creek-- customers come and go without issue- but last week-- 05:37 that's just crazy. three people were stopped--before they could ever leave the store. 06:11 i'm glad that they caught them. very good. stacy harvey, yolanda holmes and bernesha thompson are accused of stealing thousands of dollas to a criminal complaint-- meijer employees had been keeping an eye on the suspects. surveillance showed the three go for large box items--like a grill and a vacuum cleaner. removing them from the boxes and replacing them with more expensive merchandise. customers are surprised by the bold crime. 05:27 i'm wondering how nobody else saw a great big huge box getting cut open and people putting things inside. the three suspects were stopped by police who say they found scissors and tape in harvey's pocket.

authorities say they found more than $9,000 worth of valuables inside...mostly electronics. a clever crime halted by authorities. 05:10 it's kind of sad that it is happening because that just trickles down to the rest of us. a search warrant reveals the oak creek store may have not been their only target. investigators believe they may be connected to thefts at several other meijer stores in illinois. stephanie? a dramatic scene at a kenosha a man walked in -- and what happened next -- led to the bomb squad being called... "nats ... explosion." we were the only television station there as the bomb squad detonated a suspicious device. it happened at the johnson bank. we're told: the robbery suspect gave the teller a note saying there was a bomb and wanted one million dollars. after a few hours -- police ordered him to

bomb. no one was injured during the incident. now to a fox six exclusive. a milwaukee man is in handcuffs after police say he was trying to impersonate a police officer. fox6's angelica sanchez joins us live outside milwaukee police district three with more angelica . ben and stephanie--- experts say there are ways to tell an officer from an impersonator. we're told this incident happened in broad daylight neat avenue. one woman says this has left her feeling uneasy. "impersonating is not a joke especially an authority like that." mahogani cheeks works at highland community school. she's been a member of this community for more than 20 years. she's concerned a man was attempting to impersonate a police officer in her neighborhood. "i'm going to stress the fact that a school is

unsettling for me as a parent and staff member." according to milwaukee police-- on thursday at 2:45 in the afternoon a 40- year-old milwaukee man identified himself as a police officer and ordered a passing driver to pull over. police have yet to say what happened next. the suspect is now in police custody. a source with fox 6 tells us he was wearing a police like uniform and his car was similar to an unmarked squad car. criminal justice expert brian dorow says incidents like this are rare but there are ways to distinguish a police impersonator. "as a l very slim chance that an unmarked squad will ever pull somebody over for a traffic stop." dorow says in the slim chance this does happen a driver should scan the officer's uniform and look for a badge. they should be able to show you an id that matches their badge number. he says a civilian has the right to request an id and the right to call authorities to report suspicion of a possible impersonator. "most departments have a protocol of some kind that when some type of police interaction is going to take place they will have a marked

officers safety as well." meanwhile residents like cheeks hope this was an isolated incident. "it's an uneasy feeling that anybody can just abuse that authority." we're told this case will be presented to the milwaukee district attorney in the coming days. reporting live outside milwaukee police district 3 i'm angelica sanchez fox6 news. the woman convicted of killing two men in a crash last december is sentenced to 15y 24-year-old jasmine ray pleaded guilty to two counts of of homicide by vehicle -- with use of a controlled substance. last december -- she crashed a stolen car into another vehicle and fled the scene. 59-year-old darrell thompson and 57- year-old terry jackson were both killed. today in court -- ray expressed her remorse to their families. you decide coverage now. vice president joe biden was in madison to campaign for hillary clinton.

wisconsin's dead-heat u-s senate race. political reporter theo keith says biden appeared to have two priorities today. biden and feingold embracejoe biden hugged russ feingold -- and then ripped into his opponent, republican u-s senator ron johnson. this guy doesnt even want to raise the minimum wage, he doesnt think there should be a federal minimum wage it's clear why biden spent so much time on johnson. polls show wisconsin's u-s the presidential here. johnson has embraced donald trump in recent days, appearing at a rally in eau claire together this week. senator johnson introduced mr. trump at an event they jointly did and he referred to them as the ronald and donald show. well folks, given a choice, ill take ronald mcdonald feingold, who has watched his double-digit lead

he will never vote with you against the corporations the clinton campaign says more than 12-hundred people showed up. less than a mile from the university of wisconsin campus biden embraced reducing the cost of college and increasing the minimum wage. he saved some criticism for trump. he is thoroughly unprepared and unqualified to be commander in chief of the united states of america republicans said biden's visit was like democrats hitting the panic button, now that feingold's race with ron johnson is getting closer. in ron johnson was out campaigning today with hour speaker paul ryan in mosinee. a power outage caused some problems shortly before the event began... an associated press reporter tweeting this picture this morning... you can see -- well, not much inside the venue.-- because of the outage... so instead -- they moved the event outside... where ryan made a pitch for johnson -- while johnson himself focused on russ feingold. as packers wide receiver ty montgomery is hoping to r the field on sunday, the packers defense is looking at the colts receivers who will be catching balls from andrew luck. tonight tim van vooren focuses on that aspect of sunday's game from lambeau field.
