today but show you when to plan around the 60s coming up. back to you guys. >> gene: we continue to follow the construction on mass pike as old toll booths have been coming down. >> sara: so far things are running pretty smoothly out there. we will check with michael henrich who's up in sky fox. michael, already seeing some progress on the construction work. >> michael: absolutely. we are seeing progress, and yet we are also seeing a change between yesterday and today. take a look at toll area right now. you see the new pavement in the middle of your screen? that is where the center tollbooth used to be. massdot just started the project on friday night and they were supposed to be removing last few weeks and they are already open and here is the change from yesterday. yesterday it felt like everybody stayed away from the pike and everything went really smoothly. now compared to what i was seeing on the ground yesterday

volume and when we were just flying in sky fox from the allston-brighton toll area to where we are here over weston and you're taking a look now at those eastbound lanes going back that way toward boston, we are seeing that slowdown that you might expect on the pike. it remains to be seen how much of a roll the tolls are actually playing with that the slowdown today verses a sheer volume of cars that seem to be returning to normal routine on t fingers crossed there were no major incidents on the roadways because that's with the toll situation over in allston-brighton and to get you a better feel how that is going. we will go back over the area for the next live report in a few minutes. for the greater traffic picture, let's once again send back into the studio. catherine parrotta has live drive time traffic. catherine, how is it looking overall. >> catherine: map slow, jammed up medford and somerville,

through quincy milton north and jammed up route 1 all the way from lynnfield to saugus and again as michael pointed out, slow in pockets on the pike and 128 not looking too too bad, slow in the usual spot. wanted to tell you about this, though. severe delays on red line because of disabled train, park street, learning this is because of a pit fire at pa, street station and looking to gather more information on that for you and build in extra time if you're a red line commuter and involves going through park street somehow. ov the map, route 3 southbound, multi-vehicle accident right there at route 4. look over here too, route 2 eastbound accident before 495 in littleton, not seeing severe delays in that one. look at live cameras, you're backed up on the leverett connector, pretty slow over the zakim too but volume pretty typical for this hour. here are drive times for you right now. route 1 as i was pointing out, 45 minute drive time, that's very unusual, only averaging 17 miles per hour.

commute. 128 from route 1 to the weston tolls just about 45 minutes there. sarah and gene, over to you. >> sara: last half hour a woman will be cited after a young trick-or-treater was hit by a car in lowell. >> gene: four-year-old recovering in boston hospital this morning. jessica reyes live in lowell and talking to police this morning and, jess, they say the driver left the scene of the crash last night. >> jessica: they do. out and talked to people on the street here, but right after that took off on her car from the scene. the area we know was filled with trick or treaters seven clack last night when that happened and four-year-old boy she hit, in boston recovering with pretty serious gash to his head, police say. we have video from the scene we want to show you. this happened on marshall avenue here in lowell last night. street was closed for several hours as police worked to reconstruct the accident

boy was out with his parents trick-or-treating when the woman driving the silver car hit him. two people that live on the street tell us briefly stopped but then did end up taking off. someone, however, did get the license plate number, and police stopped her a short time later. her car was towed and she was taken in for questioning. this neighbor whom we know was full of people at the time, and this is a very popular spot for trick or treaters and one woman we spoke to said her daughter's boyfriend was one of the people that >> bleeding it is in head and on the side. >> jessica: little boy was taken to hospital here in local and moved to tufts in boston. the cut on his head was serious but thankfully not life-threatening. thank again, we did learn in the last 30 seconds or so, the driver of the car that hit the little boy will be cited. still working to get some more information on that from police, including what the citation is

soon as we get the information. live in lowell, i'm jessica reyes, fox25 news. >> sara: we are down to 1 week before the election and hillary clinton's lead in the polls is slipping. fox25 daniel miller joins us with the race that continues to grow tighter, daniel. >> daniel: that's right, sarah. new numbers from new hampshire show hillary clinton's lead is shrinking. new wmu.r poll shows hillary clinton leading trump 45% to 43% and half of the poll was conducted to revelations of clinton's e-mail server found on former congressman anthony weiner's computer. meanwhile they have obtained tax documents from the 1990s. paper says, quote, legally dubious methods to avoid paying taxes on hundreds of millions of dollars in income. now, the methods were legal at the time but congress later banned them.

article. hillary clinton's campaign continued to escalate the efforts to discredit fbi effort james comey disclosure of revived e-mail investigation. the clinton campaign accused him of applying a double-standard for refusing to publicly discuss investigations of russian's meddling in the presidential election. now, comey has come under fire for revelation last week about the discovery of e-mails belonging to clinton on former congressman weiner's computer. told the crowd if the fbi wanted to look at the e-mails they will only find the same thing they found before. meanwhile nbc news reporting the fbi is conducting preliminary inquiry into donald trump former campaign manager foreign connections. paul manafort was reported to be a key player and multi-million dollar player and alleged ties

on life support. >> as soon as i got there i couldn't control how i felt. i couldn't explain -- i didn't noy why it was him. >> suspect led not guilty to assault and battery with dangerous weapon and it could be upgraded depending what police find on the investigation. >> sara: former house speaker sal dimasi hopes to convince a federal judge should be let out health. the 71-year-old is suffering from medical condition and battled cancer twice in prison. the herald reports he lost 45 pounds in the five years he has been behind bars and could soon end up on a feeding tube. dimasi serving eight-year sentence on corruption charges. >> gene: accident happened yesterday morning at corner of dartmouth and come avenue in the back bay.

witnesses told police the suv hit the fire engine. the truck then careened into eight parked cars and tree was ripped from the ground. >> i was absolutely horrified about the site of the truck that was on the sidewalk. car had been thrown up into the corn and her crushed. >> gene: amazingly no one was hit in the intersection and sidewalk when the crash happened. the driver of the suv and four firefighters were released from the hospital last night and recovering from minor injuries. so far no charges have filed. >> catherine: we track traffic and weather together every ten minutes. wanted to start off with breaking news here. live look from the photographer who's on his way to park street right now. reason for that is update if we can find the screen here. mbta red line we are experiencing some severe delays because of disabled train at park street and we have learned that's because of a pit fire. you saw the photographer headed over to the scene right now to get more information and live video for us.

around in new bedford on bikes. stephanie coueignoux live in new bedford and, stephanie, you spoke with the men who spotted the bikers right before the crash. >> stephanie: he told us it was very scary and sinking feeling before all of this began. he told us about this park, washington square park, this is where he saw a number of those riders and taking a look behind me. he said some of them were at the park and see one of the tracks from the dirt bike right here behind last night when about 30 to 40 bikers on atv's and dirt bikes stopped at this busy intersection at route 18 in elm street and according to southcoast today, bikers ran through red line and that's when police started following them. police eventually stopped the riders at flagship cinema on kings highway and that's when one of the riders, 24-year-old

trinidad over with his bike. before all of this unfolded again he saw the group of bikers riding down the street and he says that he felt like something was going to happen. >> stopped all traffic and they just proceeded. however, they felt like they were and rest of city didn't matter. >> police gonzalez, number of charge including assault and battery with dangerous weapon, all of them are expected to be in court today. as for sergeant trinidad he is still in the hospital when we last checked in serious condition thankfully with nonlife-threatening injuries and we will continue to check in with police as soon as we have updated for us. we will let you know. in new bedford, i'm stick, fox25 news.

medford, somerville, jammed up on quincy to milton and jammed up on the pike eastbound as you go through framingham and on route 1. wanted to draw your attention here, this is ray new accident, 128 southbound, right near exit 42 in wakefield, salem street exit. over here we told you about this is a severe delays on red line because of disabled train at park street and because of a pit fire. we told you about ten minutes ago we have a crew on way to gather video and information. of course, we will be getting that t north of the city on route 3, still multi-vehicle accident on route 3 southbound right near route 4 and this accident, this is 495 going south, multi-vehicle accident just before the lowell connector there. delays around those spots. route 1 lengthy and starting to stack up.

little bit of breeze and temperatures not doing much, back in the lower 40s, middle 40s here at 1:00 this afternoon. we had highs close to about 50?. that's not hot spot today. worcester tends to run cooler. i'm thinking warmest readings south eastern mass with 56 in carver, mattapoisett, bridgewater, over to foxborough. today in boston let's go with 52, ipswich 51, same in wo southern new hampshire and mid-50s over the cape and islands tomorrow. we are trading in 50s for the 60s. mid to upper 60s, in fact, but find that there are more clouds around. we have the warm front coming through and bringing in warmer and muggier area with front around trigger a few more clouds as we get into wednesday afternoon. thursday starts with just clouds but here comes the next batch of showers. it is timed out for thursday afternoon and evening. 7-day forecast for the weekend always in view.

sara: woman trapped in her overturned suv for nearly a week and okay. it was dangling off the cliff on san bernardino mountains saturday night. five days earlier she used on star feature using 911 and police had been searching for her ever since. >> 20 feet from the car and hair on neck started to stand up. barely left her head and all heard was oh. >> used pully system to stabilize the suv and pull the woman to safety and got pretty serious injuries and that will be okay. >> gene: personal trainer made headlines while having a full set of abs during pregnancy.

friend? >> michael: because on the ground yesterday and first big commute to today's commute. look now over the allston-brighton tolls and as you see these through the toll ways remaining tollbooth it is going pretty smooth 15 miles per hour speed speed limit and nobody going quite that slow and it is there and people are slowing down. the sheer volume of cars that we are seeing today verses yesterday means seeing a little more congestion and a little bit more of slowdown first big day to today. showed you over in the weston tolls area currently some of the pavement paving and construction work and demolition is a little bit ahead of schedule.

allston-brighton you can see things are operating right on time and as we showed you a moment ago those toll booths are up in the sidelines and cars still going through it. so again, everybody has kind of crossing fingers, people stayed away yesterday, more people back on the roads today but hasn't led to huge issue on the pike. overall it had morning commute and catherine parrotta with live drive time traffic to see how things are going with bigger picture. >> good news from the pike elsewhere on the map, especially 93, always a problem spot, but you're jammed up to about stein am all the way to somerville and jammed up on route 1 as well and on 128 jammed up there and woburn and burlington. new accident here on the map, 128 southbound, right near exit 42, salem street in wakefield. again, congested area to begin with. also a new accident. this is 93 southbound an accident right there at the zakim bridge.

stacked up behind the point and getting back to the red line and reading from the mbta on twitter responding to passengers saying trains are standing by in other locations until this is resolved. we learned this is a pit fire there, photo about five minutes ago of the situation at park street and so they are working to resolve that but again, severe delays on red line right now. taking look at route 1 in saugus. i told you the spot was very, and take you hour and ten minutes at this point on the expressway from the split to the pike looking at just about a half hour. gene and sara, back to you. >> sara: four-year-old boy hit

boy still in the hospitalit this morning. >> jessica: he is at tufts in boston and pretty bad gash and people here on marshall avenue here in lowell say it was a very scary situation right after he was hit and drivers stopped right after hitting him and took trick-or-treating. >> i opened the door and see a lot of people. >> woman lives on the street and boyfriend called 911. >> he had bleeding and then -- in the head on side. >> jessica: this part of lowell popular spot and hundreds of kids out here at the time. police tell us little boy was with his parents when that woman driving the silver car hit him. she stopped and then took off.

number and police stopped her a short time later. her car was towed and she was taken in for questioning. questioned for several hours and lowell police updated us and told us she has been cited for this but we are working this hour to learn more about the driver, including her name and when she might be in court. also working with police to get update on how the little boy is doing at the hospital this morning and as soon as we get that new information we will pass it right along to you here on the live in lowell, i'm jessica reyes, fox25 news. >> sara: dexter mitchell slammed into woman and young twin daughters in salem. police found ten-year-old girls lying about 25 feet apart with blood covered mother going back and forth between them. mitchell accused of leaving the scene after hitting the family and going back and admitting to

in court yesterday mitchell's lawyer says despite that admission his client was not driving out of control. >> no evidence from any of the witnesses operating anyway and driving. >> sara: mitchell's license is now suspended because he wouldn't do a test. >> gene: facing charges after unloaded gun ihi student was arrested yesterday morning at william monroe trotter school and boy will be disciplined through the school. bpd has charged child with unlawful possession of gun on school property. >> sara: leominster man in custody accused of raping a brockton high school student at the school through interpreter 44-year-old andy toe -- tow pled not guilty yesterday and accused of forcing himself on teenager last week.

>> gene: researchers found the focus of discrimination was actually based on customer's name. >> daniel: new economic research found racial criminal nation by uber drivers, study looked at 1500 rides at uber and competitor lyft in boston and in seattle to see whether customers with african-american sounding names experienced discrimination. the study looked at longer wait times for pickup and more rejection to cancellations of their request. it showed drivers in boston canceled pickups for rider with african-american name double the rate for other names and rides
