rattles an area still recovering from last years deadly quake. this morning's quake had a magnitude of 5-point-4. the good news..there were no reports of casualties or damages. nepal is still recovering from the quake that killed nearly 9-thousand people and damaged 1 million homes. syrian forces have recaptures a key district of eastern aleppo from rebels. this as the syrian army continues pushing deeper into rebel-held territory in eastern aleppo. syrian troops have captured parts of the city's largest district. these areas have been under rebel control for the last four years. thousands continue to flee as airstrikes hammer rebel defenses. human rights groups say those who remain in aleppo have just a few days of food, water and other supplies left. back here in the u-s.. a developing story

police. police were called to an area of kansas city early sunday morning for reports of gun fire. when they arrived, officers saw several people in nearby vehicles shooting at eachother. at least one officer opened fire. three cars crashed as drivers tried to escape the chaos. when the bullets stopped, seven people were injured... and there were at least four different crime scenes. police are questioning several possible suspects. another massive shootout over the weekend.. this one in new orleans where 10 one person died from their injuries. police say the shooting started with an argument between two men. moments later gunfire erupted. the victims in the shooting ranged from between 20 and 37 years old. police are still searching for the shooters. breaking overnight.. passengers and crew members who were aboard an american airlines jet are safe.. after a terrifying experience. jummy olabanji is here with more. the plane made an emergency landing..

the plane was headed from dallas to las vegas last night. suddenly, the pilot reported engine failure, and requested an emergency landing. the plane landed in albuquerque, new mexico, just before nine p.m. it's not clear what caused the engine failure. no injuries were reported. a powerball player in tennesse is waking up this more a whole lot richer. one lucky person in numbers drawn saturday night. the ticket was worth 421-million dollars! the winner has not come forward yet and has 180 days to claim the prize. lottery officials are advising the winner to sgn the back of the tickey and keep in a secure location. time now for weather - dry today; increasing clouds - much needed rain

d.c. police are trying to find out who pistol whipped and robbed a mailman, while he was on the job. two men attacked him saturday night.. on second and "u" streets northeast. they stole his phone, keys, pants, and shoes after they realized he didn't have any cash. he's now out of the hospital, after getting three stitches on his forehead. he did not want to be identified. the attackers were dressed all in black, with masks over their faces. the u.s. postal inspection service is offering a 50-thousand dollar reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. happening today, and through friday.. flags in maryland will fly at half-staff in honor of a man who headed the maryland national guard for 16 years. retired lieutenant general james fretterd died saturday at his home in federalsburg. he was 86. fretterd served in the national guard
