breach affecting around 500 million user accounts. this summer yahoo! said it was investigating an incident in which hackers said to have infill rated. there were reports hackers were selling the information on-line. bank account information weren't stolen. the site says they've notified those who have been affect and they're recommending people who haven't changed their password since 2014 do so now. >> jadiann: a man died after being hit by an amtrak train in mansfield. crews have been on the scene all afternoon investigating what went wrong here. >> ryan: this is causing delays between providence and boston. jonathan hall is in mansfield. he joins us live on the phone with breaking details. >> reporter: sad scene here, mansfield commuter rail station remains closed at this hour. transit police say a northbound train struck and killed an unidentified guy who had jumped on the tracks in front of a speeding train

just about 12:30. trains are authorized to go 125 miles an hour but they were' crawling southbound when the track was reopened just after 3:00 pm. by the way the northbound track remains closed at this hour as investigators continue to work the scene. the state medical examiner has been here. we saw the vehicle leave with the body of the victim. we spoke to a young woman who was stuck in a southbound train as police investigated. the inconvenience bothered sadness of a life lost. northbound trains are not getting through from new york and providence. but police assure us the patriots train will be running down to foxboro tonight. they're going to get that northbound train on to the southbound side to get it up to boston. they'll be able to pick up fans and bring them down to the stadium. reporting live in mansfield, jonathan hall, 7 news. >> jadiann: we're also following breaking news out of charlotte, north carolina, where the governor

protests now continue. it's all in response to tuesday's officer involved shooting of a black man. the police chief saying the man was carrying a gun when he was shot and there is video of what happened. >> ryan: the attorney general speaking out about the investigation a short time ago. brandon gunnoe live with those breaking details. >> reporter: the charlotte police chief says he wants the investigation to be transparent. his department will release vido of the deadly shooting to the victim's family but not to the general public. the chief says the veo shows the deadly shooting of keith la month scott. it doesn't show scott pointing a gun at anyone. police say scott ignored the commands to drop his weapons. witnesses say he appeared to be unarmed. police station were not involved in that shooting. one protester, one protester shot another one. the windows of several businesses in charlotte were shattered. several others were looted.

governor to issue a state of emergency. this morning the national guard as you can see arrived to help the city's first responders. while u.s. attorney general loretta lynch called for the violent protests to stop. >> i know these are difficult times. and i know that the events of recent days are painfulfully unclear and they call out for answers. but i also know that the answer will not be found in the violence of recent days. let us all seek a peaceful way state governor said he hasn't changed his mind about a law he signed making it harolder for police shooting videos to be released. brandon gunnoe, 7 news. >> ryan: new details on the terror takedown in new york and new jersey. according to reports from the "wall street journal" the wife of the bombing suspect is back in the u.s. reports say rahami's wife gave a statement to officials. she travelled to pakistan in june and is not considered a

>> reporter: as the debate stage is being build clinton's campaign says she is working on preparations for the debate. hillary clinton's campaign says she views the debate monday as the most important day in the leaks so far. edward lawrence, nbc, washington. >> ryan: we're following more news today. a rhode island man accused of trying to plot against and help isis was back in court this afternoon. prosecutors say he and a blogger last year. byron barnett has more. >> reporter: now admitted terrorist nicklaus rav ins ky faces anywhere from 15-22 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court today. the 25-year-old from warwick, rhode island, is charged with plotting with two other men to support isis, behead americans and bring down the u.s. government. one of his alleged co-conspiraciors rahim, the

in june of 2015. now the alleged other co-conspiracior is awaiting trial. when the judge asked why he is pleading guilty he said in the interests of himself and of the american people i should pay for my crimes. now afterwards his attorney spoke to reporters calling him a vulnerable young man seduced by extremist ideology. in addition to jail time, he will be also be gti probation for life. his official sentencing will take place in march. byron barnett, 7 news. >> jadiann: a cohasset attorney called to court facing charges after a dead lir accident in brockton opinion the driver is charged with motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation after aedge willedly hitting and killing a 66-year-old man with her car back in june. police say she backed into him while he was walking on the sidewalk. police rushed to the victim

honoring heroes with the george hanna awards for bravery in the line of duty. >> policing the george l. hanna medal of honor. brady who is suspended, without jimmy garoppolo, with a significant shoulder injury so it's on to plan c. brissette who is ready to make his first career start on national television. mike reece reporting they don't plan to dress jimmy -- greater low. he could have served as backup if up to speed but it does not appear that he will even dress for the game. that job as a backup quarterback or emergency finance would fall on to edelman inside. while garoppolo waited three years, brissette is expected to make his nfl start three games into his rookie season. he looked poised in his nfl debut last sunday completing

and nighttime. not technically. it doesn't happen on the first day of fall because three things factor into that. the latitude determines when you have that equal balance of day and night which for boston is september 25th. also the sunrise and sunset if calculated based on when the top edge of the sun appears over the horizon then dips below so that will add a couple of minutes. the sun itself is bent. the bending of sunlight reflection will add a few so for us in the city again, that equalal balance of night and day is september 25th. but you get the point. here we are in fall. not feeling like it with the dew point 50s to around 60. i do think that humidity does creep up overnight tonight and through the day tomorrow. out ahead of a cold front. patriots game down at gillette warm companies with temperatures near 80. at kickoff mild, low 70s, when the game wraps up the numbers will be in the upper

everything together. witnesses describing perrifying homes that least one person dead, two people seriously injure and a driver who took off. >> as i came out the door it all opened up and the police started to arrive there. >> reporter: witnesses describing the scene overnight in lawrence at the north andover line. that is where police say the operator of a motorcycle struck a man and had woman crossing the street in the crosswalk. the motorcyclist ended up on the roader that is when police say he was run over by a car that kept going. >> you would aseem they knew they struck someone. we are not sure. unfortunately they didn't stop. >> reporter: the motorcyclist, a 64-year-old man from methuen was pronounced dead at the scene. other victims were rushed to the hospital. david ran out after the crash. >> it was very chaotic. that it was. thought about it all night. shocking.
