comfortable degrees right now. low 60s in reading and trenton. 69 on the boardwalks down by the shore. 71 by 8:00. noon, 81 the high will be 85 degrees reading at 3:00 p.m. the clouds are getting thicker and late day or evening shower possible down by the shore. looks like the showers will past to the south tonight that means most of the rain later tonight and tomorrow morning should be in south jersey and delaware, although philadelphia could catch a little bit of that. i'll show you that on future tracker 6 coming up next and we'll look at the models suggesting that. what about the roads karen. >> reporter: the roads are not as bad as they normally be, it's summertime. live i-95 southbound traffic starting to pick up. 15 minute ride southbound that's not bad overall on i-95.

speeds 35-mile an hour near girard. the schuylkill expressway is in good shape mostly in the 40s and 50s, moving along nicely. we have a problem with a disabled vehicle plymouth road at west germantown pike. an accidents on kiem street and industrial highway. the boulevard southbound getting busy southbound as you approach the schuylkill. overall clear and dry no weather-related problems this morning, tam. >> we're at the big board to talk about the pope's visit. what a smile look we've got 51 days, three hours before the pope is here. my advice if you want to be for all of this, if you have to be in center city invest in a new pear of sneakers. here's what why. the pope will be here for two days, during that time we'll have 25 miles of highway being closed. you see what's highlighted. these are called by the city

traffic boxes. you can drive if you're inside the boxes but once you go outside there's no driving back in. you can walk back in, but no driving. so i had to go to wawa, i had to get a cheese steak, i had to see mom. when you get there they won't let you back in. here's what's going to happen. a little bit of a difference here this traffic box will be closed actually that is wrong. that's 6:00 p.m. that closes down. spring garden, ridge avenue, girard over that way that's the northern border to the bottom, the border is south street. there's a smawrl -- smaller section, west philadelphia, university city that's 10:00 p.m. friday night september 26th. that evening after 6:00 p.m. you can't get in and out of the traffic box in your car. west philadelphia, university city that goes into place at 10:00 p.m. it kind of makes your head want to explode thinking about it. let's go over to katherine scott

live from the philadelphia art museum with more reaction. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam traffic boxes road closures people who live around here knew they are they were going to be disrupted, now that the closures and restrictions have been released many are planning ahead. traffic restrictions for the pope's visit are out and residents are learning about where they can and cannot go. >> private vehicles will not be a viable option on the weekend in center city. >> i've changed my plans. >> reporter: most of the road and bridge shut down takes place friday evening september 25th. the night before the pope arrives. getting around could be significant. >> coming into the city, or leaving the city will be hectic. >> reporter: no septa bus service or trolley service within the traffic boxings. bikes will be allowed in and

out, businesses that remain open that weekend many have started planning. >> we've had meetings about it and trying to prepare for it as best as we can. >> reporter: businesses city hospitals many are bringing cots for people to salim -- sleep on. be prepared to do a lot of walking no matter where you are. >> the schuylkill expressway eastbound from the blue route to i-95. westbound i-95 to route run. vine street expressway shut down river to river. the ben franklin bridge closed until noon the following day. city avenue is blocked at city line and belmont because the pope is staying at saint charles on city avenue. as tam mentioned your head is about to explode. take a look at the traffic restrictions by going to 6abc.com, plus share the

workers. ceos are making 200 times as much. the gap is bigger in some companies. ceos are paid 800 times more than their workers when you put it out there it's a jarring number to see. 800 times more. thanks maribel. let's turn to david and talk about the accuweather forecast. >> reporter: it's going to be a nice day overall, but we'll have to deal with increase in clouds. as we look at morning commute it's dry. let's look outside on sky6 live hd. sunshine up over the ben franklin bridge and the jersey coastline. looking bright to start out although the clouds will get thicker as the day goes on. 70 degrees in philadelphia. cool and comfortable in the lehigh valley, out toward reading and trenton. 64 in millville. low 70s on the boardwalks this morning. sun early will give way to increasing clouds by the time we get into the afternoon and evening, we'll be under mostly

cloudy skies and there's a slight chance we see a sprinkle fire up or perhaps a shower in south jersey and southern delaware. this run of this model doesn't show that, but i can't rule it out. later tonight we'll see more rain. the steadier will be down toward the shore in south jersey and delaware. light stuff could pop up to philadelphia, and it could be here during the later evening hours and up to midnight and beyond. 81 degrees in the lehigh valley. sun and clouds. pleasant. that rain staying to the south you don't have to worry about any rain in the lehigh valley. at the shore increasing clouds, as i mentioned late-day rain is possible. if you're lucky it will hold off until later in the evening. the better chance of that the farther south you go along the coast. 85 is the high in philadelphia. clouds on the march as we go through the day light rain south of the city and getting up into philadelphia later this evening. winds north/northwest 8 miles per hour.

temperatures warm, 11:00 a.m., 80. 84 by 2:00. 85 degrees atmosphere 3:00 p.m. after midnight, the steadier stuff is down south. this model run has the rain getting away from us by noon. in actuality there's a possibility we see on and off showers continuing through much of the day down south. philadelphia dries out during the morning hours. models are not in agreement how much we get. one model things the low will be closer to us, we'll get .5 inches of rain. at the shore, most of the models are projecting more rain, again an indication the farther south you go the closer you are to the center of the rain-making low pressure center. increasing clouds today 85,

boxes in center city and west philadelphia. the northern boundary, spring garden, up ridge to girard, down the schuylkill expressway river and south to the delaware river. that closure begins at 6:00 p.m. friday. at 10:00 p.m., university city will be closed to traffic from powton to north to 38 to 32. down university to grays ferry on the western and southern boundaries. cars will be allowed to leave the traffic boxes but not before. they can drive anywhere win the boxes. schuylkill expressway eastbound will be close blue route 476 to i-95. westbound schuylkill expressway closed i-95 to route unone. 676 river to river. city avenue will be closed between lancaster and belmont because the pope will be staying at saint charles borromeo

and closer to the track of low pressure creating the rain, the better chance of precipitation. at times overnight tonight and tomorrow morning there's a chance of steadier stuff down south. 71 degrees by 8:00. 11:00, 80 degrees. 2:00 p.m., 84, high temperatures around 83:00 p.m. 85 in millville. looking at 84 for the high along most shore communities. still looking at cool ocean water temperatures, not a big chance of rip currents, although they will change tomorrow as the low gets off the coast and we'll see an onshore flow. chans of late-day rain -- chance of late-day rain in south jersey and delaware. phillies 83 degrees the first pitch. 85 in the 9th inning.

tonight at musikfest. up north we're not expecting any rain, rain stops in philadelphia. the gates open at 6:30, the actual main stage event not until 8:30 there's an opening act. 77 degrees for the beginning a nice night for the concert. musikfest is back, that's cool. overnight we have light rain in philadelphia. steadier stuff down south. the latest model run has most of us getting out of here by noon. i actually think there's a chance it hangs on longer down the shore into the afternoon. some models are playing with that idea not much total rain. there are others pushing a steadier rain up closer to philadelphia and into the shore. that one to two would be back here in washington d.c. and the chesapeake bay. just to give you an idea there's a little variation. 85 is the high, clouds on the increase showers possible late
