summer camp tragedy. there will be new safety procedures at a summer camp in boston after a young boy drowned. vicki, the mayor is making a appearance today, as well. >> victoria: he's going to meet with parents, and the councilors will also be told about these new procedures. they will hold off on having the kids come back here for just one more day. the city is calling this a terrible accident, saying what happened here at the curley center was a tragedy. the councilors described 7-year-old kyzr willis as a star of the summer drop-in program. he died last week, his body found in the water after councilors somehow lost sight of him in the afternoon. the city run summer drop-in program at ther in stopped for several day, but now the city is getting ready to reopen it with new procedures in place. the new rules include councilors taking a head count every hour. all kids going enter the ocean will wear life preservers. they are increasing staffing levels.

here's this wave of moisture we've been keeping an eye on. this is pushing off shore. as we head into the morning commute, the roads going to be a little bit slick, but as far as heavy rain, i don't think you'll see that. showers will be hit or miss in nature, and just the outer cape seeing some of that rain right now. so i want to take you through the time line. you can see hit or miss showers the name of the game throughout the day today. some of you see them, some of you don't. this trend will continue into tonight and even into tomorrow morning. wee clear out until we head into tomorrow afternoon and the high pressure starts to build in, and things start to look a little sunnier, a little warmer, too. so for today, isolated showers along the north shore, south shore for boston. more scattered in nature this morning. and then this afternoon out toward western mass and central mass. so that's what you can expect as far as rain for today. we do need any rain we can get, a severe drought still extends from central mass up the north shore and into southern new

so we certainly do need this rain. as far as rain totals that we'll get over the next day into the next 24 hours. i don't think they'll be too great. i think for the most part you'll see up to a half an inch if you're lucky. that's a wrap for july. as far as rainfall totals, july was officially the eighth driest on record. we did pick up an inch of rain. so that's over two and a half inches behind where we should be for this time of year. it will feel muggy throughout the day today. if i point time line, you won't see too much relief in the dew point department until wednesday when high pressure starts to build with us. and things start the feel more comfortable out there. winds are out of the east, out of the northeast around 15, 20mph. so it's not going to be too windy. mostly pleasant. temperatures in the low to mid-70s. watching those scattered showers. mostly cloudy. kind of a gloomy monday for you. for tonight, we'll watch for spotty showers and patchy fog to develop, as well. temperatures staying really on

manchester, new hampshire. the man hit an ambulance and then ran from the scene on sunday. investigators later tracked him down at his girlfriend's house. two e.m.t.s in the ambulance were treated for minor injuries. a man will be facing a jung today after police say he caused a deadly crash in bedford, new hampshire, while driving drunk. investigate, say a passenger was killed when a driver slammed his car into a utility pole and flipped the car on friday. a second passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the driver has been charged with negligent homicide. details now in the deadly hot air balloon crash that happened in texas. some of the victims are now being identified. alfred skip nichols was piloting that hot air balloon, which was carrying 15 other people before it caught on fire and then crashed over the weekend in texas. investigators confirming the balloon hit power lines at the time. and detectives have also identified two victims here. family friends say matt and sunday rowan were on board.

several high-profile bills before the end of the session. let's get the details now from 7's john cuoco. >> john: sarah, lawmakers passed a bill that publishes the state's first regulation for ride-sharing services like iewper and lift. the deal would require a two-tiered system of background checks for all drivers for the app-based ride services. one conducted by the company and another by the state. it would also impose a 20-cent fee per ride. the money would be split among tongues, citie of transportation and a fund designed to help cab and livery drivers. ride sharing companies would also be allowed to pick up passengers at the convention center and logan. drivers would need permits to pick up people at the airport. we do know the governor is planning to sign a bill that would require men and women to receive equal pay for equal work. massachusetts lawmakers unanimously approve the bill.
