his high school and the city of minneola are collecting clothes and donations for housing. pictures and flowers now stand where the flames and smoke took trevor' s life. his family' s historic home caught fire wednesday. he was home alone and couldn' t get out. trevor went to lake minneola high school. friends told us off-camera he was good-hearted, quiet, but always kind. >> there' s nothing you can equate it to, it' s unfathomable to think of someone who was there five minutes ago is not w completely gone. jazmin: the fire is under investigation. the family has a place to stay for now but they' ll soon need a more permanent place. you can bring donations to minneola city hall today during normal business hours. and on saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00. the family' just go to wesh.com and search

contamination. governor snyder testified saying the epa ignored early information about the contaminated water, but the epa claimed synder and other state officials provided them with inaccurate information. michelle: the former ceo of harbor house in orlando is now taking the organization to court. carol wick was abruptly fired in february from the domestic abuse shelter. attorney mark nation says wick is suing for breach of contract and back wages which could total nearly $200,000. nation is representing wick at no cost. he says she did a lot for the community and feels like she is being bullied. world' s best golfers are back on the course for round two of the arnold palmer invitational. jason: jason day stole the show on day one, shooting six under par. tour, but he' s never won at bay hill. today is cut day, when the bottom half of the field will be eliminated, while the top half here' s the leader board headed into the 2nd round.

jason: thousands of drivers will notice another big change as part of the i-4 ultimate work. the westbound 408 entrance ramp from orange avenue closed overnight. the new temporary ramp is located about 4 blocks west at division avenue. the construction is expected to take 3 years. michelle: a deland man will learn his fate today after running over a horse and its rider. christopher todd got into an argument with four horseback riders in orange city back in february of 2015. he then drove into the group killing a horse and injuring a rider. todd faces up to 35 years in prison. jason: the second round of the arnold palmer invitational tees off in just hours. the annual pga tournament will get started at 7:35 this morning. you can watch third and fourth round action right here on wesh 2 this weekend. covering lake county this morning, a local hospital is without thousands of dollars in medication after they say it was possibly contaminated when a man

had been stored in. michelle: police say 53-year-old clyde brooks was brought to florida hospital waterman in tavares on wednesday. at one point he began to urinate on the walls and floor, some of it getting on the refrigerator. the pricy medicine inside had to be thrown out due to possible contamination. brooks is charged with criminal mischief. he is now out on bond. this weekend country music is setting up camp in osceola county, tens of thousands of fans will be in town for the three-day festival. brett connolly is here, brett this is the first time the event is being held in kissimmee. brett: they' re expecting huge crowds. the festival begins this afternoon. here' s a look at the headliners. some of the biggest names.

jason: this video is the talk of spring break. a firebreather caught on fire at a pep rally. michelle: several students captured the video on their cell phones. you can see the performer running for help. >> but then after i saw everyone running to him and everyone' s trying to put out the fire, taking off their jacket to like put it out. so then we realized the actual situation. so i tried to remain calm, and people are freaking out a couple people passed out, one girl went into a seizure. michelle: seven students were taken to the hospital and 12 more were treated at the school. the performer suffered serious s still no word on what exactly went wrong. this morning, both california police and osha are trying to figure out how a construction worker fell 53-stories to his death. the man was working on a high-rise in los angeles on thursday. it was only his second day on

here's a look through seminole county. no delays yet. >> this morning we're seeing the first time the change at one of orlando's busiest interchanges. >> as a morning commuter you know this area. the first step is rebuilding that interchange and it began overnight as crews shut down a ramp from orange avenue to the 408. let's get out live to alex. she's there this morning. this new ramp is a few blocks away from the old one. alex: it is not a huge change but it is going to surprise some drivers here this morning who might not have heard about the closure. if you take a look here, you can see dreaded road barrels up here behind me. that road closure sign up here and some detour signs as well. so that is going to help you this morning if you're coming out here. it's going to guide you to the new westbound 408

ramp on division avenue. that is just four blocks west of the old ramp here. transportation officials say that they moved the ramp to make room to build a new ramp for the future i-4 408 interchange. the new ramp is temporary but will be around for awhile, the next thee years. >> you're in the middle of downtown. you have tons of venues and buildings around. there's not much space to work. we're giving ourselves space to work. this is the first major thing that motorists are really seeing happen and there's much to come at this interchange. it is a very intricate, complex interchange. >> there are going to be a lot more changes that are going to happen here. this first one is right beyond the intersection of orange avenue and

riders. she suffered a broken collar bone. he faces up to 35 years in prison. his sentencing starts at 9 a.m. at a volusia county courthouse. jason: for the first time we're hearing the 911 calls made by the victims of a home invasion after men broke into an ocoee house earlier this week. >> they busted my teeth out and hit us all in the face with a gun. >> there's like six people. we came home from the club. as soon as we opened the door they ran up on us. they were already inside of the house. jason: police say the group kidnapped one of the people inside and when making their get-away caused a crash that hurt another driver. they kept going and eventually wrecked with a police officer's cruiser. guns and cash were stolen and the suspects fled. they're still on the run. michelle: two catholic leaders will be in court accused of ignoring a sex scandal.

arraigned today along with a third friar from minnesota. authorities say they knew about a scandal against a priest. he killed himself in 2013. >> investigators say a california student behind a campus stabbing spree was inspired by isis. the 18-year-old was shot and killed after stabbing four students at the university of california merced in november. the f.b.i. says he may have become self-radicalized drawing inspiration from isis propaganda. they also believe he was planning the attack at least one week in advance. jason: threatening new actions from north korea. u.s. officials confirm the regime fired a ballistic missile off its coast. the medium range missile landed in the sea. they say it was fired from a mobile launcher which u.s. intelligence said is very hard to detect.

up as we check your first alert weather in a few minutes here on sunrise. >> a car slammed through the front doors of a south florida pizzaria. surveillance video shows the s.u.v. turning into the parking lot of a downtown pizza place wednesday night. the driver keeps on going and crashes right through the restaurant. the car hit two people, a man and his fiancee who you saw in that video. they were rushed to the hospital but they are expected to be okay. officials say the driver just lost control. jason: the international space station is about to get a little more crowded. michelle: these are the three new crew members getting ready to head there tonight and that includes a nasa astronaut about to become america's most experienced space traveler. >> brett, he's going to beat the record that scott kelly just set. >> this is astronaut next williams. he's

on russia's soyuz rocket headed for the international space station. williams will be joined by two cosmonauts on the trip. the group tweeting out a photo last night. this is going to be williams' fourth mission into space. when he finishes his six months he's going to have a total of 534 career days in space beating scott kelly's current record of 520. the grandfather says he is prepared for the upcoming trip. >> i feel very prepared to go. i am very confident that my crew mates are prepared and ready to go, and we're looking forward to a great mission. >> the soyuz is expected to

as it hits the coastline it tends to fall apart. we have this opportunity for wet weather streaming in. there's heavier storms passing to the south of pensacola. actually passing to the south of panama city beach. those showers may impact our northern forecast during the afternoon hours much like what we saw yesterday, storms that moved across marion and flagler and volusia county. the same front that was down across i-10 yesterday is sort of wig geld its way across southern parts of georgia. that's one of the reasons why we're paring rain chances back. this area in green, north and west of i-4, perhaps a 30% to 40% chance of getting rain on the ground. south of i-4 closer to a 20% chance. everyone should be warm with temperatures in the mid 80's. first alert future cast has showers pushing across through midday and into the afternoon. better
