good morning. >> good morning, and we're starting with such a change from yesterday where we had near record temperatures. today we have a winter weather advisory and for lancaster county this starts at 10:00 a.m. but watching it until 10:00 p.m. here for areas including reading, allentown and mount pocono where you're going to see snow and sleet changeover to rain. we already have some precipitation through the area and satellite 6 and action radar showing a lot of cloud cover and at this point we're seeing what's mostly rain move through. it's very light in the areas that may be getting a little bit of sleeting as well. how about those temperatures? we're above freezing in the lehigh valley but just barely so. 34 degrees. it's 35 in reading but just 25 in mount pocono. so you see the temperature spread. 39 degrees in philadelphia. temperatures about 15 degrees cooler than they were at this point yesterday. it's 38 in millville but milder where you'll get just rain along the boardwalk. 40 degrees currently. and as we look at future tracker 6 and kind of advance this a little bit we can see through 9:30 in the morning rain and maybe a little sleet
mixing in, in and out through the region. at 11:30 we have a mixed precipitation in philadelphia and some snowfall in the northwest suburbs that will change over to rain so continuing to watch this at 2:30 in the afternoon. you have to go up to allentown and north, i think that's the best chance to see more concerns with sort of slippery conditions would be up there. remember the road surfaces are well above freezing where we had temperatures well into the 60's yesterday so a lot more on the forecast in coming up in just a few minutes. matt. >> i know i'm feeling concerned for later on today, karen, but this morning things are looking good. mostly dry around the region as we look live. in fact, it was so dry they decided to do overnight construction on this ramp from girard avenue to the eastbound lanes of the schuylkill expressway. construction crews have cleared out and there's no traffic on the ramp here by the zoo right now, either. we had so many problems yesterday morning on 76 itself. this morning everything is nice and clear with speeds in the 50's and upper 40's there westbound by south street. no issues either on 95 or the roosevelt boulevard. traffic's moving well so far
this morning. there's a work zone to watch out for on 76, the pennsylvania turnpike. westbound direction about 3 miles west of the downingtown interchange, they're taking out the right lane there. out here in the devon area we had construction scheduled last night where 202, 422 and the schuylkill all come together. they canceled that construction because of the rain early last evening. at this point everything is dry, no construction so you're sitting pretty as you travel through this area of chester county and if you're using our good buddy ben, ben franklin bridge this morning, so far so good with no restrictions on this tuesday. matt. >> thank you you matt. let's begin with a developing story. flames poured out of the windows of this north philadelphia row home leaving one person hurt. the fast moving fire broke out along the 2900 block of north 24th street at 1:00 a.m. the action cam caught fire crews battling the blaze on the first and second floors of the house. it took fire crews about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. no word on the victim's condition. investigators are still working to try and figure out
what started the fire. and developing right now, a young man who was struck by a hit and run driver in west philadelphia spent the night fighting for his life. it happened at 59th and market streets at 9:00 last night. police say a volvo station wagon ran him down as he crossed the street. the driver and the striking vehicle are still nowhere to be found making the story worse, police do not know who the victim is and no relatives have come forward. for now, he is a john doe patient at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. >> bill cosby has cut ties with his alma mater temple university. the comedian has resigned from the university's board of trustees. more than a dozen women have come forward accusing cosby of sexual misconduct. several women saying cosby drugged them and then raped them. his attorney has repeatedly denied these claims and cosby has not been charged. temple's board president says cosby didn't want to be a distraction. cosby holds 2 degrees from temple.

glancing at that right now. but i think that's a really good idea of what's to come. let's take a look outside right now and show you what's happening as sky 6 looks live. we're looking in center city towards the center city skyline right now and we have just cloudy skies for the most part and a little bit of light rain and drizzle. let's check some of the temperatures for you. currently in philadelphia it's 39 degrees. temperatures well above freezing. the road surfaces well above freezing after temperatures in the mid 60's yesterday. the dewpoint 24 degrees. and that's what's happening right now. some dry air at the surface so while it looks like it's precipitation at the radar, a lot of that is just evaporating but that cooling is what's changing it into some sleet in some areas as it will come down very light. winds out of the north-northeast at 14 miles an hour. big switch from yesterday when it was that mild southwesterly flow and the pressure 30.5-inches. winter weather advisory continues. yesterday they issued it for lancaster county. now we're looking at northwest
suburbs for snow and sleet changing over to rain. as we look at satellite 6 and action radar you can see this precipitation move in. again, looks like it's snowing and raining in spots where for the most part it's very light and fine. i think south of the city is where you're picking up some of that rain. in the northwest suburbs it's very light at this point. future tracker 6 showing at 4:30 in the morning we were in the mid 30's but we advance this through the day and staying for the most part above freezing and the road surfaces above there as well. as we look at here the day for the afternoon we can see your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast we're getting today rain and a wintry mix at times. it's going to rain through the day today. the wintry mix we're most concerned about in those areas you saw the winter weather advisory in the northwest suburbs. i think that's the one spot where we can see icing continue through part of the afternoon hours when it really starts up there. 42 degrees for your high today. the high well above freezing. and wednesday, tomorrow, we're looking at much milder conditions. we're up to 55 with just a shower or two. on thursday, it's partly sunny skies.
thursday is the pick of the week. temperature-wise it's a little on the cool side at 46 degrees but at this point it's looking like the only dry day. we've had so many damp and dreary days. on the seven day that continues especially friday damp and dreary 48 degrees clouds an few showers. on saturday we'll see periods of rain and 52 degrees. on sunday for the eagles we're looking at 52 degrees under mostly cloudy skies and a shower or two and on monday, a bit of rain and drizzle and a high of 54. >> okay, we'll be ready. thanks, karen. new this morning here, a man was shot in the stomach and collapsed in the street in philadelphia's strawberry mansion section. police say the shooter opened fire on the 23-year-old victim at close range. at 30th and huntingdon streets. the man was rushed into surgery at temple university hospital. police do not know who shot him or why. they are checking surveillance cameras to see if they provide any clues. >> now it's time to take a first look at business. federal agents on a case involving graco. they want to know if the company took too long to report defects in its child
car seats. the company recalled more than 6 million car seats this year because the buckles can get stuck and that could put a child's life at risk. its fbi is warning businesses that hackers are really busy this holiday season using malicious software to launch destructive attacks in the u.s. we've already seen one this week when a cyber attack led to the leak of several new films from sony. let's take a look at wall street. a poor starter to the holiday shopping season knocks stocks a little bit lower on monday. right now futures seem to point to a lower open. and google santa village page is up and running. you can send your friends a call from santa, see the jolly he would elf's journey on a map and play reindeer racing games. one other cool feature is a geography game. that lets you enjoy holiday traditions from around the world. >> people have been taken aback by the commercialism and sometimes agreed during the holiday popping season. came up with a counter point giving tuesday. today they ask you to be
