a couple days highs only in the upper 40s. we'll find it tuesday and wednesday. more on the seven-day forecast ahead. >> sarah: breaking news. five people killed in a wrong-way crash in middleboro. right now police are trying the piece together moments leading up to that accident. >> christa: let's get out live with the latest on the investigation this morning. john cuoco is there. john, tell us what you're seeing right now. >> john: christa, we just got some new information from state police. this is a multiple-fatality crash involving twos, people, all five people were killed. if you take a look behind me here. you can see there are still some crews on scene, a fire engine, some tow trucks. it appears they're cleaning up the road here. state police say one car was driving south in the northbound lane of 495. we're over here near exit 3. that single driver hit a car with four people inside. state police are still investigating. the northbound side of the highway here is still closed. but you can see in some of the video that we're showing you

drain during the sudden downpour. just before noon sunday, police found a body in the merrimack river matching jacob's description. >> my wife has been in tears all night. her mother's been crying all night just not knowing. >> victoria: jacob's uncle held out hope all weekend, even though early on police found jacob's belongings near the storm drain and saw him on surveillance video. >> the police watched footage of him on camera walking up this path bin disappeared. that was the last time he was seen on camera. he just dropped out of sight. >> victoria: police continue to investigate as friends and family continue to try to understand how something like this could happen. >> like it doesn't seem real to me that something like this could happen where i could be making jokes with him in second block and school and then a day later he turns up missing. >> victoria: and they are going to have grief councilors

with the faculty. investigators, meanwhile, continue to look into all of this, and they are still working to make a positive i.d. on the body that was pulled from the merrimack river on sunday. live this morning in nashua, victoria warren, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: vicki, thank you. it's 5:05. police are investigating after someone was sexually assaulted inside a dorm building at boston university. this allegedly happened early sunday morning. right now police say they don't have any >> sarah: police are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery in amesbury. investigators say this man robbed a citizens bank on main street sunday afternoon and took off with an unknown amount of cash. he's considered to be armed and dangerous. >> christa: the election now just 15 days away. early voting begins today right here in massachusetts. this is first time that early voting will be allowed in the bay state. so residents can vote now until

hampshire, jennifer eagan, 7news "today in new england." >> christa: right now four people are fighting for their lives as police continue investigating a deadly tour bus crash that happened in california. 13 people were killed when this bus slammed into the back of a truck sunday morning. police say the bus was going so fast that a huge piece of that truck ended up wedged inside. 33 other people were injured and the truck driver was treated for minor injuries, as well. we're following breaking news out of at least five people there are dead after a plane reportedly carrying officials from the european union's border agency crashed in malta. the plane went down shortly after take-off this morning. the wreckage is seen burning there in a field. officials say the flight was headed to libya. >> sarah: the patriots waking up winners this morning. >> and gronk into the end zone. new england touchdown. >> sarah: gronk putting on a show against his old team,

strong. the wind is out of the west-southwest here at about 10 to 12mph. 12mph in boston. tracking a couple showers. mabley down across buzzards bay and down into rhode island and eastern connecticut. a couple light showers close to the blackstone valley, southern worcester county on the rhode island border. you find some heavier showers into buzzards bay, across that dartmouth here. new bedford. that's heading in toward marion and eventually over toward minutes in falmouth. the intensity will pick up a little bit. this quick-hitting system. we're not dealing with a lot of rain. a few hours and some showers down through southern bristol, southern plymouth county and the cape and the islands morning. otherwise it's dry. mainly after 9:00. not much going on down there. returning partial sunshine. not a lot of run. one-tenth to one quarter of an inch down in these locations. one or two towns may pick up slightly over that, but boston, worcester, points north, don't expect much rain out there.

picture across the country. specific northwest very active, but it's very quiet into the midwest. this is the weather that's going to be working in here at least for a couple days. so i don't expect over the next several days to see a lot of rain, although there will be a couple more opportunities as we go through the week to pick up on some showers. next opportunity will be thursday afternoon, thursday night, thinking most of friday winds up dry as -- if the system is fast enough. another quick-hitting system coming in here late that could deliver a couple more showers in here. otherwise not expecting a tremendous amount of water throughout the week. maybe catching a half an inch or so for the next seven days. thursday afternoon, saturday afternoon, a couple more shower chances ahead at the time it stands right now. so a couple early showers across the cape and the islands and back into southeastern mass this morning. just for a few hours. any time after 8:00, 9:00, i think it's pretty much over and done. with otherwise partly sunny and breezy today. winds not as strong as it was over the weekend.

mainly clear skies tonight. chilly night tonight. low to mid-30s in a lot of suburbs. close to 30 in boston and low 40s across the cape. early sun tomorrow giving way to at times partly to mostly cloudy skies late morning, early afternoon. this is it. 44 to 50 for a high. so a lot of locations failing to even reach 50 degrees. especially across the hillier terrain of worcester county. 7 on 7 forecast. taking you through the week, no big warm-ups. we're consistent. in fact, we're below seasonal levels for m average high well into the 50s. a couple degrees either side of it throughout much of the week. >> christa: sunday night football really going the distance. it ended in a tie. the game between the seahawks and cardinals ended 6-6, the lowest-scoring tie since the league introduced overtime. so both teams had the chance to win it late in o.t., but arizona's short field goal attempt bounced off the post, and with just a few seconds remaining, seattle's attempt went wide left.

suspects. >> christa: also this morning a man in lowell will be cleaning up lots of cleaning up after trees ended up causing significant damage to his yard. trees were uprooted in his lawn. they crashed into the garage leaving a large hole in the roof. police shut down the road for a while as crews were worried the strong winds might cause other trees to fall, as well. >> i get up and i see the two house. i didn't know what to think. the rain we had, there was... the ground was soggy, yeah, the torrential rains loosened it up. >> christa: he plans to clear the other trees near his home, as well and is glad that neither he nor his dog milo was hurt. new this morning, students at boston latin school speaking out again.

signed an online petition protesting the school's dress code. the ban bans spaghetti straps and gang-relateed items. students say it discriminates against women and minorities. >> sarah: man is and reckless driving charges. police say he rear-ended a cruiser on saturday, seriously injuring the officer inside. you can see he was pretty banged up from that crash. two other passengers in the car walked away unharmed. the injured police officer has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. >> christa: and right now firefighters trying to figure our how a train ended up getting punctured causing about 2,400 gallons of fuel to spill. this was in error. according to the "globe" it took

up that area. officials believe a train hit something in the rail yard while it was moving sunday evening. american airlines says a couple boarding well before their scheduled depart time caused a flight at logan the get delayed. the airline says the couple managed to get on board this plane two hours ahead of schedule on sunday. authorities say the pair managed to get on the plane when the door should have been locked and they weren't discovered until boarding. now, american airlines released the following statement saying, "out of an abundance of caution, we unite liced a boston. >> sarah: more news today. boston police commissioner william evans receiving a special honor. he was presented with the isaac hecker award for social justice over the weekend. the commissioner received the award for his humble and compassionate approach the community policing. >> christa: and a trip to the convenience store paying off in a big way for man in rockland. anthony mclaughland won $4 million after purchasing a $10 lottery ticket.

northbound side and then crashed into a car with four people inside. so all five were killed. 495 north was shut down as state police investigated. it has since reopened. state police are still trying to piece together exactly what led up to that crash. but as you head over to 7's kris anderson and fast track alert, chris, the good news is that highway is back open. >> kris: a horrific accident there, but again, 495 in the middleborough area, northbound and southbound lanes are back open. you shouldn't have any problems there are some problems on the expressway, no accidents, but that monday morning slowdown as you're getting around the gas tank. this is 93 on the expressway heading into boston. andlet's go to the maps. only 14 minutes from the split up to the tunnel. here's where those slowdowns are you saw showing you a few moments ago. 3 looking pretty good. 24 starting to see the backup. there and you see some slowdowns around the braintree split. 95 connecting with 128 looking good. the mass pike from 495 through framingham, smooth sailing.

>> christa: right now dracut police are trying the find a missing woman. kathryn lucier was last seen in the area of very debt road. she's 75 years old. police used a dog and helicopter to search over night. a memorial service will be held in connecticut wednesday for the woman who was lost at sea during a fishing trip with her son last month. according to the hartford courant, gnaw than carmen is planning the m saying it's too premature to hold the event. nathan carmen survived after spending more than a week in the raft after going on a trip with his mother last month. court records reveal that both nathan and his mother were suspects in the murder of her father back in 2013. no charges were ever filed against either of them. a personal foul at the end of saturday's college football game between southern connecticut and merrimack, fists flying right on the field.

51 in boston. 50 in plymouth. good to be become with you folks here. we are dealing with a little bit of rainfall, but in the a lot of wet weather to deal with. steady rain across the cape and the islands as we speak. a few showers extending back into brockton. north and west of there, we are dry. and it will dry out even where it's raining by 8:00, 9:00 a.m., the rain starts the slide off to the east. mid to upper 50s this afternoon. a little bit of a breeze out there, not expecting nearly as windy of a condition as we head over the weekend. and look at this week, not expecting that warm weather to return. the average highs into the upper 50s. nowhere close to that on tuesday and wednesday. upper 40s at best. we have a cool week ahead. a lot of dry times as well, more on the seven-day forecast coming up. >> sarah: imagine that breaking news in middleborough. a wrong-way driver crashes into another car killing five. this deadly crash happened on 495 north just after midnight. >> christa: right now that stretch of highway is back open, but obviously police are looking

this. let's go to 7's john cuoco in middleborough with what we know so far. john? >> john: christa, state police confirming a multiple fatality crash on 495 involving two cars and five people. all five people were killed. now, from what we've learned from state police, one car was driving the wrong way, going south in the northbound lane of 495 near exit 3. that single driver hit a car with four people inside. the crash happened just after midnight. investigating the northbound lane is now open. it was closed earlier. you can see in this video just how bad this crash was. state police sent out a tweet saying they will be updating the media at some point this morning. once we get that information, we'll make sure to bring it right to you. for now live in middleborough, john cuoco, 7news "today in new england." >> sarah: time now for fast track traffic with kris anderson. is that crash impacting the

both the northbound and southbound lanes of 495 are open in middleborough. the scene is clear. there shouldn't be any traffic back-ups as a result of that earlier accident. this is a look live outside north of town. zakim bridge, 93 and the leverett connector, an we have a shot of south of town now. this is the expray heading into boston. not so express. all the brake lights popping up. let's look at the mays real quickly because it will take you 33 minutes. it jumped up since i left my to the tunnel. routes 3, 24 and 95 backed up as you connect with 128. turnpike starting to slow down through framingham as you get closer to boston, as well. 93, the accident up here at 495 in and year has cleared, but there's still some back-ups 93 heading into boston. route 1 in saugus is looking pretty good. let's take a look at the drive times and show you what you're dealing with. 26 minutes split to the tunnel. 128 to 93, 13 minutes. 25 minutes, 128 to the zakim. back to you, guys. >> christa:

police say a body found in merrimack river is believed to be that of missing teenager jacob goulet. of nashua, new hampshire. his belongings were found near a storm drain. police are investigating after they say someone was sexually assaulted in a dorm in boston university. it allegedly happened early sunday morning. the university sending out an alert to students yesterday afternoon. right now police do not have any suspects. >> sarah: wild weather causing trouble for a man in lowell. he'l ended up causing quite a bit of damage to his garage right here. so a strong wind gust uprooted a pair of trees in the front lawn of mike gay early sunday morning. they crashed into the garage, left a huge hole in the roof. police had to shut down the road for a while as the crews were worried that strong winds might cause other trees to fall, as well. >> i get up and i see the two trees knocking over my house.

the rain we had, there was... the ground was soggy, yeah. torrential rains loosened it up. >> christa: he plans to clear the other trees near his home. he's just glad he and his dog milo weren't injured. >> sarah: a drunk driver that crashed into an east bridgewater police officer will appear in court. a 24-year-old is facing o.u.i. and reckless driving charges. cruiser saturday, seriously injuring the officer inside. as you can see, he was pretty banged up from that crash, as well. the two other passengers in the car walked away unharmed. the injured officer has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home. >> christa: firefighters trying to figure out how a train ended up getting punctured, causing about 2,400 gallons of fuel to spill with the tanker that was punctured here. according to the "globe," it

clean up that area. officials believe the train hit something in the rail yard as it was leaving on sunday evening. >> sarah: american airlines says the couple boarding well before scheduled time caused a flight headed to logan to be delayed in philadelphia. the airline says the couple managed to get on the plane two hours ahead of time sunday at philadelphia international airport. authorities say the pair managed to get on the plane when doors should have been locked. they weren't discovered until boarding. american airlines released a statement saying, "out of an ab utilized a different aircraft for the flight to boston." >> christa: more news now, boston police commissioner william evans receiving a special honor. he was presented with the isaac hecker award for social justice. he received it over the weekend. the commissioner getting that award for what they described as his humble and compassionate approach to community policing. >> sarah: a rockland man winning big over the weekend. anthony mclaughlin won $4

>> christa: we're back at 6:41 with this dramatic story. a police ride-along turns terrifying farce jeff inside a police cruiser when it turns into a high-speed chase and shots are fired. this happened in california. it began when the officer tried to pull over an s.u.v., but the driver was refusing to stop. so a p more than a dozen shots hitting the police car several times. the civilian who was inside, a woman, suffered minor injuries from broken glass. the police officer was not hurt and the suspect got away and is still on the run this morning. >> sarah: a dozen people are recovering after a car slams into a church in florida. the 2 car swarved to avoid an accident when it crashed into a building during a prayer service. one person had to be airlifted to the hospital. no word yet on the victim's

teen who may have fallen into a storm drain before being swept away. 7's victoria warren is live this morning with the very latest. vicki? >> victoria: the last anybody knew, sarah, this teen was walking this path during some pretty heavy rains. police tracked hill right at this spot where this storm drain, is and now there is a growing memorial as friends and family try to come to terms with exactly something like this could happen. a 16-year-old jacob goulet went missing friday and friends and family fear h away into the storm drain during a sudden downpour. just before noon sunday, police found a body in the merrimack river matching jacob's description. jay can be's uncle says the family held out hope all weekend, even though early on police found jay can be's belongings near the storm drain. we saw him on surveillance video. police say at one point during the video he just dropped out of sight. so today they're going to do an autopsy on the body to do an official confirmation on whether

according to the hartford current, nathan carmen is planning a memorial service for his mother linda. her other children are not involved in this memorial. nathan carmen survived after spending more than a week in a raft after going on the trip with his mother last month. records reveal that both nathan and his mother were suspects in the murder of her father back in 20? -- 2013. no charges were filed against either of them. >> christa: and caught on camera, a personal foul at football game between southern connecticut and merrimack some a fight erupted saturday. players were shaking hands after southern connecticut's win. that's when this happened. coaches had to step in and break it all up. we reached out to the school, but they had no comment at this time >> sarah: also on 7, four people are in critical condition this morning as police continue to investigate a deadly tour bus crash in palm springs, california. 13 people were killed when a tour bus slammed into the back of a truck sunday morning.
