going to help to warm us up as well. now we check out a coastal flood advisory in effect now until lunchtime today for the areas here shaded in the blue. so we could have a little bit of flooding along the coastal areas for today. all right. it's time to get our abc2 timesafer traffic check with lauren. >> reporter: good morning. we have the first accident of the day in harford county in bel air. and that's going to be on route 22 at shamrock road. so watch out for that. if you are using the jfx we have the ongoing construction that continues to block one lane in both directions here at 28th street. no delays just yet. so it will be an easy rye. but later in the morning you might want to use falls street. all is clear at fort mchenry and harbor tunnel. no concerns on the beltway in the parkville area. it will be a nice easy ride making the drive on that outer loop from 95 all the way up to 83. here's a live look at the west side at liberty road, everything is up to speed.

you are looking at an 11 inminute ride from 795 down towards 95. and that's a look at your abc2 timesafer traffic. now back to you. two minutes after five. and a new report out this morning says teen passengers spell danger for beginning drivers. abc2 news sherrie johnson is live in downtown baltimore with more on the story. sherrie. >> reporter: yeah, good morning. we are live here along the jfx. not much traffic here this morning. a lot of folks use this roadway and new this morning, a study shows that a teenage driver has a higher risk of dying in an accident when there are other teens in the car. the study also shows a numberdrops when an adult is in the car. this study was released by aaa safety foundation. research has shown that other teens in the car is distracting to ginner drivers. but most previous studies on the issue are more than a decade old and don't reflect changes in state driving laws. the study found that teens driving with their friend in the car continue to be far

riskier than driving alone or with an adult. the study was based on an examination of government data on teen crashes from 2007 to 2010. compared to driving with no passengers, a 16 or 17-year-old driver risk of death increases44% when carrying a passenger younger than 21. it quadruples when carrying 3 or more passengers that age. aaa released the study inconjunction with a rally held in washington, d.c. to kick off global use traffic safety month. all in an effort to try to keep teens a little safer on roadways. reporting live in downtown baltimore, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. in depock i -- democracy 2012 voters in india and north carolina and west virginia will head to the polls to vote happening today. mitt romney and ron paul are the two remaining contenders with romney holding a large delegate lead over paul. last night, romney received an endorsement by e-mail from the

former opponent rick santorum. romney is holding a campaign in he event in lansing michigan. a funeral service for a priest shot in the church will be held today. police say reverend dr. mary- margeurite kohn and brenda were shot by a homeless man after being turned away from the food bank emmett killed himself after the shootings. the funeral service will be at 3 today at the cathedral of the incarnation in baltimore. services for brewington is tomorrow at st. john's pershall in ellicott city. a teen is in custody and charges for setting fire to a apartment complex at the columbia mall. richard has been doing this for several weeks. during the weekend they waited outside the mall and before 1:30 they saw him running from a burning dumpster and is charged with setting 6 fires and total damage is estimated at more than 400,000 dollars.

health news for you this morning, the new obesity report is set to be released and the findings are alarming. linda so is here with the details. >> reporter: the record fients -- report finds 42% of americans will be obese by 2030. institute of medicine plans to release the report today at a conference hosted by the cdc. the report -- host by the cdc. the report suggest 30 million americans will be obese in 18 years and with levels rising at that rate it would cost an additional 549.5 billion dollars in medical cost. the study suggest that about 11% of the americans will be obese by 2030 meaning they would be 100 pounds overweight. the institute of medicine says more need to be done faster to curb rising obesity rates and the report focus on straties -- strategies to pour healthy weight. linda so abc2 news. the skies in indonesia were glowing. >> this morning celebration

are look at an 11 minute ride from 795 towards 95. and that's a look at your abctime safer traffic and now here's lynette with a look at your forecast. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are -- >> we are on the breezy side. the wind are out of the south to 5 to 15 miles an hour. 8 miles sustained along the eastern shore and the nation's capital around 12. we will see gusts today up to 20 to 25 miles an hour. right now, temperatures are mild. you don't need the heavy coat. maybe a slight sweater or jacket. 60 in baltimore 59 in easton. more of the same in york and frederick and hagerstown and winchester. satellite and radar stepping out the door. take the rain gear with you in case because we will see the chance for some isolated showers maybe a thunderstorm to pop up as we go later into the morning especially the afternoon. and then more rain, you can see the bulk of the action back there off towards the west and west virginia and also ohio.

that will begin to really get its act together as we go through the overnight into tomorrow morning. it can be a little bit wet on the roadways. now we look at this system. this is the one pushing in from the west. and with that, that's going to be giving us the much needed rain that we need. now future trend picks up on that rain back off towards the west beginning to move in. so, tonight, around 10:00 yes we could see wet roadways and it begins to fizzle out a bit. but don't think it's gone. this is what i wanted to show you. now the eastern shore really going to get in on some of the heavier rain and that's a good thing. we need that. they are in a severe drought and it moves out and things looking much better if you like the drier weather and the sunshine as we head into thursday. but for today, not so much sunshine. that temperature coming in right around 75 degrees. we have the showers possible and check out what i have here. the game day forecast. that temperature around 73 and breezy with the wind out of the south 10 to 15 miles an hour. charley. news time 5:19. and new this morning, a south

dakota beef company says it will close processing plants in three states because of controversy surrounding a product that has been dubbed pink slime. the plants will be closed to amarillo texas garden city kansas and waterloo iowa effective may 25th and 650 people will be out of work. the company already suspend operations last month -- suspended operations after the month at the three plants. governor o'malley may studity expansion of gambling in maryland to clotish you've adding the 6th casino in pg county. it move delays effort to have the issues placed on the november ballot according to state official and analysting. a meeting will be held to discuss a pine line project. the line is expected to run through oregon ridge forest and other properties so tonight's meeting starts at 7:00 at the oregon ridge lodge. the second meet something scheduled for tomorrow at 7 -- meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at 7 at youth elementary school.
