sara? >> sara: updated all morning long and new video from the mass pike of burned out tractor-trailer that was involved in fiery crash with another truck in charlestown. fox25 camera shot the video from below the pike as crews investigate the scene. we were unable to get to the crash because traffic backed up for miles because happened around 2:30 this morning. >> jas: following breaking news this morning following a flight out of logan. >> sara: two dozen people ended up in the hospital after severe turbulence heading to sacramento. aircraft had to make a landing in south dakota to get people help. fox25 jessica reyes live at logan this morning and the plane is about to finally make it to

11 in boston and held up several hours after the emergency landing in south dakota. now, it left boston around 5:00 last night and supposed to go directly to sacramento but once it hit to south dakota it was forced to make stop. people on board the plane they felt it drop suddenly and people through the cabin and checked out and all of them were released from the hospital like that, from on board the flight and neck brace. other passengers on twitter say first responders helped dozens of people off the flight and graceful for flight crews but the hospital staff who worked so quickly to take care of everyone. we have a photo from the hospital in south dakota and

on board the flight and checked out and she is going to be okay and see her, she is hugging one of the nurses at the hospital here. once again, we know the flight is just about to land in sacramento the next ten minutes and working right now to get in touch with some of the people on board hoping to hear from them later on this morning here on the fox25 morning news. we will continue to follow this and have another live report in just a little bit. for now live in logan, fox25 news. >> terrifying encounter for rockland home. this is 13-year-old -- 13-year-old boy was home by himself when he encountered a knife wielding burglar. brody davis said he caught a strange man trying to pick the lock to side door. >> i came out the front door to get my bike to go to my friend's house and i see this guy trying to open the door and he has a huge knife in his pocket. i just froze there. i thought i was going to die. i was very scared. >> take look at this sketch of man police are looking for this morning.

going to be very sweaty, very stifling later today. let's start with look at current drought conditions. this is new sense yesterday, folks. we have extreme drought for the first time since they started keeping records on this type of thing in 2000. in massachusetts we have not had an extreme drought on record. so it is incredibly dry. everybody knows we need the rain. everybody's lawn is crispy out there, things very, very dry and we do have rain coming in the gist of it what i want you to take away from the graphic is it could be honestly seven inches of rain between today, tomorrow and sunday. one to three inches i think is what i'm looking at in most towns and cities in the timeframe. 79 in boston, heat index up to 82? and on and off clouds will rule this morning and temps sliding up to 89 by 11:00 a.m. and highs in 90s and this

track them as they pop up and nashua and new hampshire, foxborough and 93? and highs should stilt reach mid to upper 80s, 88 in hull but 90s in brockton and bridgewater, mid-90s at that, so got chance for thunderstorms i was mentioning and all matters whether town sees it and with the storms looking at potential for downpours and also some damaging gusts. there's an elevated risk that they could turn strong to severe. i see the first of them popping up around 2:00 p.m. between two and five tracking from the north and west down toward boston. we got some storms overhead and after that they continue to track this evening into southeastern massachusetts. best bet for some storms in

>> jessica: last hour flight finally touched down there. 24 people tweeted at the hospital in south dakota, all of them treated and released and are back in california this morning. only made it just about halfway there when hit heavy turbulence and crew members were checked out and all of them are okay this morning, that there were injuries and really bumps and bruises. we do have some photos from the on board the flight. woman taken off the plane with ineck brace, other passengers first responders helped to get off the flight and extremely grateful for both the flight crews and hospital staff who work so quickly to take care of everyone. woman in green, she is one of

fox25 also learned that investigators interviewed employees yesterday from mountain barn restaurant, which does sit right next to a cell phone tower and the owner told fox25 they are fully cooperating with police. >> michael: if you noticed suspicious cuts or brues machine, encouraged to come forward to police. live in princeton, fox25 news. >> sara: officer who parked car in peabody lot in east boston this week noticed a problem when her steering wheel started to shake. when she looked at the car she saw two of her lug nuts were gone and one loosened. it is the third time the officer's car has been tampered with in the last month. mayor marty walsh says he is

and driving straight to the house where his wife and their eight-year-old daughter were staying. somewhere along the line police say he got a knife and louis accused of using that knife to attack the wife's landlord and elderly mother. investigators say lewis thought the life's landlord was encouraging her to end marriage. >> trying to pry man off during the stabbing and younger woman's condition was updated to stable late last night. >> sara: three-year-old boy fell from a rollercoaster. the boy was riding a wooden coaster called rollo coaster

it was halfway through when the ride fell. it does not have seat belts and riders must be at left 36 inches tall. riders under 48 inches need to be accompanied by adult. he was awake when he was flown to the hospital. park spokesperson says the rides are all inspected daily. the coaster is now closed while the state investigates the accident. >> sara: ferris wheel in tennessee and caused by mechanical failure. this morning all the girls remain hospitalized. the youngest with traumatic brain injury. on sunday the ten-year-old boy was killed at kansas water park. police say caleb schwab was decapitated. his funeral is scheduled for today. >> jason: more fallout from the westport animal abuse case. official continue to investigate what led up to the abuse. according to southcoast today
