morning fire in the sherman park neighborhood. our deandra corinthios is live near 33th and hadley with the very latest. firefighters were called out to the scene of two house fires in the sherman park neighborhood early thursday morning, august 18th. crews responded to the area of 33rd and hadley around 5 a.m. fox6 news is told the fire broke t then spread to a home with four occupants. this is the third fire in the area this week. no additional details have been released -- including the cause of the fire or the amount of damage sustained. dewayne smoots/battalion chief 'inside should be salvageable. it may take a little cleaning will have to take place, but in

sherman park are looking for a way to move forward... nat 'ive been a resident of sherman park for 31 years. i was very disappointed. very upset what happened. but we are trying to bring back sherman park.' residents are coming together to discuss ways to get young people back into the park... and adults more a local organization has been meeting at the boys and girls club each week for the last few months. during these gatherings, kids have the opportunity to talk with neighborhood police officers and sheriffs deputies. the park has been closing each night at 6 p-m... and theres been concern about where kids who normally come here to play have been going the last few nights. the group is encouraging adults to become mentors to area children... and parents to be more active. meeting are held here every wednesday night at 6pm. a prayer vigil will be held today at all saints parish on

together in prayer as a response to the violent protests over the weekend. the vigil set to start at 6-30 tonight. representatives from 198 parishes in the archdiocese of milwaukee have been invited to attend. we're getting a closer look at the damage done by protesters who burned eight businesses. one owner has been allowed back inside since the unrest and says its worse than he imagined. fox 6 was allowed inside a to z wholesale as the owner and his son and soda distribution business was filled with ash and rubble. the products were destroyed. nearly everything is lost. the owner says he thought he'd be able to fix up the building -- but now says that's impossible. 01:25 i'm not going to give up. i just gotta find a new location. 02:33 i'm not going to let negativity take me down. i aint going to let it beat me

delays breaking news - another house fire under investigation in sherman park this morning. this is the third time a home went up in flames in the area this week. our deandra corinthios is live near 34th and hadley with the

'these are my neighbors, i know everybody around here.' new details are still trickling out about the officer-involved shooting that sparked the unrest last weekend. now the waukesha county sheriff's office says the gun held by sylville smith-- may have been stolen from a home in the town of genessee back in march. they are tracing the gun using its serial number. but

don't know if smith was the one who actually stole the gun or if he bought it from someone else. two teens were also shot during the violence this weekend. fox 6 news spoke to one of the victims... 18-year-old ben olson. he is in a neck brace after he and his friend decided to go to sherman and burleigh to see what was going on. they thought everything was safe until olson was shot in the neck - in fact the bullet is still there. his friend grabbed him and carried him to a neighbors apartment. 'it just all happened so fast because i didnt hear any gunshots or anything before that. we thought it know, some debris was being thrown but that was about it. ben says he feels blessed to be alive. hes now writing down the events that happened in a journal to help him process the shooting. the family of another man killed by police says they are still waiting for answers. 25-year-old jay anderson was killed by a wauwatosa police officer nearly

connection to the death of sylville smith-- they personally know his brother. star delarosa says she knows exactly how smith's family is feeling. she says while the actions saturday night of some individuals are not justified, the communities' pain is. a lot of people are tired of police killing people. killing black men, and getting away with it. delerosa is hopeful they'll have answers soon. the wauwatosa police department says investigators are still waiting on enhanced dash cam video to be se b irish fest kicks off today! and organizers are spreading the word it will be safe...after the weekend violence in the city. fox's jenna sachs with the message from tourism officials. it's one of milwaukee's most popular festivals ... and as crews put the finishing touches on food stands ... organizers of irish fest want to ease any fears. i think for a lot of people who don't live in milwaukee, they weren't sure where this event

safe? the festival has called visiting dignitaries and vendors ... to discuss the city's recent violence ... so far no one has canceled plans to attend. i think they're realizing that it's a big city, this event happened in an isolated area that's away from downtown and away from the grounds. irish fest has also hired extra security. just so that people see the presence and they feel more assured. first thing monday ... visit milwaukee was calling its conference visiting groups ... to offer reassurances. it's business as usual and they should expect to have the same experiences they've had in the past. still the tourism group acknowledges ... there's no real way to measure the full impact recent violence has had ... on future visitors. we know these types of stories when people are making travel decision and making decisions where they can hold their meetings and events, these types of stories do make them think. visit milwaukee says no conference reservations have been cancelled. and pretty much everyone i spoke with says as the city has calmed down, they've had

fox6news. we're learning more about the investigation into three u-s swimmers who say they were robbed while at the rio summer games. angelica joins us from the newsroom with the latest on the allegations. three u-s swimmers are expected to give their statements today to brazilian police about reportedly being robbed in rio. the controversy started after ryan lochte -- who is already back in the others were robbed at gunpoint in a taxi by men who had police badges over the weekend. police say they have found little evidence to back up the swimmers' stories...adding that they were unable to provide key details in police interviews. and then last night - jack conger and gunnar bentz were taken off the plane headed for home before take off. they were released with the understanding that they would cooperate with police. jimmy feigen will also speak with authorities today.

company, tribune broadcasting has been under a blackout by dish network since june. as we work through contract negotiations - and with the packers regular season quickly approaching - thats bad news for football fans! your friends or family members who are dish subscribers, could lose access to some of the packers games this season. we talked with gary weitman the senior v-p of corporate relations at tribune media to get an update gary weitman -- 17:51 were continuing to try to negt process and im not optimistic this will get resolved before the nfl season begins. so what were trying to do at this stage is sound the alarm for people, sound the alarm for dish customers now might be the time to think about changing providers . trt :17 gary weitman --its particularly important for nfl fans and packers fans, because as you know witi carries a lot of the packers game, 9 of them, 9 of the regular season games

ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef 2 tablespoons worcestershire 2 tablespoons ketchup 2 tablespoons cream cheese 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder salt and pepper, to taste 6 strips bacon, cooked and chopped 8 fajita-size flour

shredded cheddar cheese instructions: to make the beef filling, heat a large skillet with the olive oil, then add the ground beef to brown. after the beef has been broken up and browned through, add the ketc salt and stir to combine. remove the beef filling from the pan and let the skillet cool for a few minutes, then wipe out with a paper towel. return the skillet to the heat and add a tablespoon of butter to start melting. add one flour tortilla to the skillet then lay on a cup of the beef filling followed buy a half
