curfew still in effect, after a tennessee town is a wildfire ripped through gatlinburg- killing 3 - and injuring at least 14 more. and this morning - the danger isn't over. winds are still strong, creating a difficult situation for firefighters. more than 250 structures were damaged or destroyed.. and thousands have been forced to evacuate. a national park service spokesperson has indicated the initial fire was human-caused.but declined to elaborate. the curfew will be lifted at six this morning. breaking overnight... a shooting investigation in the

14th street northeast.. in the brentwood area. he was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries. so far, very few details about what happened but police say they are looking for a white nissan seen in the area. also developing now - a man, shot to death at a food lion in manassas. the deadly gunfire- happening inside the entrance of the store, while customers were still inside, around 7:30 last night. prince william county police say they are interviewing witnesses, but there are conflicting right now no one is under arrest, but police do not believe there is a threat to the community. right now.. fairfax county police are searching for a man who allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl. investigators say 18-year-old ronald herrera contreras is a gang member. and they say the rape occurred on july 13th off lee highway, west of downtown falls church. police say the girl eventually told a case worker. they wouldn't say if contreras is an undocumented immigrant, but they say immigration and customs agents are

now: isis says artan was a "soldier of the islamic state." however - the terror group isn't saying if it actually directed him to carry out the attack. 11 people were hurt. the suspect was shot and killed by a police officer. new details this morning.. in the case of that missing mother found alive in california. authorities are backing off speculation that sherri papini's abduction was a hoax. papini vanished while jogging and was found three weeks later on thanksgiving day. she was covered with bruises, burns and was chained at the wrists when she was found. papini's skin was also branded..something police believe was some sort of message. authorities are still hunting for papini's captors.

driving a dark s-u-v. at least 16 people have now been sickened by a food illness from a community thanksgiving meal. three of those people have died. san francisco bay area health officials are still trying to figure out what specifically caused the illnesses, but they appear to have narrowed the source to a church-sponsored feast held at the american legion hall in antioch, california. the battle over the minimum wage is intensifying. protesters rallied outside the montgo last night. they support a bill that would incrementally raise the county's minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour by 20-20. the rally was one of several protests across the country. one worker said a boost in pay would help her live more reasonably in a county with a high cost of living.

are worried it could cause some businesses to leave the county. as it stands now, montgomery county's minimum wage will rise in july from ten-75 to eleven-50 an hour. the national minimum wage is seven-25 an hour. this morning we're meeting the "tennessee 20." these lucky 20 co-workers are sharing a 420 million dollar powerball jackpot. they work for an auto parts manufacturer- and they've played powerball together for years- but never in a million years did they keeping their jobs -- for now. but - they're much more comfortable. by the way - the split on the jackpot - 12 point 7 million dollars each.

"laron campbell" waas found in nearby contra costa county.

escaped the night before thanksgiving by sawing through the jail bars and rappelling to the ground with a bedsheet rope. hyde-addison elementary school in georgetown is scheduled to close for a two-year-long renovation. during that time, the city plans to relocate the school's 316 students to meyer elementary school in d.c.'s shaw neighborhood. that's nearly three miles away. at a meeting last night, frustrated parents expressed their concerns to mayor muriel bowser. mayor bowser says the city with a couple of alternatives. one is the university of the district of columbia. that's farther away than meyer elementary, but it takes less time to get to. bowser belives that option could delay hyde-addison's 25-million dollar renovation. we're following a mystery on the potomac river this morning.
