first on thirteen... where waukee students will go to school next year is now in the hands of the school board... its members have the task of finalizing a new boundary proposal... presented to them last night. and parents are wasting no time voicing their concerns... envision this for my son and his friends, they will have spent two years at maple grove school. under the proposed plan, they will move to waukee elementary next year for two

years, then on to vince meyer for another year, waukee middle school for one year, and then assuming things go as weve heard with the new elementary school build, over to south middle school for one year, then to timberline for two years and then to waukee high school for three years, thats seven schools in 12 years kendra rise says the school district is treating her son like a number... he's one of 574 students who would be affected by the new boundaries. the district redrew them to reduce overcrowding in many of its elementary schools. it's also in preparation for the opening of "grant ragan elementary school" next fall. the answers we get arent really answers. i expected to hear we understand. we really feel for your students and were trying to do whats best and we want to work with you but what i get is its gonna be a nice building that theyre moving to, be thankful that youre in waukee the board will make a final decision on the proposal next

two people are behind bars in connection with a road rage incident in des moines. 25 year old maria eshom and 32 year old dewayne cole are in the polk county jail. eshom is charged with "robbery"... and cole with "intimidation with a dangerous weapon." both are charged with being a "felon in possession of a firearm." deputies say they shot at another car last month... causing it to crash into a fence at "goode's greenhouses."

polk county deputies are still looking for a suspect in a deadly shoting... it happened in the 43 hundred block of northwest 6th street on sunday morning. deputies say someone opened fire outside "evolution night club"... hitting four people. one of the victims... 20 year old dashawn smith... later died at the hospital. one of the victims... 20 year old dashwan smith... later died at the hospital. anyone with information about the case should call polk county crime stoppers. that number is "5-1-5, 2-2-3, 14-hundred." a des moines mother will spend up to 40 years in prison for her role in her daughter's death... 25 year old tionne bloodsaw sat emotionless when she agreed to a plea deal she was offered. her daughter... five year old jayda... died after ingesting morphine last year. bloodsaw admits she knew illegal drugs were being produced and dealt out of her apartment. she's eligible for parole after 18 months... something the judge says is an opportunity for her...

the des moines police department is getting new tasers.. the city council voted last night to spend 82 thousand dollars to buy them. they'll come from a saint louis company. the 60 tasers will equip about two thirds of the force. the current tasers are more than six years old... and can no longer be serviced. hundreds of protesters at a missouri university saw their demands met... the president of the "university
