good morning. i'm john muller. >> and i'm rina nine en. we are learning new chilling details about the anti-government couple who killed two cops and a civilian in las vegas. their friends say they talked all the time about killing cops but no one reported them to the police. senators meet behind closed doors for a hearing on the controversial prisoner swap which freed brk bb. the house armed services committee announced it will investigate the swap. a lack of sleep maybe to blame for the accident that injured tracy morgan. donald sterling is going ahead with his billion dollar lawsuit against the nba.

he's also withdrawing his support for the sale of the l.a. clippers. that's because the league isn't revoking his lifetime ban against him for racist comments. those are some of the top stories on this tuesday, june 10th. >> announcer: from abc news, this is "world news now." all right. good tuesday morning, everybody. we will begin this half hour with chilling new details about what apparently drove that husband and wife team to a keling spree in las vegas. >> the investigator say the two so-called sovereign citizens saw police and government as oppressors. abc's mary bruce has the latest. good morning, mary. >> reporter: this is the husband and wife team that investigators believe executed two police officers in an anti-government rage. 31-year-old jerad miller and his wife 22-year-old amanda miller. >> they believed that law enforcement is the oppressor and they are associated with the nazi movement.

>> reporter: it was sunday morning when the couple walked in to this pizza restaurant and ambushed two officers on their lunch break, killing both men. draping their bodies with a don't tread on me flag and pinning on them a swastika and a note that read, the revolution has begun. the rampage continued in the wal-mart across the street. when an unarmed person confronted them, they shot him. they carried out a suicide attack. the wound amanda shot her husband before turning the gun on herself. jerad posted a final message to facebook, the dawn of a new day. may all of our coming sacrifices be worth it. neighbors say the suspected killers talked openly about their plan to kill police. >> they told us they didn't believe in the government, feds or cops and wanted to get rid of as many as they can. >> reporter: but no one came forward to report them. >> i have five deaths on my shoulders. i should have called the cops.

>> reporter: now the two officers who were killed were both husbands and fathers. one has three children. the other leaves behind a newborn baby. john and rina? >> thank you. an internal v.a. report finds more than 57,000 veterans have been waiting 90 days or more for their first v.a. medical appointments. 64,000 more never got appointments at all. the report also found that 13% of schedulers say they were told to fix records to show shorter waiting time periods. the v.a.'s acting inspector general says the investigation could lead to criminal charges. president obama is offering student loan relief to 5 million more people. the president signed a moratorium at the white house yesterday surrounded by student loan borrowers. it lets borrowers pay no more than 10% of their income in payments and include those who took out student loans before 2007. the president pulled off his i'm just a regular guy stunt yesterday, wannabes any way.

top senators meet behind closed doors to investigate the deal that freed bowe bergdahl. the white house has been on the defensive over the prisoner swap which freed five detainees from guantanamo. the house armed services committee has announced it will also investigate the prison swap. republicans are furious they have not been informed in advance but were told 80 to 90 members of the administration knew of the deal. we are learning new, chewing details about the husband and wife sovereign citizen terror team who killed two police officers and a civilian in las vegas over the weekend. the couple's friends say jerad and amanda miller talked all the time about killing cops but no one reported them to the police. in april, the millers joined the standoff against federal agents at cliven bundy's cattle ranch but asked to leave because jerad was a convicted felon. jerad's final facebook post read the dawn of a new day may all our coming sacrifices be worth it. tracy morgan is in critical

but stable this morning as details surface as to what may have led to the deadly crash. the truck driver that slammed in to the limo bus morgan was riding in may not have slept in more than 24 hours before the accident. wal-mart said they believe they were operating within federal guidelines which allows no more than 11 hours a day behind the wheel. morgan is expected to be hospitalized for weeks. a frightening crash scene unfolded in columbus, ohio, when a car plowed in to a day care center. there were nearly a dozen children inside the facility at the time along with two teachers. luckily no one was hurt. the driver suffered minor injuries. she had the car in the wrong gear. she recently started to work at that day care center. tragically much different story for one young child killed in a freak accident in san francisco. 2-year-old cason shelton was playing on a six foot bronze statue. part of an art gallery sidewalk display when the statue fell on top of him. he died at the hospital. the gallery is incited by police

for displaying statues too far out on to the sidewalk. a climbers on the road to recovery after taking a dangerous tumble on a mountain in washington state. vivian debros and her climbing partner were on mount stuart, 9,000 feet in the air when she slid 800 feet and suffered serious injuries. her friend called 911 but gusty winds kept helicopter rescues from reaching them. they had to spend another night in the cold huddled together to keep warm. >> the mountains are risky. it is variable terrain, unpredictable, different conditions. that's just part of it. i don't think i'd do anything differently if i went back other than not go. maybe walk around on rocks somewhere or something. i don't know. >> reporter: debros suffered a broken rib, arm and cheekbone. she says it could have been much worse. texas teenager is also recovering after a shark attack in galveston. the 14-year-old girl was in waist-deep water when the shark chomped down leaving teeth marks

on her back and she could hear the shark exhale before taking the bite. she said it wasn't really painful but felt like something hit her. sharks are also keeping swimmers out of the water in alabama. up to 150 sharks spotted in the shallow waters off of orange beach. officials put up warning flags to alert beach goers. most people remained on the sand. some were undeterred and jumped in any way. an out of control wildfire triggered evacuation orders for dozens of homes in oregon. thousands of homeowners in the city of bend have been put on standby. the fires burned nearly 7,000 acres in two days and it's only 5% contained. the weather unfortunately is expected to only get drier and windier. it's quite a different story across the eastern half of the country. an estimated 18 million americans are in the storm zone after days of flooding, rains, hail and tornados. it's not over yet. abc's steve osunsami has more. >> reporter: it was a dark morning for families in fate,
