inside the mall last night. more than 1,000 people inside when the crowd got out of control and took police not only mace but police dogs as well to break everything up. crazy scene inside the cambridge side galleria. huge crowds shoving their way forward hoping to get look at rapper designer and celtics new draft pick jailen brown. they tried to calm the crowd. >> my shoes trampled over and i had to hold on to my little brother to make sure he was okay. >> state police responded in full force coming out with canine to control the mob inside. >> everyone ran out. >> flipped over, stuff like that. >> had to hide in h&m. >> assaulted with glass and brick and forced to break up the crowd. >> 10 feet away. it was crazy. >> then police had had enough.

11:00 a.m. hello 60?, mid-sixties will do this afternoon and then once we hit the evening we are going to be dropping back through the 50s, even upper 40s by 7:00 p.m. for anyone casting ballots late in the day. this afternoon high temperatures peaking in the lower 60s up and down the coastline, just upper 50s for the cape and islands and your mid-60s, hot spots include norwood, framingham and fitchburg this afternoon. should be up to about 62 in manchester, new hampshire. future cast today easy going, no be warm and sunny for the day tomorrow, clouds roll in even when you wake up tomorrow morning, a lot of clouds around, we could see a stray shower passing through here during the morning hours. best bet for morning commute rain though will be central and western mass and southern new hampshire for tomorrow showers peaking in and around the boston area, right around lunchtime, anywhere 10:00 a.m. to about 2:00 in the afternoon and after that we got showers focused here over southeastern massachusetts for that drive home from work tomorrow so obviously we got all day risk of rain.

>> gene: brockton police a violent robbery. this happened on old farm lane yesterday morning. the victim came home to find a stranger in his house. chris haskins tells fox25 the robber had a sledgehammer so grabbed an ax handle and chased after him. >> i got to crack him a couple times while swinging sledgehammer and end up on top of me and trying to bash my head with the sledgehammer. >> ended up with injuries t doctor. >> problems with a phone charger sent seven adults and one child at local school to the hospital. boston firefighters say a student at the manville school in mission hill brought it to school and started sparking. when someone put water on sparks it gave off vapor that made several people sick yesterday and no one was seriously hurt. fire crews cleared the school for classes to continue. >> sara: today lawyers for

closed, first time in more than 70 years both presidential candidates will be in new york city on election night. now, polls open here in new york about half hour ago, hillary clinton expected to cast her vote in chappaqua and donald trump will vote at 10:00. live this morning in new york city, chris flanagan, fox25 news. >> gene: one of the issues decided on and controversial ballot questions weighing catherine parrotta live at polling place in framingham and, catherine, things open there in 30 minutes ago. how busy has it been in the early going so far? >> it has been nonstop. sitting out in the parking lot ahead of the polls opening and people starting to arrive as early as 6:30 or so this morning. the line that you see here people are streaming in and also extends out into the hallway here at keith regional technical school in framingham and as we mentioned not just about the presidential candidate, it is

be interesting to see what voter turnout is like today. this is the first election for which massachusetts allowed early voting and ran from october 24th through november 4th and many communities saw great success. the state has 4.5 million registered voters and more than 1 million cast their ballots during the early voting period. still today expected to be a busy day at the polls in addition to the presidential race, voters will also weigh in on four binding ballot questions, two of them in particular have divided not one of the questions is question two. voters need to decide if they should allow 12 approvals for the charter schools and expanded enrollment in charter schools and enrollment can't exceed 1% of the statewide public school enrollment. governor charlie baker has been vocal in supporting the yes vote, even appearing in tv ads and charter schools give parents a choice and provide a pathway for students, trapped in a failing school. boston mayor marty walsh urging

charter school numbers too quickly and drain district budgets. the other question we heard a lot about is question four, deals with the legalization of marijuana. voters need to decide if the state should allow people over the age of 21 to possess, use and distribute limited amounts of marijuana. those activities will be dicriminallallized and regulate and tax marijuana accessories and products. this one governor baker urging northbound as gateway drug that would transf streets but supporters of question four say prohibiting marijuana use hasn't worked and makes sense to tax and regulate it. waiting to come into the hall in this room and which of the questions were most important for them and all question two about the charter schools and again that will be different for everybody and see there's quite a turnout despite the early voting and polling place as we

in framingham, catherine parrotta, fox25 news. >> sara: balance of power in u.s. senate is also at stake during today's vote during analyst and not being able to predict what is going to happen right now. daniel, fierce fight between the candidate. >> daniel: that's right. two women candidates, republican senator kelly ayotte and mage hassan and ayotte is one of 24 republican senators looking to hold on to her seat tonight. she is locked in a very balance of power and congress is on the line. matter of hours we will know who will take senate seat in new hampshire. senate seat one of about handful of seats up for grabs tonight. take look at this map. there are seven races that polls are showing could go either way. many of them are in swing states in nevada, indiana, wisconsin, missouri, north carolina,

right now. the democrats hold 46. meaning democrats have to flip four seats to gain control if hillary clinton wins if donald trump wins and too close to call and some polls showing incumbent kelly ayotte in the lead and mage hassan ahead and both made final pitches to voters monday and 19 events planned and before joining president obama at unh. while hassan has lined herself strongly with hillary clinton ayotte has done the opposite and says she will not vote for him. the party must have 51 seats and gop currently has 54. in event of tie the vice president has 50/50 deciding vote. we will have to see how that plays tonight as voters head to

joined this morning by matthew allen, in fear of question four and field director and outspoken opponents and appreciate you guys here this morning. people smoke pot, they will continue to smoke pot, this bill says let's legalize it, let's tax it. why not go other way states have gone and follow the lead where you can generate it as much as in the state of wain >> we know there's a lot of people who are open to legalization but this vote today not about the concept of legalization and specific 24 page ballot question and actually more about commercial situation than it is legalization. it is about creating a multiple billion dollar pot industry in massachusetts and unfortunately what we have seen in colorado and washington is that this industry is following the play book of big tobacco. they are selling and promoting highly potent pot edibles like

1980 and by now we know that the drug wars fail and continue to arrest people for low level marijuana crimes and these arrest unfortunately are racially bias, even though white people and black people use marijuana at the same rates, blacks are more than three times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana possession for personal use. >> colorado pointed out on website there haven't been any disparity and change in disparity in the racial -- in as far as racial make-up those being arrested. >> they have gone down >> racial disparity. >> that means less criminal records which means barriers to education, housing and employment. the difference here because we do have decriminalized marijuana for right now, people being arrested for higher amounts they don't and felony for people under 18 and disparity comes
